THERE IS A GOD!!! Toonami is officially Returning TONIGHT!!

Now, I know I may seem late to the party, but I just heard the good news.

Toonami is, back, officially, starting Saturday night at 12:00 AM Toonami will be returning to Cartoon Network (as a bonus, the Boondocks are coming back July 4th).

Just because of this news, I think I'm not going to fall asleep until I've at least watched ONE episode of Bleach.

The timing is a pain but you know what? It's worth it. Toonami is WORTH it.

The Toonami Faithful has conquered the day, now we just need to hold onto it! We need to tune in and watch, to let Cartoon Network know that we are still loyal to Toonami, that it still has a large fan community!

TO THE TELEVISIONS MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! TO TOONAMI!

EDIT:

Planned lineup is Bleach, Deadman Wonderland, Casshern Sins, FMA: Brotherhood, Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd GIG, and then Cowboy Bebop, if anyone is interested.

I don't really care much. As much as I was one of those "90's kids who grew up with Tom", I can't really bring myself to care.

If I want to watch anything that would be shown on Toonami, I would've done so a year ago.

Yep, I haven't heard of Deadman Wonderland or Casshern Sins, so this is going to do what Toonami used to do for me... Introduce me to brand New Animes to watch and enjoy. ^_^

I don't like Toonami.

I don't get all the hype.

Can somebody explain the craze for me?

I'm looking forward to this, as well. I loved Toonami as a kid.

And the lineup looks pretty good to me. I'm surprised about Deadman Wonderland being there. I never saw that coming, but I like the show okay, and I'm looking forward to hearing it in English.

I'm okay with the lack of much older shows. Some of those shows they shown on April Fools didn't hold up as well as I thought they would (*cough DBZ *cough*), and I'd like to see some new shows, as well.

Meh, as much as I used to fucking love DBZ and stuff like that back when I was a kid I don't really feel strongly one way or another. To me, it seems like it is basically just normal Saturday night Adult Swim (with a few tweaks)that's been branded Toonami in accordance with the wishes of fans.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

It turns out I may have slightly jumped the gun by saying it was "Tonight". While midnight technically leads into a new day, Adult Swim still considers it to be May 25th. Toonami will appear on May 26th at Midnight then (even though it would technically be may 27th)

Silly Americans, it is almost midnight the 27th!

We Australians are in the future!

Because a bunch of recycled anime is the closest you'll get to having cartoons on Cartoon Network these days.

I think it's time for everyone to do the Bolo Zenden dance in celebration. I'm going to post that gif often. Get used to it and love it.

Should be a rule against Mackams on the 'Net.

OT: Much as I love most of that lineup, it seems more of a "Greatest Hits" than anything new and current.

There is a God he just hates the English, we don't get it :(

No there shouldn't, bask in all of our glory. What are you a skunk?

Boondocks Fore!

Supertegwyn:

And we are training for it with Fallout.

I already own/have watched all these shows when I was younger, so I don't really care. Plus, I don't have cable anymore so that helps the matter.

This was exciting for me when I was young because I had no other means to these shows due to my lack of internet or internet knowledge. However, I have that now, so Toonami returning is rather irrelevant for me.

I have stayed golden Tom but I'm not quite sure about the shows you have lined up.

the time its on is a bit hinky though :/ hope that gets fixed other wise.

i say we go get tore up in celebration :D

Well at least Ghost in the Shell is back on TV, if it were on earlier than 2 AM it might pick up more viewers and then get us another season made.

Are you trying to say that "Dude what would happen" ISN'T a cartoon?! I was under the impression that only poorly animated Cartoon Characters could act like that.

Jokes aside, I find the time is a bit wonky but, as I said before, Toonami is totally worth it. It isn't just about watching the shows, it's about watching TOM as well, listening to the music videos, the awesome advertisements, the game reviews, that's what made Toonami. Not just the lineup, but the things along with it. Toonami was almost a show of it's own, it felt like more than just a "cartoon block".

I may not like Adult Swim that much, but just because of this, it's earned my respect.

Yes!

Now to bring back MegasXLR!

There is only one song so epic to describe this win.

Why the hell does the name of a lineup matter so much? Why is it better than if they just ran the shows but didn't give a name to it?

ToTaL LoLiGe:
What are you a skunk?

And proud, and have Europa League to look forward to :P

Stryc9:
get us another season made.

Though it's by far my favourite anime (apart from the slightly shonky second film...) a reboot would be all kinds of bad. It was a great series, it ended well with everything tied up, let it lie.

What about the block of to be announced shows on before Adult Swim officially starts? I thought those were going to be part of toonami.

As I don't get Cartoon Network, I don't really care. It not available in my country.

any news on a international return? I would really like to watch anime on TV again

toonami was a programming block from the 90,s famous for airing Anime (stuff like Inuyasha and Outlaw star) considering allot of escapist users are anime fans it,s no surprise everybody is so happy.

Anyone know if this is an international thing? Like it will play in the UK too?
I can't seem to find anything on it...

What the hell channel is it on Sky UK?

I'm glad they're at least putting a couple of new shows in the lineup. Didn't have much motivation to watch otherwise, but now I'm kinda looking forward to it.

What no One Piece? No Big O? No DBZ?! I am disappoint.
EDIT: Though to be fair, Deadman Wonderland looks pretty interesting.

Sexy Devil:

Toonami wasn't just a lineup. It had it's own "Theme" to it. The block made it's own advertisements, TOM was more then just some voice on the TV screen, he was in a lot of ways your "friend". Sort of think of it as the same as a Companion Cube compared to a regular cube, they both do essentially the same thing, but you grow more attached to the Companion cube because it was unique, because it was purposely trying to foster a relationship with you.

They canceled that weird "Fried Dynamite" thing they had ages ago and barely anyone cared, they could fire whoever they have doing the "Up Next: So and So" thing and no one would care. But Toonami was different, it was more than just a lineup, it was almost worthy of a channel all on it's own.

I mean when they start making their own personalized music videos and show it on air...

Then it's hard to consider them just another block that didn't have any real relationship with it's viewers.

They even had their own goodbye video when the block was canceled. I doubt just any other block would be able to do that and have it reach the viewers on a level that's more emotional then just "Oh crap now how am I going to watch my shows?"

How the fuck

did I not hear of this earlier.

I want a return of Outlaw Star and Megas XLR. Now.

You are very ignorant of cartoon network these days.
Adventure Time
Regular Show
Thundercats
Young justice
If thats not enough then, well...

You can just be excited it exists even if you dont watch it, just that so others can enjoy it. Are you against others enjoyment?

As for the lineup, glad to see change. Except cowboy bebop, its been on for what 10 years now but I can see how it could draw back the old fans but I want new dubbed anime and glad to see there is some.
Also kekkaishis gone...finally.
