No, I am not looking for free ones. Rather, what I want to know is, what is your ringtone? Right now my ringtones are Get Ready to Rokk by Freezepop and the codec sound from MGS. Still alive was one of my tones for awhile, though.

I used to have that opinion, but that was when I had a much crappier phone (I got a new one that can actually do ringtones). Now I have ring tones just for the hell of them.

Graustein:

This, essentially. I've often thought about carrying a set of speakers and a cheap MP3 player so that I could drown out the noises of those losers who play music on their phones at the back of the bus, but that's just as antisocial as the alternative.

It's even more fun when you do it with such classics as Rick Astley's smash hit "Never Gonna Give You Up", or the famous opening theme from that universally loved anime, Pokemon.

I have DJ Yoda's A-Team Theme (minus the spoken intro) as my main ringtone, and Scientist's Dance Of The Vampires as my message alert.

codec sound from MGS.

Me too >_> My text tone is just a tone, my phone ring is the codec ringing noise. I quite like it, it's piercing and loud and actually sounds like a phone ringing.

On the topic, one of my friends once had him screaming and shouting obscenities as his ring tone. Needless to say I'd call him up in a number of public places and watch as he got embarrassed as his pocket started swearing loudly. It only took him a week to work out that it perhaps wasn't the best plan to have a ringtone like that ;/

The title song from TMNT. It's noisy and embarassing and encourages me to answer the phone.

I have the Codec sound for text messages, but the ring ton itself varies from Wintersun, Three Inches of Blood, or the Zelda theme.

My phones are all on vibrate, because suddenly having a song or a loud ringer kick off during my workday would be rude. Every single person who is aware of this fact has thanked me for it, and more than half of them have switched to all-vibrate as well.

Depends on who's calling. I set my rings to songs I know the callers will disapprove of being set to. As of late, between school and work, it's been uniformly set to vibrate.

As for the sound they hear when they call me, is "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.

I have I sound file I recorded. It goes like this.

*Ringing sound*
"What? Who be this disturbing me bathtime?"
*Ringing continues, along with the sounds of someone struggling to use a phone*
"I hate technology!"
*beep*
"Hello? Captain von Sinkenquicken at 'cher service... what? Why yes I'm wearing pants as a matter of fact"

Get's me some really weird looks on the train.

My ringtone is "C'mon, C'mon" by The Von Bondies. I have my cell on vibrate most of the time, so sometimes I can go months without actually hearing it.

My phone is always set to vibrate, but I should really get around to setting the "you got an item" sound from the Legend of Zelda as my text sound.

Just a ringing noise. Anything else is just annoying.

Whenever im not in my car, or at home my phone is on vibrate, but friends calls ring as Never gonna give you up, family is a recording of Admiral Ackbar saying "ITS A TRAP!", and text messages come in as Daft punk - around the world.

To complete the random assortment of genre's, when people call me they get "I feel free" by Cream (Clapton version).

Edit: slightly on topic, a buddy from my old chem class has his ringtone set as the "Everyone has Aids" song from team america, try explaining that when it goes off in a crowd.

I'm with the others who always have their phones on vibrate- it means you can text in class without making an ass of yourself.

When I (rarely) have the ringer on, it's the bass riff to "Hysteria" (Muse), and the text noise is the sound Vesper Lynd's phone makes on Casino Royale. Alarms are "House of the Rising Sun" (the one Muse covered, and just the chorus).

A girl in a class I was taking last year had a text message alert that was, I kid you not, a shotgun going off and a cartridge hitting the ground. Explain that one at the loudest level at 9:10 in the morning.

My main ringtone is "Ascendancy" by Trivium, stupid Samsung won't allow me to give it a text message tone though:(
If anyone has a Samsung G600 and knows if I'm missing something or if it's a universal thing that you can't set a text tone then I would be grateful if you could tell me, give me some closure lol, first time Samsung user over here.

Don't have the sound on my phone very often. But I have the Tundra Rap from the Mighty Boosh TV series on there. Been on there for ages.

For those that have no idea what I am talking about...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IjGNJPNyzU

I had it on from the "Oh my god bit"

I have a good story involving my cell phone and its ringtone.

My old cell phone was a piece of junk. It had a habit of doing things that I did not want it to do, such as turning the volume of the ringer to the maximum.

Do you see where this is going?

One day at a University of Florida summer program, I was sitting in a lecture hall along with a hundred other student waiting for the guest speaker to arrive. The guest speaker was a famous (in her field) lady geologist. Nominated for the Nobel Prize, won numerous awards, wrote many papers, etc. She came in, and we all got out our books to take notes with. She started talking and we started taking notes, like we always did. Then it happened.

"WELL I'M NOT PARALYZED BUT I SEEM TO BE STRUCK BY YOU..!"

My stupid cellphone was playing "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven at maximum volume. Everyone in the room swung towards me as I frantically opened my satchel and began digging for my phone. I turned it off and kept my head down, red-faced, as the famous scientist glared at me as though I had just inected her with Ebola.

Oh well. At least it was a good song. My old ringtone had been the "Crazy Chicken Clucking" one. Imagine if that one had been blurted out.

Mine is Motorola's standard ringtone. I could give two shits what sound it makes as long as it serves its purpose as a phone.
