3rd comic be here.

image

Many thanks to PurpleRain for the original premise of this one.

I've got a lot of ideas for the longer comics, but I've already run out of ideas for the shorter ones (and by looking above, you might notice that I didn't even come up with the idea for this one), so if you can think of good ideas for the shorter comics, PM them to me and some day it may well end up being made.

Oh and my sincerest apologies if there is a forum goer by the name of Notarealperson, I meant no offence.

I'm here, mostly to comment on how I'm sure that Ultrajoe does indeed where Maximo-style heart-boxers.

Otherwise, another great comic which never fails to impress. Good work, as always, Nate.

Ironing with an armoured hand is not average, it's EPIC.

And also, make me into a punch clock villain who tries to make the world as grey and uninteresting as possible. It would make my life a little more awesome.

I've always wondered what the rest of UltraJoe looked like......

Very nice, but I felt that there wasn't enough demonstration of UltraJoe's Ultraness.... Maybe 3 times of Ultraness would have been great, but just one leaves the audience wondering if it's just a party trick.

Well, by the audience, I mean me.......I liked it- you could release an extended version with a bunch of other awesome demonstrations, like Lord of the Rings!

I'm just a tease aren't I?

I'm pretty sure the actual Ultraness of Ultrajoe will show through a lot more when he appears in the longer comics, where many epic battles are to be had.

It's a comic, everyone has heart-boxers.

Like a mercenary, but with none of the badass.

Anti Villains who have no real grudge against the heroes, but are simply doing a job they're getting paid for. After hours they're totally personable joes who go hang out like anyone else. Most Punch Clock Villains are not even particularly mean.

Yeah why not.

For some reason I have a bad habit of posting things like this late at night when I should be getting some sleeping done, so apologies for my apparent disappearance from here on out until tomorrow.

You do realise you've opened a gateway to every single forum member asking to 'do one on me!', don't you?

That being said...DO ONE ON ME!

I can be the insane conceptual artist who is but a floating head. I can spout gibberish while fighting crime with my partner Iron Ninja. I sense a flashback story!

The Iron Ninja:
Chances are, if you are a reasonably well known escapist (which pretty much everyone in this thread is) you will be having a cameo at some point.

The problem is with people like Fire Daemon that don't have human-like avatars, as I will have to find ways to turn things like floating yellow heads, fractals and weird spiral shapes into human shaped beings, of course for Fire Daemon it will be slightly easier, since dragons wouldn't be that out of place.

If anyone has suggestions for how they would like their character represented, feel free to suggest them here.

So, I take it that, fish food carl, Jamanticus, and I are getting cameos.

*high fives fish food and Jamanticus*

I know how I could be included. Simply have me as some kind of vortex thing, perhaps a portal of some kind. Pretend it's a wormhole, or something along those lines. Returns high five!

What's not to understand? Iron Ninja and fight crime. I am a former conceptual artist who speaks 'jive' who happens to be a floating head. We fight raptors from the moon.

Geez, some people.

That was pretty cool but I perfer the story driven comic more. I want to find out what happens to Jim, Iron Ninja, Garry and the rest of the gang.

Don't hold out on me man!

EDIT: It's actually Larry but maybe you should introduce a character called Garry so we can find out what happens to him.

*Squee*

Well, thats my Ego trip for the year.

If i may say, the Cairn Terrier portrait was a much appreciated touch, the Ultradog approves greatly. His Ultratail wags.

But if i may say, your best work has been the longer story comics. While i understandably adore this comic, so much so as to make it my wallpaper... you do open the gates to user 'do me' posts and sell your talent short. I loved this for the novelty, and did lol heartily, but you genuinely made me laugh with your other two because they were... funny. Not that this wasn't nice, but the other two stand on their own feet. You don't need to know about me or my catchphrase to get them.

Now i have to do some Ironing.

HOW THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS IN PAINT?!

I am more awed by the fact that you're doing this well--in MS Paint, for the love of God!--than I am by the moon landings.

Well done. Now bring us more story comics.

like sum1 as cool as you would do normal stuff

lolololol

...
Okay, for the sake of novelty, I'm going to leave that, but I'm deeply regretful that the humor calls for such unhappy grammar.

That being said, I believe this is my first instance with the Ultrasquee, and I quite like it.

Hey Joe:

Considering this was part of the appeal of the comic to begin with, this shouldn't really surprise anyone. Especially since it was designed to be Escapist-centric.

That being said, I'm kinda curious how, and if, I'll be portrayed in the comic. But, no hurry, I'm not going anywhere... Or am I?

Now I realize why I didn't like the first two: because of my deep-seated envy that no comic would ever me done about me. I cried myself to sleep that night, and now I know why.

maybe you'll be a transformer, but instead of transforming from robot to a car, you just transform from one robot to another, which would probably difficult to draw and confusing to the reader, but it would be awesome.

Yeah I do, as NewClassic said that's one of the main appeals of the comic, but I'm going to feel like such an asshole when people requesting cameos get turned down.

To be fair, the glowing forge and hand bits were done with my shoddy photoshop rip-off program.

Apparently you're not the only one that likes the story comics more, so I think I'll be putting more emphasis on those ones, and occasionally doing these short ones whenever I can think of something to go in them.

And if Larry has a brother or a father, I'm pretty sure they would be called Gary.

Iron Ninja and I fight crime. I am a former conceptual artist who speaks 'jive' who happens to be a floating head. We fight raptors from the moon.

That... That's actually a really good idea. It would be odd, and I have no idea how it would work it's way into the story, but it would still be awesome.

Magical clockwork robot, in search of the one thing his insane creator couldn't put into him.
Love.

Well I know it's been three whole comics without it, so I guess you've given up hope that it'll appear at all now. But it will show up eventually, since Krunk was the first person to suggest the comic in the first place I guess I owe it to him to feature it.

Well, that was...somewhat confusing.

Anyway, now I can say what I wanted to say when I read this in my "quoted" folder.

The Iron Ninja:

To be fair, the glowing forge and hand bits were done with my shoddy photoshop rip-off program.

That's kind of odd, considering that I thought the fire effects and the glowing hand were the worst parts of it. The way it's styled, the fire looks more like a glowing pile of coals--but the glow is way too big for that. And I think the hand would look better with a bit less glow. If you look at something that has been heated until it's red-hot, you'll notice that it's only red around the center. The edges should still be the blue of the metal.

Just some stylistic advice. If you attempt fire again, my suggestion would be to draw the flames and then add a small glow effect to each individual flicker. If you had Photoshop I'd tell you to use the smudge tool as well, but there's only so much Paint can do.

Due to the jovial mood I'm in from being un-banned, I'm feelin' the need to tie up all the loose ends (sort of like Ebenezer Scrooge, I even said "bah!" before).

GenHellspawn:
Now I realize why I didn't like the first two: because of my deep-seated envy that no comic would ever me done about me. I cried myself to sleep that night, and now I know why.

GenHellspawn, I appreciate how hard that would have been to say for you. And since I'm in my jovial mood, I think you might well be gettin' that place in the comic you've always wanted.

Tiny Tim:
*cough* Please sir, I'm starving

Not to worry little Timmy, I'll buy you a whole chicken for you and all your little friends to eat.

But seriously, there's gonna be a bad general who sees that he's on the wrong side and does something heroic, like rescuing an orphanage from PurpleRain or something.

I don't know when I'll be drawing fire or glowing hands again, but when I do, I'll try that, since even reading your words I can see that working a lot better than the way it is now.
