Well this is hard to choose, but I've narrowed it down to two albums. Illmatic vs. The Eminem show. Illmatic a timeless classic from Nas, The Eminem Show close to a classic but just not there even though it has pretty good production and is made by one of hip hop's greatest. I don't know what to pick

Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold. Yea I'm a freak for their new album, haven't gotten sick of it yet.

Dark Side of the Moon. I mean, really. Dumb question. ;)

Oh, actually, that or Wish You Were Here. I like that one almost as much. Hell, any Pink Floyd album except The Wall. That shit gives me nightmares.

Doesn't matter as long as I have something to sharpen it on so I can swallow it and "get off the island."

Either...

The Mars Volta - Deloused In The Comatorium

Portugal. The Man - Censored Colors

The Beta Band - The 3 E.P.'s

I'd have to close my eyes and randomly choose.

I'd have to go with Within Temptation's 2007 album "The Heart Of Everything". You just can't go wrong with symphonic goth metal.

Octavarium is a pretty good pick, but I'd probably go for some compilation album. =P

Can I be stranded on your island too and fashion a set of drums out of cocnuts and other desert island comodities? We could have our own desert island band!!

But for albums I'd take Appetite for Destruction - Guns N Roses OR The Battle of Los Angeles - Rage Against The Machine

Certainly. We just need to find a bassist, another guitarist and singer and we'd be the Desert Island tribute to Guns n' Roses. It'll be awesome.

If we do, however, i dont want our lead singer going Axl style schitzo and systematically firing us one by one untill its only him and a pile of coconuts with our faces scrawled on them living in his crazy island fort, yet still pertaining to be our cover band

HSIAMetalKing:
The album Touched by the Crimson King by Demons & Wizards. Both CDs, mind you.

I know a band called King Crimson, who have an album called "in the court of the crimson king"
Any relation?

King Crimson (and specifically that particular album) stands at the root of heavy and symphonic rock so it could very well be a reference. The existance of a Crimson King is deeper ingrained into history though, often been used as an alias for the devil, one of the more well known ones from more recent history is from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. So I think it could swing either way, it should be a reference, if they know their music history.

TheGhostOfSin:
Sgt.

Peppers

Agreed.

I was asked this question by my history teacher once...

Suppose you were stranded on an island (hooray!), and had only an indestructible CD player with an infinite amount of battery life. You're only allowed one album to listen to for the rest of your days on said island (meaning actual, store bought CD. NO BURNED MIX CDs. I'm looking at you *pirates*, harhar). Which album would it be, and why?

Personally, I'd go with Octavarium by Dream Theater. Goes through a whole range of moods, so I could listen to any song for any mood.

Haha, that's cool. When i was reading through the first lines i thought to myself "mmh, definately something from Dream Theater... maybe an album with different moods.. Octavarium". Then i read your choice and and got a big grin on my face :D

Other possible choices would be Systematic Chaos or Metropolis: Pt.II by Dream Theater or Guns 'N Roses' Use Your Illusion I & II, if i may count them as "one" album.

That's a tough one for me.

Either The Curse by Atreyu
Or Lead Sails and Paper Anchors 2.0(Yes there is a 2.0 version.) by Atreyu.

All for all, it's by Atreyu, as you all know, my favorite band.

That sounds like a mildly cool teacher. Our history teacher just goes on and on about how we're slaves to the government, how we're going to die young, and why we generally fail. It's a lot of fun.

As for the magically indestructible album, I'd probably have to take Jason Mraz's "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things."

... or maybe "Sam's Town" by The Killers... or Ratatat's "Classics"... or Radiohead's "Best Of" album... or "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" by Coldplay...

That's a hard question >.<

Cradle of Filth's Dusk and Her Embrace.

That one wasn't good, the new one is better (Godspeed on the devils thunder).

I would take cradle of filth - Harder, Darker, faster Thornography deluxe edition.

Ah...the number of GN'R fans here makes me happy :)

I'm gonna narrow it down to 4...

1. Appetite for Destruction - Guns N' Roses
2. Skid Row - Slave to the Grind
3. Welcome to my Nightmare - Alice Cooper
4. Dirt - Alice In Chains

How I would choose I have no idea...

One disc or an album? I'm not saying I'm going for an album with 4,5,6 cd's in it here, but I wanna be absolutely certain of that before I make a decision.
