Habits you've developed...

I personally have a habbit of touching my ears, specifically the jagged tips on the top of your ears. I touch them every time I'm nervous, bored, fidgetty, sad, and some other emotions. I can't help it, in one of my home movies you can see me touching my ears the whole time when my Aunt is giving a speech.

Any habits you have? Wether it be tapping your foot or licking your elbow(?), are there any habits you just can't break?

I have a habit of scratching my eyebrows when I'm reading for some reason, and cracking knuckles when I talk to people.

i grind my teeth randomly. Really don't know why

I crack my neck as others would crack their knuckles.

I bite my nails, chew my lip and twitch when I'm nervous or bored.

I run my thumb and index finger down my goatee like some diabolical evil-genius plotting his scheme to take over the world....

...or it's just a bad habit.

Bite my nails, and according to my wife, the annoying habit of always turning on Marvel vs. Capcom 2 whenever she's trying to watch one of her many shows.

I do the same...hey did I see you at the last Dastardly Scientist networking meet in London on Wednesday?

If you mean the bearded fellow with the White Russian and musketeer hat then yes, that was me. How goes it, Dr. Professor?

I have a lot of nervous habits...

Oral fixation: touching my mouth or teeth in a repeating pattern (often gradually increasing in speed), or just having my hand on or around my mouth.

Taking my watch on and off (doing/un-doing the clasp), spinning it in my hands, twirling it (ditto with my ring, and my glasses; must have something to occupy my hands, particularly when talking, listening, concentrating, etc). Lacking a watch, my ring, glasses, keys, or a pen, I will play patterns on my fingertips between my forefingers and thumbs. Hands... must.. be... OCCUPIED! As they say, idle hands...

Spitting into the tub when turning on the faucet for a shower (I have no idea how this got started, or what the point is, but I often find myself doing it unconsciously, and I've made a concerted effort NOT to do it, with some success. Potentially a somewhat-conditioned response to the thought of the taste of soap?)

I have a habit of rubbing my chin and the top of my ears.

I also have a habit of button mashing without a controller.

I rub my chin alot and I am often cracking my knuckles

When I'm tense, I clench my feet, as in curling and uncurling my toes inside my boot.

I run my hands through my hair or play with it when I'm tired/bored. I don't know of any nervous tells I have, but I don't often find myself being very nervous.

I have a deformity in both my shoulder blades that cause them to make very audible clicking noises; and of course since I love the sound for some reason I'll make them click over and over again when I zone out. Apparently I'm the only person that doesn't find it gross judging by some of the looks I've gotten.

I also run my fingers through my beard a lot when I'm bored. (I most likely do this because subconsciously I believe birds may have tried to nest while I wasn't looking.)

same here

Oh, my girlfriend has a funny one. She actually braids her hair over and over and over when she's bored or just spacing out or well, most of the time. At the end of a long movie all of her hair will be braided at least two or three times over.

I "twirl" my hair when I'm thinking hard, or bored or agitated. Thing is...I'm black and have hair coarse enough that the twirls kind of...stick around. After a bad day at work, I look...

...

...well, it's somewhere between "interesting" and "crazy"...

I repeatedly bob my foot when I'm anxious, and do a lot of scratching when I'm nervous.

I rub my goatee beard, straighten my mustache and crack my knuckles.

Three barely noticeable habits that combine into... a hardly noticeable set.

I always walk barefoot at home. Whenever I am holding a sharp object I just have to impale it on the nearest expendable wooden object. I crack my knuckles when I'm not with my dad (he smacks me when I do). When I'm bored I start tapping my fingers on my desk really loudly. I can do entire drumsolos.
Also I smoke. I also have the habit of leaving my socks on the dinner table. Whenever I see my reflection in a mirror I make faces. When I make a particular clever comment I whisper it to myself a few times to see if it really was that clever.

I'm a fucking freak.

I tend to tap my feet in rapid patterns when I'm engrossed in something, especially if it's something that pisses me off (say, a particular government outrage.) And I play with my beard a lot.

Another weird habit, if I see things that almost line up (say, light poles along a road) I have to move my head or my body to make them line up. I have stopped doing that whilst driving, though.

I gots them tourrettes so i do lots of stuff. I crack my knuckles, neck, back, wrists, fingers, toes and ankles. my mouth...twitches and my neck tenses.
If im bored and something isnt perfect then i can spend eternity till someone snaps me out of say... making all the pawns on a chess board face the EXACT SAME WAY.

Whenever I'm about to do some kind of self-motivated exercise, like running, I burp.

Whenever I pull out my wallet (with my left hand) I lightly smack the palm of my right hand with it, grabbing it with the right hand in the process.

Sometimes when I finish doing an exercise in which I'm sitting or laying down, I jump to my feet.

Sometimes when I'm going down a set of stairs I jump when I'm at the 3rd or 4th step from the bottom.

I press F2 alot on my keyboard as a while playing MapleStory.
Even when im not playing that game.

Before last Sunday, not the one we just had, my hair was 3 and a half feet longer. Every now and again I still whip my head around to get the "ponytail" out of my face.

When I am reading something on the computer, I tend to move my mouse in small 'V' patterns as I read.

I do any of the following for pretty much any reason:

-Rub my eyebrows (they're just so soft).
-Pace a bit while standing and talking.
-Jig my leg while sitting.
-Touch my lips.
-Run my fingertips around my knuckles.
-I sing at random intervals.

I eat my own skin

I thought I was the only one!

I think my habit is pretty cool...not really.

I used to bit my fingers nails so much it got pretty bad, so I stopped doing that. Upon ending that habit, I created a new one, biting my finger tips, and eating little pieces of skin.

It sounds grosser then it really is...

I used to do the same when I was 12 or so...but my skin on my finger tips started to get hard, so I stopped (And it hurt to pick things up). I still chew on my lips though.

When i'm bored or anxious I run my index fingers through the webbing of my hands
that and cleaning the gunk out of my fingernails
only to have it get stuck in the fingernail I picked it out with...thus beginning my neverending cycle

Yeah, thats what I do. What makes some people think its weird is that I'm a vegetarian. But realistically, since the animal donated the meat willingly (the animal being me) I'm fine with eating it.
