I'd pop into "The Works" on the way, across from Starbucks. They've got some of the old Transformer series on DVD for a very cheap price. ;) |

LOL ,I thought that once too, when my Austrailian friend told me that their winter season is in July. I was like "You have Christmas in July?" & they very slowly explained to me that their Winter season is in July, but they celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December like everyone else, which just happens to be in the height of their Summer, & that Christmas is defined by the date not the weather. I felt like a bit of an idiot, but not much, for jumping to the natural conclusion that Winter = Christmas. |

Not really, as temperature increases the weather settles down and becomes more rather than less predictable, any period in history that saw higher temperatures saw more stability in weather patterns, its the periods where its cold that get the unstable weather. The worst though is the periods where there is serious difference in temperature between the planets surface and the troposphere (as was the case during the 90's and first few years of this century when surface temp was getting warmer and the troposphere was largely getting colder). Back on topic, I want some snow dammit, haven't had a white christmas in my hometown since 2000. |

No, sadly, it doesn't snow in SLO. I lived there for a few years and though we had some odd weather compared to the rest of California it was never even remotely cold enough to produce any snow. You'll be bottoming out at around 40 degrees (Farenheit for the rest us). Still though, snow or not, I miss SLO :( |

At least you get snow. Down in Texas we never get snow and lowest temperature I've felt in awhile was around 45 degrees, which, compared to other temperatures that have been listed so far, is definitley not as cold. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1554 Joined: 10 Sep 2008 | well if it starts snowing here something weird is happening since I live in the desert, strangely enough if I travel an couple hundred miles north I'll be in the part of the state that gets around 156 inches of snow annually(last time I checked), strange ,one part of the state is a desert the other part gets snow all the way through march probably even later then that. |

On the Record Posts: 6466 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 | Seeing as nobody answered this particular question: Most of Australia never sees snow. Ever. Unless you climb a mountain. Some Australians go their entire life without seeing it. I have been to one of the aforementioned mountains. It's bloody cold and not worth it, your all crazy and freezing. |
