Ljs1121: Don't think I've seen much hate for Doctor Who as a whole. There may be a few Moffat haters, but nothing of a major degree.
Not just a few. There are quite a lot of people who do not even acknowledge Matt Smith's current tenure, which if you think about it shows little understanding for the franchise's regeneration gimmick.
Soviet Heavy: Equal opportunity discrimination is better than selective discrimination.
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.... What?
The statement was not made to endorse discrimination it meant that "equal opportunity discrimination" shows that a wide variety of interests and opinions are represented on this site. If it were the other way it would mean that we were a homogenous single minded community that did nothing but reinforce our shared opinions without any dissenting opinions to balance it out.
I didn't bother reading the replies and hope someone already answered it like this but: the community is not a hivemind. you're taking the opinion of a few people, if not one, and expanding that to the whole community. Please don't do that.
The Escapist tends to be more condescending than insulting. I think any indie game fandom is accepted here. Apart from that, it seems everything mainstream is hated on.
You really shouldn't judge the group by the individuals. We all have different opinions and we don't have a collective opinion that is the same outside maybe liking video games which is still iffy.
Assassin Xaero: MLP - Because if you say bad things about them, or even say something about some of them, you will get a warning from the mods because they (Bronies) are a "group that frequently comes here" (yet you can say whatever the hell you want about anyone else or anything else).
I got a warning for that exact thing. Yet I see a bunch of people and shit getting mocked on this site. Why are the bronies protected?
Well, apart from the fact that the phenomenon you're describing occurs across the entirety of the internet and certainly not contained to The Escapist, there's plenty of specific fandoms that mocked. For example, I love the SHIT out of thy Sly Cooper games, but I've never been insulted because of it.[1] I mean, I won't argue that a LOT of fandoms receive undue ridicule, but every fandom? Not even close.
I mean, I get your point, but it's really not a big problem. I'm perfectly free to talk about how much I love Halo 3 and how I've never played a Legend of Zelda game all the way through, and I can garuntee that nobody will quote this post with a message of molten hate.[2]
[1] Until someone who is much less clever then they think they are does it in this thread just to be funny.

So did I. I even asked support about it, and this was the reply I got:
Well, bronies are a group of people that frequents The Escapist. We explicitly prohibit hate speech against Escapist groups. Further, if you had replaced bronies with "black" or "Christians", it would be quite obvious why the statement was offensive.
Which is hilarious since I see Christians getting attacked all the time and they don't do a thing about it.
Well, the most hate I usually see is about the REALLY bad writing many episodes have and how retarded is the logic behind the whole universe of Doctor Who is. And because of that facts, they also say the Doctor Who fans are ignorant about this and they don't care what they other say about the series.
Most of the hate about bad writing comes from the fans themselves, because they want their favourite show to be as good as it can be. For example, I have a vehement dislike for the current head writer, because he writes convuluted stories and hadn't written a good episode for about 3 series running until the most recent Christmas Special.

Wait a minute, so let me get this strate:
When a episode come out and the writting is bad, the fans immediately complain about that and want something better. However when some other people complain about that and start talk bullsh*t about Doctor Who, the fans trying to ignore them while knowing the complaining is the same like theirs?
Sound like MLP hardcore fans syndrom to me I must say. They do the same exacly!
EDIT: Btw, I am also fan of MLP show. Not a Hardcore type.

No, that's not what I mean. I, and other Doctor Who fans I've encountered online, dislike episodes with bad writing. What that doesn't mean is they accept mindless and generally speaking unfounded criticism of the good bits of the show. They want people to recognise the good and the bad bits, not just the bad.
Redlin5: The Freelancer fanbase hasn't been mocked lately... <.<
I'm still preparing for the worst. >.>
It's because the Freelancer fanbase is pitied for playing a game who's spacial structures and orbital bodies are hilariously scaled and all exist on the same Y axis. Aha! Take that sah! I reset your "Days since last insulted" counter!

Really? I was going to ask them too. But if that's the reply I'm going to get, I'm not even going to bother.
I see Christians and console gamers get constantly insulted on this site and nothing ever happens >.>

A! Ok I get it what do you mean. Sorry for comparing the Doctor Who fans with MLP fans. You don't have an idea how irritating is to see MLP fans to argue and fight why the heck Twiligh will become an Alicorn -_-...

I really love that Magic [of Friendship] is more acceptable than Christianity with this logic XD
Wether or not ME3 actually delivered on what was promised is itself more an opinion. It really only does however if you're willing to say "Well technically..."
Marter: I've not heard one bad word about the Scorpibros. Probably that's because everybody knows it's a fandom for the objectively greatest thing of foreverness. :)
As for the general mocking of fandoms on the site? Yeah, it happens. It happens everywhere. I don't think this place is any different in that regard. People who like different things are going to get mocked because reasons, really.
Pretty sure no-one is mocking scorpibros because the last guy who did so was dragged through the street, given papercuts on his fingers, covered in bees, refused access to nutella and lastly set on fire by yourself. And then you took his charred remains and impaled them on a pole.
erttheking: Something that I've noticed recently. According to this website.
Fans of AAA games like Halo/COD/Battlefield are douche dudebro fratboys Fans of Dark Souls are hardcore elitists Fans of MLP are psychotic manchildren Bioware fans are overzealous perverted entitled shits Valve fans are overzealous fanboys that will kiss the ground that Gabe walks on EA fans are mindless sheep Bethesda fans are 360 fanboys And apparently the fans of Devil May Cry are "the worst fans ever" And a bunch of other things I can't think of at the moment
Is it just me or are some people on this website highly judgmental and at points, a little self destructive? And can someone please tell me why in the 21st century we're still operating on stereotypes? COME ON! Why are so many people so eager to jump to say "oh that is the worse community ever. Those fans are so awful," and things like that. Because FYI, I've spent a lot of time on the Escapist, and more than a few memories I have of this place are sour.
To be fair, none of those sound particularly inaccurate.
Edit: Scorpiobros?
..okay, that's the dumbest fandom I've ever seen, and that's saying something.

Did you just say Bees?
Everyone likes bees here.
I love your new avatar. And do you really want me to go get the wicker man gif? "Not the bees" etc? Nicolas Cage and all?

Apparently it's more acceptable to mock someone's beliefs and faith than it is to mock their taste in cartoons.
The only thing left still to be done, is to make a religion base to My little ponies. I mean, heck, they made the Force from Star Wars a religion, why not the Ponies?
