I'll have a Sam Jackson. Drink, bitch! --- I also want to try some of this Hobgoblin you all speak of. Can I find such beer here in America? If so, where? |

About Sleeman Breweries. I haven't been to Guelph very much (maybe once since the brewery reopened) so I didn't know that the old site went so, er, speakeasy-like.
We get it in Ontario (the province in Canada, not the city in California) through our liquor stores; there's a small section for imported beers in many locations here. I don't know how it's done in the States... maybe try a liquor store that orders imported stuff a lot, and see if they have any on the shelves or are willing to special-order some in for you. -- Steve |

Dave Chappelle parodied a Samuel Adams commercial on his show by pretending to be Samuel L. Jackson. He just screamed obscenities at everyone until they drank his beer. Best clip that show ever put out! Should be on youtube or some part of the internets if you want to watch it. |

Certain bottle shops in Australia have it. I tried it because of it's reputation and I thought it was good, but not great. My personal fav is the Holgate Mt Macedon Ale, but that is made by a local Victorian brewery so I don't know where else you can get it. |

I ideally favor a bottle of unpasteurized Guinness from Dublin, Ireland. Don't forget: Guinness is good for you. |

well it's been a strip club for a long time, probly 30 years or so, before the brewery reopened |

It's a Canadian beer |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1083 Joined: 11 May 2008 | I'm a Guinness man along with the OP, for several reasons. It's heavy, but less carbonated, and being that I'm in college, nearly no one will drink my beer if they find it sitting around. But Guinness is expensive where i am...So i'll settle for a Bud if i have to. I'll do imports too, and a good wheat beer seems to be my current favorite. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 464 Joined: 6 Nov 2008 | Hoegaarden. I'm not a big fan of lager - or champagne or wine, for that matter. I guess I never acquired the taste for bitter drinks. That's probably why I like Hoegaarden, since it tastes fruity. |

Jamaican Lager Beer. All we drank at my uni house last year. |
Video Producer Posts: 1108 Joined: 19 Feb 2006 | If the beer is dark enough that you can't see though it, then I probably like it. Most everything else might as well be water. When I can, I have been trying out a few varieties of Irish Reds lately though. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 846 Joined: 9 May 2008 | It depends on the situation. If I want light beer that'll leave room for a big meal, then I go for Blue Moon with a slice of orange. It's light yet still smooth and not bitter. I hate bitter beer. If I've already eaten and am not full or if I'm just snacking on bar food while watching a game or something, I'll go for the darkest, thickest beer the place has. If they have Guiness on tap, I'll do that (not in bottles nor cans as it just isn't the same). If they don't have that, I'll go for the darkest micro-brew they have. There is a micro-brew in Vegas where I live called Barley's that has an excellent dark stout. It's as dark as Guiness with a nice thick foamy head yet it doesn't have the same "burnt toast" kick to it that Guiness has. It tastes more like home-made dinner rolls and is nearly as filling. |

I second that unless, like I said in an earlier post, I'm saving room for a big dinner. I love the very dark, thick stouts but they fill me up too much to have with a dinner. |

It tastes like a smooth pear cider with the full bodyness of a good beer. It got a fruity flavor but is never too sweet and it's the most brilliant beer I've ever had. That and Pumphouse's Blueberry Ale is also a great brew. |

Mmmmm... Sleeman's Honey Brown is my Go To Beer, when I'm not going to The Hop In Brew for the best beer in the world. Also, Leff is REALLY good (German or French, not sure, only found it in Europe) I also had this incredible beer in Amsterdamme which I cannot remember for the life of me what it was called, it was either Dutch or German. EDIT: It was called Hertog Jan, I just remembered. |

You gotta try Firestone Double Barrel Ale. Delicious, delicious beer. Unfortunately, only available out here on the West Coast... maybe I'm not going to move away...
