I have this really weirdly dubbed DBZ movie on DVD..

So yeah a few years ago my parents bought me a DBZ DVD (Lord Slug) and I recrntly watched it.

...The voices sound REALLY odd. Kakarot has a really deep voice, Krillin sounds like a 12 year old, everyone calls Bulma 'Bluma, Bulma has a New York accent, and everybody calls Piccol 'Big Green'

On the front case it says 'DBZ THE MOVIE- SUPER SAIYA SON GOKU' .....O_o
I've never heard or seen anything else of this dub, so does anyone else know what the hell it is?

I found a video here

It's not the film, but the same dub.

1337 posts yeaaah

Goku....shouldn't sound like that.
shudders in disgust

Isn't that the Malaysian dub?

It's friggin' terrible :D

If it's Malaysian, why are they speaking English o.O

Yeah I remember when they release those films on DVD during the rise of DBZ. As Daystar already mention they are the Malaysian dub since the official English dub haven't been made yet.

I believe it's Manglish.

Gather round ladies and gentlemen and suck from the teat of my DBZ knowledge! The films were dubbed by a company called AB Groupe and were meant for the UK. They did the dub on the cheap which is the reason it's so bad. A lot of the script doesn't make any sense, with Saiyans being called 'Space Warriors' Dragonballs being 'crystal balls' and for some odd reason Piccolo being referred to as 'Big Green'. Fans refer to it as the Big Green Dub for this reason. I actually have this on DVD. Reason I bought it was because I know how bad it was ^_^

Also, if anyone's wondering this is the Malaysian Dub

You do know nobody calls him Kakarot right? Kind of like how nobody calls Superman Kal-El.

Scarim Coral:
they are the Daystar dub.

O_o woah, I never knew there were more

Whoops a typo mistake on me part. What I meant to say there are the Malaysian dub and yeah there were more, 3 I think.

Dear god, the Malaysian dub sounds worse!!

Piccoro...

Sean Hollyman:

Piccoro...

Actually his name is Picorro, even though his name is a play on the musical instrument, most Asian people have difficulty pronouncing L's, so they named him Picorro instead.
