I'm sad because I just know that if Heath Ledger were still around, Nolan would have had him be the judge of that courtroom
Nah he would have found something else for the joker cause the joker being the judge wouldnt make sense for that. If you ask me i dont think the joker would have gotten along with bane at all which is why i have the theory that the reason the joker isnt in this is cause bane killed the joker so he wouldnt cause trouble.
OT: the red hood ones a bit of a stretch but the killer croc ones an awesome, also about how jon blake sounds a lot like tim drake, it does, and also jons actual name being robin and how hes also an orphan like tim drake was.

There was also a character named Daggett in the X-Files, who was played by Robert Patrick, who co-starred in Terminator 2 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who once played Mr. Freeze
OMG.
Christopher Nolan has accomplished the impossible. A reference to a reference within a reference.
Seabutcher: Some of these "easter eggs" are really contrived. When Gordon (I think?) talked about Harvey Dent Day being an annual public holiday, was the movie referencing Calendar Man?
I think more than a reference to Calender man this refers to the Long Halloween plot line which features Harvey Dent turning into Two Face as well as him becoming the Holiday Killer. The Plot for the Long Halloween has some parallels to The Dark Knight as well so im thinking just a tip of the hat maybe ?
I didn't notice anything in particular in Rises, but I did notice something when I saw Dark Knight again. When that detective shows up to tell Gordon's wife he's dead he calls her Barbara. They make a point of establishing that their son is named James after his father, so it's not unreasonable to think that they named their daughter after her mother.
She may be a little young to help out, but Oracle still technically made it into the movie.

Well obviously he'd escape, but he always winds back in arkham, either that or seeing as its a more realistic universe he got the needle.
But the "joker blogs" channel on youtube is apperently leading up to the dark knight rises and before you say its not an official thing, its as official as it can get because months before the dark knight rises came out the creator of the channel met with nolan and read some of the script for the movie...so thats preety cool.

According to my sister - located somewhere in the football stadium scene as she watched the Gotham Steelers Rogues game - when Bane's men originally came, the people of Pittsburgh Gotham went up in arms to fight them off. This being a MASSIVE blooper, I will be very disappointed if mention of this isn't in the DVD release.
Not sure why no one has mentioned this yet, but when Bruce and Alfred were looking at computer trying to figure out how Catwoman was, the mugshot of Anne Hataway was the same as Adam Hughes cover to Catwaon #51. Also on the screen was an image of a newspaper and an article on the bottom read "man seen flying".... Superman reference??
OT: the red hood ones a bit of a stretch but the killer croc ones an awesome, also about how jon blake sounds a lot like tim drake, it does, and also jons actual name being robin and how hes also an orphan like tim drake was.
Actually Tim Drake wasn't an orphan until after Identity Crisis. He just joined Batman because he thought that Batman could use a more humanizing influence.
Just saw the movie. It was pretty spectacular. Anyway, the only easter egg I noticed has already been pointed out multiple times. The reference to Killer Croc.

I remember reading at the end of the Emperor Joker storyline years ago that they moved the Joker to a prison named 'The Slab' in NYC so as not to stir up the other inmates at Arkham Asylum. Although the absence of any mention of his character whatsoever could be out of respect to Heath Ledger and his performance...

God, thematically that did annoy me, the entire time I'm wondering how Joker would of reacted to Bane's plan.
It was great seeing Crane again.
He is possibly the best guy for the role of Scarecrow, so glad they got him in BB.
OT: don't even know why i'm here, not even seen the film yet and im seeing it 2morrow, meh, don't really care much for spoilers xD
I'll come back 2morrow if i notice any xD
EDIT: How can they leave an ending like that, seriously!?!?!?!
The only Easter egg i noticed was the thing about Killer Croc, well the reference to him anyway, other than that, nothing.
I can't believe they left the trilogy like that! however it could easily open up into the Justice League, so maybe that is what they are planning.
How can they leave the trilogy like that? The good guy wins, then retires, to spend the remainder of his life happy and away from danger, a fate well-earned But, he passes on the mantle of Batman to someone else, meaning that while Bruce Wayne is "dead", the legend of Batman can live on and the people of Gotham can be protected for years to come
That was the PERFECT ending
And come on? A justice league? Every DC movie except Nolan's Batman trilogy has been a pile of horse shit, making a justice league movie out of that mess would be a colossal mistake

