I have a Norwegian exam tomorrow, and a physics exam the day after that. These are important exams.
It's 7:30 pm and as you can probably guess from the fact that I've made this thread, I'm not currently studying.
I managed to open my Norwegian textbook and read half a page before I got the urge to gouge my eyes out with the nearest sharp object out of boredom.
I have not yet opened my physics textbook.

How do I force myself to study?
I need to know. I'm just not capable of it. I'm currently reading webcomics just to avoid sitting down with the books for fuck's sake.

What do you do to make yourself study? How do you find the motivation? HOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!?

You just have to do it. There's no magic secret or anything--if you need to get something done, the only option is to start doing it. That, or you decide that webcomics are more important than your exams.

No seriously. I know all I have to do is turn off the computer and sit down with the book, and that's how studying happens.
But I'm just so apathetic. Sitting down with the book I only end up staring into space and daydreaming.

Get a bucket of cold (or ice water), stick your feet in, and you have to read x number of pages before you're allowed to take them out? Put on some music and read the textbook aloud to the tune?

During one of my final exams (computer networking, ugh) I made myself sit outside and read the book aloud over and over again and couldn't go inside until I'd done it a few times all the way through. Passed that one with like a 90%... seeing as I'd gotten a 54% on the midterm, I'd say it worked.

you could see it like this.

if you pass the exams you will have it 'easier'
- you will least likely have to re invest time to get to the same level of knowledge.
- you might get a better loan depending on your notes and if you can find a job and can sell yourself accordingly.
- you will have a better chance to find a job.
- with a job you might have it easier to afford the things you like and perhaps earn enough if you are old and grumpy.

but if you just browse around the internet for entertainment, you most likely are going to fail the test and pay the ultimate price: time.

you can improve the grades by studying,
you can change your life quality by earning money
but you will never going to be able to make up for the time you have lost.
and in the end you will die, having wasted the time you could had used for something you were interested in.

I think you should start planning the time when you should study. Add in some pauses. Also remember that just reading everything as fast as possible doesn't work. You have to think about what you read.
