Best I've had, a love bird that, when let out of its cage, would navigate the house looking for me. Its quite funny hearing squeaking and wings beating, then feel something land on your shoulder. |

Dogs are happy to see you, they wanna play and have your attention etc. and their body language is relatively easy for humans to understand. |

Maybe it's because my neediness serves animals that seem to always love you constantly, or possibly I am amused by giant walking bearlions like my Chow. Also I find fish aquariums to be pretty great. Nothing more euphoric than watching fish swim around in a giant tank. Their little societies and interactions. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 67 Joined: 26 Jun 2008 | My family has both a dog (see avatar) and a cat. I prefer cats because they don't need as much care (no walks!), but I think you can get the same amount of love from either. A cat usually won't show it as overtly as a dog (running to meet you at the door) but they'll cuddle up when you're sitting in a chair. And TommyGun, just don't keep them together... |

Um...is the impending arrival of the snake going to remedy your status as "hamster infected"? I love cats...but I voted for "other" on the poll. Why? Every cat I've had has been more like a roomate than a pet, they really are just little hairy people with fangs and claws, the cat I grew up with would even have morning coffee (1 cream 2 sugars) with me and my mother. I listed other because for my money, nothing beats a toad as a pet. They're great little animals and if (like me) you have a thing for textured monochrome "housescaping" they're quite (to my eye) decorative too! And they're soft. I don't mean "squishy" soft (that would be cruel,) but...well, "soft" like good cotton sheets soft on thier little underbellies. Honestly have you ever picked up a toad? Possibly my favorite creature of all time... |