Lucane: Also I was saying Scarecrow "could" be in the movie He helped Ra's Al Ghul in the first movie and so they both we're in the "League of Shadows" meaning as long as it was possible for Scarecrow to be free at the time he could help out Bane and Talia two other Members of the L.o.S. alot of other people have been saying it would of been better to have had Joker wielding the gavel even though he wouldn't likely want/like to work for/with Batman.
I'm not sure why there's any real confusion of Crane in TDKR. He was clearly captured, and likely in prison after the early scene in The Dark Knight. He was likely still in prison during TDKR until Bane blew it up. Then either Bane or Crane himself decided to make him the judge, which isn't a huge leap when the inmates are running the asylum so to speak.
And I never got the impression he was an actual member of the League of Shadows in Begins. More that he was a man in a position to help them towards their goals, and was easily bought by providing him the compounds to make the fear inducing compound more potent, and letting him do whatever sort of lunatic experiments he wanted on the inmates at Arkham. I never got the sense that he was a true believer in Ra's goal, though I have no doubt he'd love to see all of Gotham gripped by fear and panic.

I agree with you on the joker bit. Bane's plan depended on organization, to add a volatile mixture like the Joker to that would probably fuck things up. He likely had him killed to prevent this.

Tim drake was not an orphan. You're thinking of dick Grayson.
Actually Tim Drake is an orphan he just didn't first appear as one. His father was killed in Brad Meltzer's Identity Crisis.
Any one else ever notice that the only other place before the first film that the league of assassins is called shadows is in the Batman the Animated series episode that introduces Talia

the omniscience of Bane and the chaos of the Joker. That would be an unstoppable force against an immovable object.
Gabanuka: Can someone fill me in on the line Movie Bob mentioned taken directly from Kingdom Come?
When Batman is with Selina Kyle, and he looks away for a half second and she's gone.
"Huh, so that's what that feels like."
Replace Selina Kyle with Superman and it is the scene from Kingdom Come.
I loved this scene. Everyone in the theater laughed but I knew that only a handful of viewers shared the reference with me. It could not be anything but a direct call back to the best line in Kingdom Come.
Second "easter egg" that I am surprised hasn't been addressed yet is the love-interest/sexual-interest between Bruce and Talia. There were a number of thematic reasons for Bruce to sleep with Talia...

That's a very common urban legend, so to call it a reference is a pretty massive stretch.
A lot of you don't seem to know what an Easter Egg is and the other half are REALLY stretching it.
Here's what I got: -When Batman "Returns" for the first time the older police officer states to the younger officer "You're in for a show tonight", which is a quick reference to a similar scene in the graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns". Where Batman comes back after decades of being absent and a similar situation happens between a older cop and a more younger cop who doesnt understand just who Batman is.
-When Ra's Al Ghul talks to Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins about his past life they are talking in front of a camp fire, when Miranda/Talia is talking to Bruce about her past they are talking in front of a fire.
-Also at the end Gordon quotes "A Tale of Two Cities" which Nolan has stated was part of the inspiration for the script.

Hardly. Bane has an army of heavily armed thugs, The Joker is alone, and likely locked in a cell. Bane's minions are perfectly willing to die for the cause, The Joker has to hire the mentally unstable.
I am surprised that barely anyone if anyone at all has mentioned the fact that Batman's final suit in Rises is grey with a black emblem in the middle (well the whole middle section is black i suppose). Its actually the first time that a true black and grey batsuit has appeared in a Batman film, unless you count the weird but awesome/hilarious Adam West Batmans of the sixties! I thought it was a nice touch but hardly anyone has mentioned it! Also, the Red Hood one was actually pretty cool but didnt really notice it till i saw it writ down on a forum about Nolan's Easter eggs and Under the Red Hood is one of my favourite of the animated films!
Suprised no one caught this, but when Bruce first leaves his house going to visit fox, fox says "So you have come out of your crypto sleep." Victor Fries aka mr. Freeze put his wife to crypto spleen so he could have time to figure out the disease that's killing her.

Nope, they're rebooting the franchise.
I DEMAND that Johnny Depp plays the Joker, Jim Carrey comes back as the Riddler, A Bane with Venom (however the one without is pretty badass) And Killer Croc to make appearances in this new reboot. If not i will be deeply upset!
