It's nice to see a lot of the regulars are supporting old Iron Ninja. I remember back in the day, a few months ago, Iron Ninja was one of the first personalities I became dimly aware of on the forum.

It helped of course that he completely derailed my Samurai vs. Knight thread with his bloody, admittedly funny, drawings. I think the thread got locked after you paint murdered root_of_all_evil.

Ah yes, here we go:

image

Is that Gerald's brother? Accomplice? Wife?

Wait? Why are they killing Root? He's so loveable and jolly.

Just to be the echo of everyone else, good job and I look forward to more.

As for a cameo, if you ever have need to put an arm (or electric razor. They have those in midevil fantasy worlds, right?) into one of the panels for any reason, you need look no further.

LOOK AT ME IM AWSUM XD

You know, this is probably supposed to be just for humor, but your writing could really use serious work. I do realize that writing for a professional publication can turn me into a huge prick, but seriously, I found the first comic made you look rather full of yourself, and the second just dragged on and on and on.

The drawing is pretty good though. How did you do it? It looks like it was drawn in MS Paint, but with either an incredibly steady hand or a waycum tablet.

The steady hand one, I have no idea what a waycum tablet is.

I wonder how I would make a cameo...

Something involving the Clock Tower Sandwich, maybe?

Anyway, keep up the good work, Fe. Ninja!

EDIT: Waitaminnit, THAT'S why they call you that!

I kid myself and pretend it stands for "Fucking excellent", but most people here did science in school, so I doubt I'd be fooling anyone with that.

In terms of Cameos, first I would need some kind of idea as to what Mr Krunk would look like, and then I would need to know what the hell the clock tower sandwich really is.
And there lies your challenge. What the hell is the clock tower sandwich? and how the hell would I be able to portray it in a picture?

Okay. I thought his hat was his face.

So I was confused.

Oh no. My first thought is how I must somehow be responsible for this.
I approve of my avatar being used in this context for any reason with the exception of sexual innuendos or actions of any sort.

Well now you've confused me too.

Hat... Face?

How far through did you get before the whole "oh, it's a hat" realisation?

Aw dammit, I knew I forgot something.

I'll put this in the OP, but I have to give many thanks to Anarchemitis and X434343 for giving me the idea of making a thread for this comic (instead of attempting to make my own site, which I can only assume I would suck at)
I'm not sure if I should give away this plot point so soon, but I believe PurpleRain would like to have you as his nemesis in this, I'm not entirely sure why, but I have a hunch that it has something to do with Larenxis.

I applaud you for the effort, since I would paint one scene and loose what little work ethic I have. Not to mention the comedy is there, which is essential for a comic in my mind.

"Quiet you." -- I'm so saying that next time someone beats my logic.

I had to read comments about people commenting on his face before I went "WAIT HIS EXPRESSION DIDN'T EVEN CHANGE AND WAS CLIPPED IN ONE PANEL AND.. oh wait"

I wasn't falling over with giggles, but I did smile the whole time, and I felt a bit warm and fuzzy afterwards. To the naysayers, no, it's not the best comic evarr... But it makes me smile, and it makes me want to make you some cocoa, FeNinja. So draw on, I say! I want to see more long comics with obscure references!

(and, sadly, I was not quick enough to be the first to point out the Travis Bickle reference... damn!)

Also as an aside, you don't use a tablet PC? Damn. That's impressive.

Fair enough, the second one does go on a bit.
I think I said this before but I'm planning on having shorter comics (like the first one) in between the long ones.

Also I have to ask this? (to everyone)

Why no love for Fred?
He was my favourite character.

Edit: I think the clock tower sandwich is more of a state of mind than an actual physical sandwich, but I'm not sure. At one point it was even a spaceship.

I liked Fred. He seemed half-Chinese. Also, Awesome. I want more fight scenes like the dopefish one though.

I love Fred! But I love old sage characters that answer in, "Whasa?" like they've been sleeping the whole time... And in my mind, even after the story begins, he keeps rambling to himself about how it's always time for yarns and back in ought-six, he heard a whopper of a yarn and...

You get the picture.

I'm getting to those, but I needed an introductory thing first (or at least I thought I did).

Ah, well then allow me to remove the question mark from the "thankyou?" earlier.

Also, was that a spatula you held in the frame with the dragon fight?

EDIT: Gah, I don't think properly, of course it is. You are the Iron Ninja.

Great, this absolutly something I'm going to look forward too. One quick question though. Is this a weekly thing, or is it just whenever you finish? I would suggest you make it a minutely thing, but thats just me and everyone else here at Ye Old Escapist (*Wink* *Wink* Bar in Themis *Wink*).

It's good to know my contribution to the comic is so important and yet so unnoticed, it makes me feel special.

Good job Rusty, may you continue on your paint based travels.

Ha, this was amazing. Though I thought the land should have been 'Escapist' and the barbaric lands outside would have been the rest of the internet.

But anyway, 'Yay! Escapist webcomic!' Made by Escapists, for Escapists.

There will be two comics simultaneously.

The longer comics which will take me up to one week to make (the second one took me about 5 days of occasionaly adding panels)

I am also considering doing a short (6 to 8 panel) comic not set in Themis which will appear some time between the longer comics, these will take something like one or two days (depending on my energy levels) but since I'm working on the long one at the same time they will only appear once a week as well.

But I will be posting them as once I finish them, I'm just aiming to get the long ones done in the space of a week, but I would prefer to finish them sooner.

You all know who you are, so feel free to tell everyone.

I thought "escapia" or "escapistia" would be a bit too obvious, so I went with Themis (as in Themis Media).
There will be other lands outside that represent all the other sites on the internet though, but for the sake of being safe for work I think I'll avoid showing a representation of any of the chans, other than the trolls/daemons that cross over the border from there.

Wow- was there any part of that post that was constructive criticism, GenHellSpawn, or shall we label you as the Escapist's second resident grouch?

Iron Ninja, I thought it was decent. Not as awe-inspiring as the Commander Keen one, but decent.

To GenHellSpawn, I say 'Bah,' as well.

Yeah don't worry about him, after seeing some of the stuff he's written in other people's threads as well, I've decided to just write off his opinion as unimportant.

And the awe inspiring battles are still to come, you just wait.

I thoroughly enjoyed these comics, and was surprised and happy that Larry is included in the comic, I've grown to like the fellow considering how many times Ive killed him in various situations.
