Oh yah Nirvana gave concerts back then. The Pacific-Northwest was their stomping grown before "Nevermind" hit and it all exploded(no pun intended). There was this little club called Satyricon in Portland, Oregon that Nirvana was rumored to have played their some of their best early shows. It is also supposedly were Kurt Cobain and Courtney "Puke" Love met originally as well. |

Both of my options are based on the "club" look like in the old tapes of the Clash playing, the crowd was right up to the stage and Joe Strummer was practically in the crowd himself everyone was so cramped together. I just think it would be cool to be that close. |

Exactly what I was going to say. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2843 Joined: 1 Feb 2008 | Jeff Buckley Historical note: All that raggedy plaid you saw in the grunge fashion, and the ripped jeans, and the layered t-shirts over long-sleeved undershirts, and the hoodies under the flannel shirts under the leather jackets, and the knit stocking hats, and the Chuck Taylor shoes--that wasn't fashion, that was just how we dressed. And yeah, we really did just let our hair get that dirty. A lot of people did a lot of heroin then, and a lot of weed, which makes you not overly concerned about hygiene. EDIT: Well you didn't see it, I suppose. Most of you were about one year old, but if you did want to go back to see Nirvana when they were on the rise, go back to New Years Eve, 1990, at the Satyricon. Legendary show. |

I don't know, From what I've heard they've always had problems with the "Q" back when it was the Gund Arena. |

They? I'm pretty sure Reznor is the only member of that band. The other guys on stage are just there to play the tracks he is unable to on stage. |

Sure if you have $200 for a cheap seat. Myself I would check out the hardcore punk scene. No particular band in mind, as long as the Bad Brains aren't reggae yet. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 360 Joined: 11 Oct 2008 | Jimi Hendrix, though since I've never used drugs, if I actually made it back in time to see him perform, I'd probably be missing out on something by being sober. Johnny Cash, though, is another big one. I wish I could've seen him live. And, sadly, I will probably never see Bob Dylan, but if I could, I'd go back to the mid-60s, before he got WAY huge and was still playing in dives in Greenwich Village for "a dollar a day." |

If you could go back in time to see just one band who either has dead band members or is never going to play again who would it be? I think I would go back and see The Doors at the height of their craziness. Those must have been some righteous rock and roll shows. My second pick would defiantly be Pink Floyd during their early years. Between "Saucer Full of Secrets" and "Dark Side of The Moon" would good be a good time period I figure.
