At the moment I have Toccata and Fugue, Bach. In monophonic, NES-style beeps, of course. But if I DID have a custom ringtone, it'd probably be something from Final Fantasy. A boss theme, perhaps. |

And I used to just listen to it using the MP3 player function as well... My phone doesn't have cool ringtones though, so when I upgrade later this year, I am getting a phone that does everything! I'll take that challenge. My text alert is the transformation noise from Transformers. |

Paperboy Posts: 31 Joined: 27 Mar 2008 | mine's the muppet show theme, although whenever it goes off i usually end up spending the next 20 minutes on bluetooth sending it to everyone else... a friend of mine had the imperial march as his, til it went off in our a-level chemistry exam & he had to walk up in front of 100s of people & pick his phone up from the front of the room. then he changed it to the "uncle f@#*er" song from south park the movie, just in case it happened again... |

Infamous Scribbler Posts: 511 Joined: 18 May 2008 | I'd have a good ring tone, but I don't know how to put them on my phone. -_- My friend has C3P-O saying 'Sir, the chances of sucessfully navigating an asteroid field are precisely 38,095,685 to 1!!' Which is pretty cool. In a nerdy way. I'd probably have mine play I am The Walrus though. |

It's a great way to connect with similarly minded geeks in a crowd and your phone goes off... My dad has the ASDIC (sonar) ping which is fairly geeky as well, but also cool. |

Paperboy Posts: 39 Joined: 28 Apr 2008 | Normally I don't indulge threads like this, but oh what the hell? My ringtone is the Metal Gear Solid Codec, which I captured from a PSX emulator (as I wasn't about to go hooking up my PSX to my PC somehow and buy an expensive audio card) and then sent it to my cell via e-mail. Why would I do this? Simple; when amongst a bunch of nerds, the coolest thing you can do is whip out your cell when someone calls you and say, "Colonel, can you hear me?" |

Specifically, the "ringing" noise of Snake's communicator for a ringtone, and the "!" sound for an SMS. I've never been interested enough to want to upload custom content to my phone. |

My mobile rang during the middle of a Life Drawing class, and I had the unfortunate experience of being ridiculed by my teacher for having "such an embarrassing' ring tone. That being the original Theme song to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
I still maintain and don't understand why that ring tone would be uncool :P as far as I'm concerned, it's old school awesome.
So I ask, What is YOUR geeky ringtone?
Other ones I currently have right now are:
Rick Ashley's Never Going to Give You Up (I'm rickrolling the world, one sms at a time)
Survivor's Eye of the Tiger (..this is the ultimate 80s monologue song)
Portal's Still Alive (in both the japanese and english version)
Indiana Jones Theme song - (because.)
Final Countdown! - in a rather Arrested Development moment
