OT: I don't necessarily think Season 3 has killed the show. That's sounds like a bit of hyperbole to me. Sure, there hasn't been as many episodes that wowed me like in the last two seasons, but so far, I'm still enjoying it. Besides, the season's not over yet, there might still be some really good episodes on the way.

Indeed, for Bronies it would be. Not for the whole family as the cartoon is for. The only thing close to this is for Octavia and DJ-Pon3 becoming friends for the first time. Yeah, both shows are commercials at heart, Mlp's just a very good commercial. Littlest Pet Shop...I don't know. It's not my thing, but if someone else enjoys it, who am I to judge them?
I was finding the show to begin declining in quality, too. Then, I discovered other slice-of-life-action-fantasy works, such as the animé, Rosario + Vampire, and my happiness returned to me. Regular Show, El Goonish Shive... I must find more!
First off, Is EN the same guy who used to make those insane Sonic threads including one where he went on a rant about there being a Sonic balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? Anyways I don't see the show declining in quality, each season has had its bad spots but fans just ignore them and focus on the good parts which are the majority.
This is only a short season. So things are bound to be rushed, and characters are bound to miss out on episodes.
Also, "listen to bronies"? You know the show wasn't originally made for bronies, right?
And you know what I blame for the short season? Hasbro's decision to waste all of their resources on The Littlest Pet Shop cartoon! They are trying too hard to make another MLP out of Littlest Pet Shop, even though that toy-based series will never out-MLP MLP. Who cares about Zoey the dog or Sunil the mongoose? What about Twilight and Pinkie Pie? What about the Mane Six's friendship, rather than some teenage girl who takes care of seven miniature animals?
As for the show not originally being meant for bronies... well, it should be! Hell, John de Lancie, the voice of Discord, formed a Kickstarter project to create a brony documentary, which is out right now! And don't forget about Equestria Daily, which is heavily by bronies, for bronies.
But, since what you're saying is that the show was meant for little girls, not bronies... then I hope there are thousands of little girls all over the world watching this show, as they send angry letter to Hasbro criticizing the decisions they've made for Season Three. Little girls can be just as much brutally honest and passionate about G4 MLP, and if they spot something they deeply despise in the show, those same girls should have as much of a say about the show as us bronies.
Okay, I'm not getting into the debate here (mainly because I'll be away for a couple of days now on a trip and thus without internet, but also mainly because I hate getting involved in actual debates on the internet because they never stay as debates and always end up with one side repeating the same idiotic statements and opinions without evidence and ultimately one party or the other becoming little better than a troll). You are getting way too uptight and serious about this. It's a TV show, made for children, NOT for 'bronies'. It was based on an existing franchise made years ago for CHILDREN. You have absolutely zero say in what goes in to that show, and it's pointless claiming otherwise.
You know something? I'm a massive Doctor Who fan, up there on the same level as RootOfAllEvil and TimeLord. But if the show starts to suck, the worst I'll do is complain online. I won't demand that the writers start listening to what I want because I'm not a professional writer, I don't write screenplays and TV shows for a living, and I don't have a financial investment like they do in maing sure the show stays good. If I want my own ending I'll write a fanfic. And then I'll delete said fanfic unless it's actually any good, which is the only time I'll post it online (because there are enough bad fanfics out there and I have pride in the quality of my own writing work, original or fanfic).
As a fan, NOT a writer, you have no say in what goes on to the finished product. If the creator choose to give you an input then that's great and should be applauded IF your ideas are any good, but that's entirely their prerogative. I say all this as both a creator and as a consumer of media - the creator is the only person who has any right to how the creation of their work should take place. Yes, they shpuld listen to fans, but half the time that doesn't do anything and the fans come up with equally crap or stupid ideas anyway. Hell, I was firmly on Bioware's side through the whole ME3 debacle, and that's me as a staunch fan of the games. They created it, not the gamers, so they were the ones who should choose how the story ended.
I'm going to end on a simple note here and leave you with an article explaining far better than I can just how self-entitled and selfish pricks the internet has made us all.
No idea what you're talking about. I've seen every episode so far and it's been almost nothing but good. Good storylines, good character growth especially from Applejack and Dash in their respective episodes, and John De Lancie came back. That right there is enough to make it worth it.
My ONLY complain, and it's small, is the music which was my initial draw to the whole series to start with. Nothing so far save for Babs Seed has really been an earworm that's stuck with me, but that might come down to just personal taste. Otherwise, it's all been good.
