Whoever you support in this election don't do the same thing previous young voters such as ourselves have done.
Don't be an apathetic voter.
It's our responsibility to shape the world around us and in nearly every previous election the younger voter turnout has been pathetic, if your a new voter like myself don't let that happen again. Get up early and go to the polls and vote, (it doesn't matter which candidate) otherwise we're wasting the freedom that we have been given.

for those of you of subpar intellect or who have never thought about voting in an american election before:
you CAN NOT be punished for voting, if your employer refuses to give you time off to go vote call the cops and the ACLU, and a good assassin if you know of one, then tell them what time you expect to be back and walk out the door, they are required to let you do so by law.

you cannot be fired or lose any loans/support/enrollment or the like because of voting.

no presidential candidate is a terrorist, im fairly confident that they check these people quite thoroughly.

Well i refuse to get out of my chair for 2 very good reasons, the first is that 1 vote doesnt make a difference becuase whether or not i cast my vote does not affect whether other people cast their vote, aslong as i dont attempt to convince others not to vote then the overall result remains unchanged (assuming one candicate doesnt win by 1 vote and then i will be kicking myself). The second reason is i'm not american :D

Some people where i live didn't get stickers, but i did.

I am 18 years of age and this was my first time voting. It was quicky easy and painless. All i had to do was wake up a half an hour earlier then i used too.

Yes, I voted this morning, and I seem to be one of the only people to realize that BOTH candidates suck ass. McCain mostly for his choice of running mate. If he had chosen someone like Ron Paul, he might have gotten my vote. Obama has never really taken a stand on anything. He has voted "present" on over 140 issues. He talks the talk, but he doesn't walk the walk. I think he will be the sock puppet of whoever has the most pull, and the PLO has had a lot of pull on him (why don't people see this). I voted for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitutional party. Yes I know the independant won't win, but I voted for the person who I would want to represent me. And UltraJoe, voting is a choice here (not manditory) and I know of a few people who chose not to vote because they felt a little like I do. Many say they would chose the lesser of two evils, but that is still voting for an evil. In that case I have no problem with someone chosing not to vote. However, I think it is smarter and more patriotic to do like I did and vote for the candidate that actually represents you even if they are not with the 2 most popular (an most wrong) parties instead of just not voting.

but did you get a sticker man? Thats what is really important! Stickers are the the thread of our universe holding the fabric together and binding it tight. If i had not gotten a sticker i would not have voted!

Getting all kinds of serious here, Proposal 1 was a big issue for me in voting. I heard a lot of stupid people yelling crap like "Vote Yes on Proposal 1! Legalize Marajuana man, hell yes!" I want to slap them all with a palm of rage! Proposal 1 (in Michigan atleast i dunno about anywhere else) is for Medicinal Marajuana, MEDICINAL. Stuff like this could help my poor aunt with MS and retarded people vote for this crap for all the wrong reasons. Thats just me ranting at stupidity thou. Voting shouldn't have a age limit it should have a stupidity limit, our super nano mega laser computers should laser beam stupid people who try to vote >.>

Ron Paul officially backed Chuck Baldwin, that is a big reason why I voted for him.

I can't vote, not being an American citizen (and that p[eeve]s me off; your election will have a pretty significant effect on how I live, but I have no say) and all, but I do encourage American forum members of legal age to get out and vote.

Make your voice matter, and back it with the minimal effort of filling out a ballot that other peoples have literally died to exert.

Yes, I voted. My ticket was all the minority parties (in an order I forget) followed by Liberal then Labor, for both the lower and upper houses.

I paid a US friend in game currency to vote McCain for me. So even though I'm a citizen of the UK I voted.

Of course I voted for McCain to hear more awesomely stupid speeches like Bush's (hot water for dehydrated babies anyone?) but at least I voted.
