Painting positive or general words, scenes and figures, ART. Even if it's controversial it is artwork as long as it was commissioned or the views were shared by the owners of the property. If you can get a degree in spray paint art at UC-Berkley I believe it should recognized by the masses as an art form. Vandalism Art |

I'm glad that a lot of people understand the art form behind the graffiti style, but I'm annoyed that people are clustering tagging with scrawling. I'm a formal graffiti artist, a writer or bomber, depending on the region and style. This means that I go out and do spray bombs on selected areas, and follow the original rules for graffiti art. This is not to say that it isn't illegal, this is also not to say that I'm not guilty of scrawling. I am not guilty of tagging. now, before this starts a flaming session, let me clarify what the original rules are. 1. bombing is art, give it a meaning now, let's clarify a few things, scrawling is meant to sign your name, use it to sign your artwork, some use it to show what routes and paths they use to get to their location (so when you see one of those hard to reach places with a tag, look for a scribe on the ground level) I admit that I scribe on the way to a site, but it's always out of the way I'll be impressed if anyone actually reads this far into the thread. I won't post any of my work, you have my graf name, look for it in Canada sometime. |
