Perfectly rectangular sandwiches.

They scare the crap out of me. There used to be this poster up in the window of the Cooplands I passed on the way to get my lunch when I was at school with three perfectly rectangular, thick sliced sandwiches perfectly aligned one on top of the other.

Creeped me out to no end.

Ah my house is haunted I see a lot of scary stuff. Like once a shit-load of spiders started crawling out of the cracks in the floorboards. I once woke up with about 10 bruises and a few cuts down my left arm.

Great example of the "uncanny" which creeps me out entirely as well...

For me its suburban developments where each and every damn house looks EXACTLY the same save for some minor color difference. Over all the palette of colors are of the same intensity, same value, and around the same tone, and the lawns are all perfectly groomed....creepy

this thread is terrible. no explanation, save a 1 sentence blurb, nothing intrigueing about it, it seems remind me of all the other dumb threads we have had here at the excapist in the past couple months, meanwhile interesting threads, such as the one about if life would be better without games need to be resuscitated.

I have only seen the first three, and I am scarred for life...and I am now desensitized to these horrible, horrible things.

It was in a dream... it looked like it would never stop zooming in, never stop giving me the close-up of the most horrid and disgusting face i've ever seen, the claustraphobia, the buzzing noise that felt like a dense atmosphere crushing my ears into my brain while that THING screamed at me and... IT KEPT ZOOMING IN. ZOOMING IN! Into the ugliest mug in the universe. As though I wasn't CLOSE ENOUGH, it KEPT GOING IN AND IN AND IN.

That was scary alright, yea.

I was in a plane and the engine stalled out. Seeing the ground rush up to meet me was probably the scariest thing I ever saw.

Saw an IFV get hit with an AP round. Fuel and ammo went off inside, the people still alive fell screaming out of the back and burned to death seconds later. That scary enough?

Well technically it wasn't something I've seen, but the scariest experience I've ever had was when our college dorms were locked down because there was a gunman on campus. This was about four or five months after the Virginia Tech shootings.

Scary day.

Not much scares me more than popular but inexplicable beliefs; religion is the obvious example: usually harmless, until something like gay rights comes up. Or the fact that hundreds of millions of Americans actually voted for McCain; have they been living under rocks for 8 years, or what? Which relates to the completely illogical choices of authority people make, sometimes leading to disaster (*cough*global warming*cough*).

for me it would probably be when I was upstate staying in a log cabin with my dad and a friend. I was sleeping on the top of a bunkbed when an alarmclock that sounded like mine went off causing me to jump out of the bed falling 8 feet onto a nightstand smashing it. Bye this time I had no idea what was going on and still thought I had somehow fallen 8 feet from my 3 foot high bed. Thinking that it might have been something very supernatural was going on, started screaming "What the fuck, what the fuck, WHAT THE FUCK!!??". my dad and friend thought it was hilarious, even though I was still in shock.

Nice , I would've laughed till I started bleeding if I was one of the people there .

Really , the scariest thing that happened to me was WAY back when I was maybe 8 years old . I jumped over this chain/roadblock thing , I remember managing to jump over it a few times , but then my next memory after that I found myself lying on the ground. There were medics leaning over me , and there was a HUGE crowd around me , and I can't remember a thing .

When I woke up , the medics decided that I was fine , so they let me go home with my parents . That day was blur to me, the rest of the day I felt all confused and woozy. The next day I was back to normal. Now that kids , is my story .

The second scariest thing would have to be the day my little sister was born... no seriously , it was I creepy day , I was like 4 years old then.

I'll edit it in later.

EDIT: Okay then , so I remember going to the hospital , then I remember going back home for whatever reason(maybe because I was 4 years old) . Now it was a perfectly normal day ... until I got home . As if on cue , a HUGE thunderstorm came , it lasted for like 3 hours . When it was done me and my dad went back to the hospital ,but on the way there , there were fallen trees EVERYWHERE , tress I remember standing up normally and all , and the sky was still all dark , like there was no sun , just darkness and a little bit of light coming from nowhere .

look on the bright side, at least those god damned blasphemous atheists don't control our god fearing nation. I mean imagine if they got control, equal rights for gays, religion separate from state. Science running rampant and smearing the good book. First they'll take away our right to be christian where ever and when ever we want and then they'll take our guns.

The explanation is quite clear to me: your sister is the Antichrist. The very Heavens wept and gnashed their teeth at her birth.

A movie about demons at age six. I've seen it since and it's laughably terrible, but for about 6 years I used to have nightmares about the movie. Not one of the worst but It still scared the crap out of me for a long period of time.
