What's the earliest memory that you can recall? Pages 1 2 NEXT
The earliest memory that I can remember is the birth of my brother when I was 3 years old. I remember standing outside the window where you look at all the newborn babies. I remember that it was night time and that my dad had to lift me up to the window to see all the babies. That's the earliest true memory that I have.
One day when I was about 4 or 5 and I was helping my Dad clean something. I think it was a dresser. I always found it weird that that's the first thing I remebered, like everything before that just doesn't seem to exist.
Earliest clear memory is when I was 3 and found cat dead and torn open on my front porch. Though after he died I felt like the stairs were empty, so I feel like I have some subconscious memory of him there even though I don't actually remember that.
Christmas when I was three years old. I got my first lego set, which was an ambulance. Then we all ate biscuits for breakfast. Man, I love Christmas.
The first thing I remember with any clarity is my second birthday, sitting at a table with a big chocolate cake in front of me.
I have a memory of being insanely jealous of a little black boy who had a plastic peddle car that he was scooting around a wood floor. Must have been under 3. Because it happened when I lived in the UK (from talking to parents). They had some friend who had immigrated from somewhere in Africa.
My 3rd birthday - walking into the living room where there was a Mr Blobby cake waiting =P
I think I was 4 when the family car we were all in, my mother, father, sister and I, was T-Boned at an intersection. I remember the windows being shattered. I was crying and some woman, I don't think it was my mum, was holding me whilst someone was using a red phone box. That's it. It's not really a memory though. It's more a memory of a memory of a memory. That's why it's just a few flashes in time.
When I was 3 and a half my sister stole my baby blanket and I was looking for it and she had it tucked around a my little pony stuffed animal. I really loved that blanket and was upset, for some reason I remember it vividly.
A blue-purple vortex with an uncanny resemblance to the time vortex in Doctor Who. I'm not even fucking kidding.
When I was around 3 or 4 after gettin into a tub of vanilla icecream I walked out into the living room where my older sister was playing origional nintendo, (back when it was the shit) I was born in 86, anyways she was laying down on the floor playing mario or something, and I got sick and puked ALL over her ass and she freaked out and ran up the stairs while puke running down her legs. I'm pretty sure hilarity insued.
I have two, and I am not sure which came first chronologically. 1. The apartment, or condo, or whatever it was my family lived in. I recall the spiral staircase. Nothing specific about it, just a spiral staircase. 2. Looking down from the railing of our hotel room at Disney World with my father. I can't have been older than 3 in either memory, but beyond that it is a blur.
My earliest memory is that of going across the glass hospital bridge when I was 2 to have surgery on one of my eyes. And, after that, tearing around the ward the next morning.
Aged 3, and going to the hospital to see my newborn baby sister. Only thing was, my parents bought me some chocolate and passed it off as a gift from her (presumably in order to stave off any sibling jealousy). I never was jealous of her, but it confused me for years afterwards as to how a newborn baby got her hands on chocolate. My first very clear memory was probably when I was 4, in early 1997. I remember being scared shitless by a Labour Party Political Broadcast, of all things. Something to do with it showing how interest rates under the Conservatives driving people out of their homes due to mortgage repayments or something, but all I saw were people being kicked out of their homes by the nasty people, and then a big shadow coming along, and everyone running away screaming from a big shadow, and one girl even dropped and lost her teddy bear! I tell you, it was terrifying stuff for a four-year-old to see.
In the car, backseat. | |
The earliest memory was I woken up from inside a pram. We were in the city centre I was born in and it was raining but the pram had that protective screen so I went back to sleep.
When I was 2 or 3, I escaped from my cot & climbed down the stairs to my living room.
I do not know which of the 2 I'm going to give is older so I will list them both. One was me standing in our backyard pulling my wagon around while watching the family dog a German Shepard named Kimmy run along the far fence from me. After what IDK. The second was me inside the house spotting Kimmy and walking over to her. I reached up and rubbed her on the head. She then looked down @ me (I was shorter than her) and we then rubbed noses. As said I do not know which is the older memory but I do know they happened when I was 2 since Kimmy ended up dying about a month before my third birthday.
I was around 2 years old, I climbed behind a couch and shat myself. Either that, or a memory that might be older, when I stood up in my bed (which was in my parents bedroom) and just looked around.
I just remember sitting in the back of a car, with my parents in the front. No idea what was going on. It was probably just popping down to the shops or something. I also remember waking up in the middle of the night to find my mother watching the life of Brian on the tv in my room.
Being around my great-aunt's house looking at all the tadpoles in her garden pond when my sister tried to push my face in the water. I must have been about four at the time. My early memories kind of suck, I have trouble remembering much from before I was about eight.
I believe I was about 1 because this was in the first house my parents stayed in before they moved when I was 1 and a half.
I only recently remembered, I think I was 7 at the time.
Half your sister stole your blanket? That must have been one scary-ass memory. OT: Well, when I was a little kid there was only really one other kid my age I interacted with. Beyond that, I basically grew up with a pack of gun dogs, so my earliest memory is being put in the back of a landrover with them after a day on the moor with my dad. I love dogs. They always make me feel happy and energetic. Edit: I must have been around 3 or 4?
No idea what age I was, but I remember listening to disney christmas carols and driving around town looking at christmas lights. It's a tradition in our family, so my age could vary, but they're still moments I'll never forget.
A few indistinct memories of crawling, my mother reading children's books, etc. First clear memory that I can distinctly place is holding my sister the day she was born, was almost six at that point.
I think I was around 4 where my bigger brother and I played war with plastic guns or guns we built with lego's or something. We used to live in an old huge house with a huge garden and everything was snowy. We had a complicated system and set of rules for our age to determine who won :p
The earliest thing i remember clearly was meeting my best friend in kindergarten. I do have a vague memory of lying in a crib with my parents looking down at me, but i can't tell if thats a memory, a dream, my imagination or some combination.
The earliest one i can full recall is when my dad got a new edger and started it up in the house and smacked our kitchen tile. I can remember a few things before that but no full events.
Uh, I said when I was 3 and a half years old, my sister did not split like some silent hill game. There was a point to me writing "and a"
You forgot the comma. My earliest memory is me taking a shit on our yard at age 2-3.
I can actually remember being changed on a bedside-table. It's surprisingly vivid. At the time, the table seemed like a skyscraper, and my mother a giant. After that, however, there's a multiple year blank with my next earliest memory being a bad dream I had at age 3 or 4, where my house turned into the boo mansion from Mario 64.
Being lost in a shopping centre when I was three. After that's it's being hit by a car when I was six.
I have a really bad memory. I can't remember before high school or even the early years of high school (I'm 18).

I mean, I doubt anyone could think as far back as being trapped in your mother's womb, but what's the furthest memory that you can remember?
For me, the clearest thing that I can recount is me getting up from bed, with my jeans and shoes already being worn for some reason. I crawled out of bed and on the floor like a toddler but instinctively I got up on my feet and began walking. I was probably around 4-5, maybe? Every other memory beyond that is a cluster of weird shit.
