This question is based around the fact that I absolutely cannot stand any Red Hot Chilli Pepper songs. I can't stand their music or his voice, despite everyone around me loving them, it's just a fact.

So which (just pick 1) "cool" or "in" band can't you stand?

Fall Out Boy - they yodel when they sing and ultimately they just wish they were Lifehouse (an earlier band)
Jet - the minute they ripped off Iggy Pop's Lust for Life... they were on my shit list
Paramore - can't anybody tell that this is just Avril Levigne songs with a "mall-hardcore" vocal style (see hawthorn heights)

I like Paramore, although they should NEVER cover Foo Fighters.

Foo Fighters - every song they make sounds like a commercial for either Mt. Dew or multi bladed disposable razor blades

Some people class Fugazi as emo but I'm not sure I'd go that far, although Rites of Spring has Guy Piccoto from Fugazi in it.

The trouble is I don't view lousy bands as 'cool'.

Well, aside from all emo bands, girly bands, hippie-sort-of bands, rap bands and death metal which consists of a guy going "BWAAAAAAAH!" into the mic again and again...

All those bands which girls like where the lead singer has some sort of sinus problem.

Any of those new popular indie bands specially electro-indie like pnau.

I do not know about anywhere else but in Melbourne the rise in indie kids over the last six months is atrocious. I was once an indie kid. Back when it was good with music like The Arctic Monkeys, The Frattellis, The Grates ect (popularish but still origional). They still were a bit origional and had a bit of spunk but now they are generic pop-rock bands, bad acoustic musicians and horrid electro like Operator please, Pnau or MGMP (or whatever there name is) . The bit that pains me the most is all the good bands are turning into the bad music that their popularity created.

Lucky for me noise musicians can never sell out. It will never be popular. The closest it will ever come to popularity is industrial bands borrowing from noise that become big such as NIN.

Amy Winehouse since my last missus loved her and the fact that I had never heard of her EVER then BAM suddenly the ugly little crack whore is all over the place.

She isn't lacking in talent, just seance. I am guessing most people don't like her music because of how she acts not how she sings. It's a shame really.

I asked various people why they were excited about seeing Paramore at one festival or another and this is the answer I always got "urgh have you seen how hot she is?" that includes to girls I asked.

Fall out Boy.. Only band I would say I really hate (dispite there songs being fun to play =P)

I cant stand their bassist.. So many things wrong with him I wont go into =|

Panic at the disco.

Firts album: mildly interesting, the occasional clever moment. Could have referrenced mmore than just Fight Club though. Alarm bells should have been ringing when the leaked demos sounded better than the final album.

Second album: Boring dull Beatles ripping desperation. Could easily pass for the Bee Sharps.

To my knowledge the local rock station still plays them 5 times, in 4 hours, but only 3 songs.

At an old job the Radio was locked to Cjay, and you could accurately guess the time of day by when they played certain songs.

"Hmmm...Savin' Me...it must be quarter after 10."

The point of the radio is to help you FORGET what time it is...

I agree with much of their new stuff but I liked them in the 90's. Songs like Generator and Stacked Actors were great.

And i agree with Nickelback, hate the guys voice.

I have to say that the "cool" bands I hate the most are My Chemical Romance because in my opinion of their tasteless choice of songs to sing, and SOAD because I think they have absolutely no sense of rhythm whatsoever and their songs about as dumb as Uwe Boll movies if not dumber (which I think is pretty hard to do).
