Zach Galafanikis Louis C.K. is great, too. most of my favorite comedians tend to die, though.
Mitch Hedburg, Ricky Gervais, and Eddie Izzard. I like a lot of comedians but the above have been the only truly constant.
I forgot to add Zach to my list, may I post in shame!
Bill Hicks I don't really prefer jokes for the sake of jokes, comedians. I prefer satirical observationalists.
Zach G. is great. Some others I really like are Patton Oswalt, Paul F. Tompkins, Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Brian Posehn. I guess if I had to narrow it down, it'd be between Patton Oswalt - I like his intellectual, even sort of "nerdy" style - and Dave Chappelle - who's just a great storyteller and acts out each of the characters so well.
Bill Hicks. | |
George Carlin-nobody angrier at the world who can voice it so well.
Jack Dee His Dead Pan Humour And Cynical Nature Puts A Smile On My Face (English Comedian Youtube Him)
Bill Hicks Basically I like bitter and/or damaged people that tried really hard to annoy and anger everybody.
Well, if we're counting dead ones.. then definitely Bill Hicks and Mitch Hedburg belong on anyones list who have functional ear drums. Also, I'll add Brian Posehn, too. If you're looking for a "clean" stand-up comedian who is actually pretty hilarious to watch with your family.. Brian Regan is a good choice.
Nice, thanks for the tip.
Lee Evans, Omid Djalili, Pablo Francisco are pretty good
Ho yus. Let's not forget Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Al Murray, Dara O'Brien, Frankie Boyle, Frankie Howard, Tommy Cooper, Eddie Izzard, Rob Newman, Rory Bremner, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Mel Smith, Griff Rhys Jones, Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse, John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Eric Idle, Hugh Dennis, Jasper Carrot... But for a favourite...Don't think I could choose..
Bill Bailey and Bill Hicks
...what he said. everyone of those i agree with.
FRANKIE BOYLE! Bill Bailey Dylan Moran Jimmy Carr - Saw Bill last November and off to see Dylan in October :D EDIT: Because they're all so honest and so RIGHT!
umm jimmy carr, eddie izzard, dara o'briain, russell howard, ricky gervais, bill hicks, jack dee, bill bailey i've seen jimmy carr, ricky gervais, russell howard and dara o'briain live. and they are all brilliant. i had to sell my bill bailey tickets though, that made me v. sad :( oh and i hate lee evans. oh look he is sweating and nearly fell over... ho ho ho.
Bill Maher, Russell Brand, Nickswardson, and tons others. I love comedy.
Stewart Lee-Very intelligent man, full of wonderfully understated vitriol.
Peter Molyneux, Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr.
Lee Mack | |
Two of my all-time favorites are Jeff Dunham. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZjMgbRUsZM And The Amazing Jonathan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9no9Tcg4v_8 Both are great acts, and Jeff is funny as hell even in the bloopers.
I'm going to see one of my favourites, Bill Bailey, on the 17th September, I honestly can't wait. My fiancee and I are massive fans.
I'm just amazed this hasn't been locked yet. Bloody love it.
Jason Manford | |
RUSSEL PETERS Seriously, if you haven't seen his work, get your ass to youtube right now. I have both his DVDs and drove two hours down to Calgary to see him live. This guy is the king of voice/accent impersonations, and he never fails to get me laughing. Other favorites,
A lot of British comedians, and Bill Hicks I see
Russell Peters, Maz Jobrani, Lewis Black, Ahmed Ahmed and Jerry Seinfeld. These are my personal favourites, I've seen Russell and Ahmed live, absolutely fantastic.
Eddie Izzard's got to be my favourite because he's just so damn cool. He's like the uncle I wish I had when I was a kid. I've only ever seen Frankie Boyle on Mock The Week, but he just makes jokes that no-one else can make. Or at least, they don't seem to want to try. This may sound weird, but Robin Williams is pretty good in his Broadway show. It's difficult to know which of his accents is his real one.
Eddie Izzard is a hero. His stuttering streaming-thought style is absolutely hysterical. I watched Stewart Lee's "World's 41st Best Stand-Up" show earlier today and it had me howling with laughter.
If we are including comedy groups, then how can we not all pray to our overlords at Monty Python?
Brendon Burns. Aussie Comic who works primarily in the UK after moving here as a kid. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmi8hykbhMY
Bill Bailey | |
Well I'm watching Bill Burr right now and hes actually freakin hilarious, I'm pleasantly surprised. Also I'd have to say Mitch Hedburg, just a shame hes dead =/ Robin Williams is great too. I like Dave Chappelle as well, just his voice cracks me up.

Me and my friends were talking earlier today and ended up on what comedians we liked the most. I personally love Lee Evans, Russell Howard and Michael McIntyre, (I am aware all are British). I love Lee as he is so energetic (I actually get tired while watching him), Michael because almost all his jokes are his own, and Russell is just inexplicable.
So who is your favorite Comedian and why?
