I got tired of it after two years, so I thought, what am I? What can be used to describe me? I'm not magical and I write poetry, so I got NonMagicPoet. I use it for just about everything including Aim. |

(Food and Plenty) I searched it up for an Rp a while back where I was running the evil side and the good guys had to fight four super baddies. Thanatos, Nergal, Ares and Limos. (Death, Pestilence, War and Famine.) I tend to use Thanatos or Limos as my screename. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 409 Joined: 14 Aug 2008 | well, mine was kinda funny. I had a friend online that I talked to a lot and his name was NiceGuy_14 and I just wanted to see what hey would say if I changed my SN to NiceGurl, we got a good laugh out of it but even after I changed it people would still call me NiceGurl so I just kept the name. I've had it for like 3 or 4 years now so the 14 is incorrect, I just haven't bothered to change it. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1587 Joined: 5 May 2008 | Jobz...Jobz was taken from a book called Remnants by K.A. Applegate which was at one point my favorite series. One of the main characters who was a computer whiz called himself Jobs after Steve Jobs, because "He created a revolution in his parent's garage". At the time I was quite a techie myself (Still am I suppose), he was my favorite character in the series, and I just liked the name. So I took it, changed the "s" to a "z" and made it my own. I add numbers to the end of it once in a while if I feel like changing it up, usually numbers of MI6 agents from the James Bond movies. For example, I'm Jobz007 on XBL, and Jobz006 on GameFAQS. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1664 Joined: 9 Aug 2008 | Being that this is an internet forum based around gaming, I used my X-Box Live gamertag as my username. Ares Tyr is a combination of two names. Ares, the Greek God of War and Battle. And Tyr, the Norse God of War and Victory. I thought they fit nicely. Being that I am half Greek, Ares came naturally (though my first choice was Achilles). Tyr comes from my love of mythology in general. That's about it. |

Norse mythology is my favorite. Followed closely by Greek. |

If I ever write a silly book parodying crime fiction, the detective protagonist will have this name. I also occassionally like to use Abdominal Strain, which I came up with while playing Jade Empire, just because it sounded like the names they had already given to their characters. |

Actually Tyr is the god of single combat (one on one battles). Odin is the god of war. I made a movie with my brother a few years ago about a fellow called Alfred von Himstracht. Who was chased out of his appartment by a trio of evil dudes, I played the part of one them, which was the Iron Ninja. He was supposed to be a parody of the host of Iron Chef America (who says "todays secret ingredient is..." then screams out whatever the secret ingredient is) except instead of proper ingredients, the Iron Ninja's secret ingredient was always pain. So I took a screenshot of a scene of the movie, added a spatula and a chef hat (to make sure people got the whole 'chef' side of things, though they probably still don't) and made it my avatar. |

To sailors, the old adage "Red sky in morning, sailor's take warning", means that stormy weather is approaching. It's also my XBL Account, for the same reason. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 575 Joined: 21 Jun 2008 | I think I've told this story quite a few times now, but I'll go at it again for the sake of the thread. Back in 2002 I joined my first forum, and for that I needed a name. I had just completed Final Fantasy VII and had it on my mind, so I decided to name myself Neo Sephiroth. I have no idea where the Neo part came from, but whatever. Anyway, a few years later I got into playing Initial D: Arcade Stage and wanted to advance my playing by buying a players card so I can store my car and saved data. Since I had been using the alias of Neo Sephiroth for a while now, I decided to shorten it for the game (which only allowed 5 characters). So I wrote in N.Sep. My friend commented that the 'Sep' part was lame and suggested I put in 'Sef' instead. So I did, the dash in the middle came afterwards. I have a lot of fond memories attached to my alias, since I made a lot of real life friends from those forums. But the whole Neo Sephiroth bit was done with, so I decided to now commonly use the shortened version. |

Self-esteem issues aside, my xbl name is treadligtly. Being the dumbass I am (self-esteem issues again, damnit), I left out the H and am forever called by dumbasses who can't connect a word missing one letter, "treadligatly, treadligitly, treadligaaghgh whoever the fuck you are." And i found out that treadlightly with an h is already taken. How i picked it is wierd though. I heard an alternation of a quote by Theodore Roosevelt, "speak softly and carely a big stick." to "tread ligtly and carry a big stick" so i thought treadlightly would be a cool name. |

You don't ask anything of a Ninja, either a Ninja gives or a Ninja kills, there will be no questions. |

Gods of Combat do not give anything. We either kill or we don't kill. Keeping your life is gift enough in our eyes. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4269 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | Yeah but your two gods will be bickering as to whether they should follow the rules for greek warfare or the rules for Norse one on one combat. So I'd win, plus I'm a Ninja. |

Apparently you didn't know that Ares was not one for rules. That was Athena. Ares was the God of brutal, bloodshedding, battle-frenzied war. Not organized warfare. Also Greece was one of the first cultures to derive the concept of the duel. |
