I don't read much of magazines. Charlie Brooker got me thinking too much. But I think I would enjoy reading the book "The Extraordinary Adventures of Arsene Lupin".

I have subscriptions to Game Informer, Esquire, and Revolver (a mag about hard rock music). I like others like GQ, National Geographic, Reader's Digest, TIME, Entertainment Weekly.

Well, I'd read many magazines (mostly on the 'net), but:

  • The Escapist (duh)
  • PC Powerplay (on and off)
  • and MAD Magazine (if it counts)(again on and off)
  • Yeh, I'm a light reader (more of a novel man myself).

I read PC Gamer (UK Edition) and occasionally read New Scientist.

I used to read Buisnessweek... It got annoying when it was talking about politics. Reader's Digest, for the amusement, and, of course, Southern Living.
Hmmm. I wonder if there's any other periodical I'm forgetting...

I read Escapist for games as most Xbox 360 magazine are £5 upwards. I read Kerrang! for music and also buy Nuts magazine.

I can't believe it's a page and a half and no one admits to porn magazines! Well, I will admit it with pride!

The Escapist and The Economist are the big ones.
    Days Gone By:
PC Gamer when it was actually sold properly in Aus, not in a cut down and stupidfied version like it is now.
PC Powerplay, the best Aussie PC mag that I still occasionally pick up. It's got an annoying "PCer than thou" writer which I can't stand. A strike against it.
Aus Xbox Magazine. Yeah it was and most definitely IS a fanboy pile of doodoo but I liked the demos and keeping up with the news. This was before I got free reign on the net.
White Dwarf: I got in just at the end of the Armageddon period (that hurt) and didn't stop until it was so dumbed down even nostalgia couldn't compel that $11 out of my fingers.
    Misc:
Edge, Play, Games: If any of these look tasty I'll pick them up. I like their text heavy

Other than The Escapist I only dabble in Discover. I'm a science geek at heart with a rough gamer exterior...or would that be chewy?...huh, will have to ponder on that one for awhile.

Or you could get a taste-tester.
Edit: I didn't mean it the way it sounded. Sorry about that.

PC Gamer UK (Probably the finest gaming magazine I've ever read.)
    Empire
    The List
FHM (Occasionally, when I'm bored and there's nothing else to read and just want pictures of sexy ladies :P)

I mostly just use the internet now though. Main sites are:

Eurogamer (excellent site for the UK)
    Escapist, natch.
IGN (As much as I loathe News Corporation and Ign's far too favorable review scores, it's usually got new information before everyone else.)

    Goofonian:
The last paper gaming magazine I read with any regularity was N64 magazine by future publishing. That must have been 10 years ago now.

Was wondering when someone was gonna mention this. Goddamnit, this was the best games publication of its time. RIP Fu-SoYa.

I'm considering a subscription to gamesTM, the only reviewers I trust besides the Consolevania boys. Oh, you havenae heard of 'em? I think I'll make a thread. I used to read Edge, until I realised how bloated and up its own arse it is. Their graphic designers do a good job, though.

    Other then the gimmie,

Ski - though it's out of print for the season
Newsweek, - it comes to the house and goes will with the morning coffee, plus it's less annoying then CNN's new in capsule form

I used to read others but the quality went down, (and I'm guessing readership fell) and the amount of space dedicated to ads went up.

Last one I remember falling to this was APG , a paintball magazine, the in the last issue I read had a long editorial rant about responsible advertising the the last 10 pages of the issue were scantily clad women shilling gear. Irony I can handle but that was a little much, when 70% of the pages were ad.

Nothing now. I used to read Game Informer and MAD, but stopped reading these magazines I liked for reasons I don't quite understand.

National Geographic and Guitar Player are my monthly favorites. The best thing about them is that the library at school stocks them and they're the perfect way to make a badly scheduled arrangement of classes bearable.

When I'm in a waiting room somewhere I'll read McLeans and TIME. I love everything in them, but I've never actually bought them.

I have a huge stack of National Geographics that I love to flip through, but again, I don't buy them.

The only magazines I get semi-regularly are EVO and Top Gear. There's something about sitting on the toilet reading all about awesome cars I'll never own. They're expensive magazines (in Canada), but I enjoy them a lot more than most of the regional car mags.
