did you get your free doctor pepper? thats about the only thing i care about with this album
I voted Guns n'Who because it stirred a laugh :D
I love GnR, but I don't know why I don't give a fuck about this album. same with Metallica.
I haven't heard it and I doubt I'll get it. Slash, Duff and Matt really took the spark plugs from that band when they left. Although you probably could have guessed my opinion by my avatar lol.
When Slash, Duff and Matt left that was it for me as far as GnR were concerned. Like Metallica classic GnR is much better.
I like classic GNR and i also like this album too, but i like most music so bleh.
Will probably find a copy of this album from my mates, but I definitely won't be buying it. Have only heard one song on the radio and it was ok. Nowt like "proper" G'n'R though.
heh. I remeber seeing the release announcement on the crawl on AOTS, and my first thought was "it's not April 1st."
I love GnR's music, but I really don't see the link between them and Chinese democracy. Someone explain this to me plz.
I'm sorry, but this song is just too weird, because, and I quote the song:
Their new album has been (will soon be?) released. It is called Chinese Democracy.
it's a song, see my above post for bit of lyrics
I have yet to hear any songs from this album, and I am dreading it. When the disaster of an album "spagheti incident" was released I mourned for the loss of a fantastic rock band, like most of you, I loved their early stuff and since the bulk of the band has moved on it will never be the same again.
it's fascination not masturbation, lol. EDIT: Never mind your disgustingly right..
I just listened to it, I'm sure its masturbation.
Not a fan of GNR so I frankly don't really care about the album. What is really amusing is that China is apparently really mad at them for the title.
I don't care, but then again I've never liked Guns 'n Roses; from the looks of it it seems like it's an Axle Rose solo album.
I dunno, this albums just kinda trashy. Lots of effects, very little substance. It's "alright" I guess, but I'll probably listen to it twice and forget I ever even heard it.
Exactly, without the rest of the band Axl has just been able to indulge himself and add far too much production, as he always tried to do. Its not a bad album it just isn't GNR. It's Axl and his friends spending years in a studio.
I really couldn't care much for GNR and I like most music but this album just bores me nothing makes me want to listen to it again also it has an advert in the UK claiming it's "the mot anticipated album of the decade" which is far too big headed for a band on their last legs.
hahaha yes! The album is all over the place. That might be a product of how long it took to make and how many people are on it. It sounds like a mix album where the same singer is on every song.
Wait, Chinese Democracy was actually real? Like it was actually being worked on? And it was completed?!
Thank the heavens I found this thread! Luckily I just found a step-by-step guide to making this GnR stuff good! 1. Replace it with a new Paramore CD.
Are you saying that a new paramore CD is actually good, or are you using this to point out the tragic of how dead rock is?
HA! person who listens too closely to songs just to hear dirty words, awaaaaaaayyy! How come everyone else is so much better at those jokes them me?
From what I've heard its way worse than classic GnR, which is amazing to me as the old stuff is complete crap to begin with.
I wasn't listening too closely to the song, I just brought up the lyrics because of your post...
I was talking about me...
Ok. So, I'm listening to Chinese Democracy, the song, and I can't help giggling. It's not what would conventionally consider shitty, but it's way too produced. The term overproduced just doesn't do it justice. No rock song needs this absurd level of production. Hell, I can't even think of a pop song that requires it. The multi-tracked vocals sound horrible, and as other users have pointed out, the lyrics are absurd. I never expected Chinese Democracy to come out. So, I wasn't sitting around expecting it to be the best album ever. I can't say I'm disappointed, but my opinion of GNR was pretty neutral. I mean they had a few good songs in the 80's, but they had the worst song structures I ever heard. The multiple solo breaks in Welcome to the Jungle just seem entirely unnecessary. Perhaps the coolest thing is that the album is already banned in China. If I was in a major band, I'd certainly like to have banned in China on my resume.
In my opinion, the album is a good album. It's just not a GNR album.
It's called Velvet Revolver. Check it out sometime.
What about Steve Adler?
It really didn't create the reaction I expected, I got really excited for it but when it got released I didn't even bother listening to it, I guess that the anticipation is half the fun.
I really never liked GnR to begin with. There one of those bands that I don't outright dislike, if a song of theirs' comes on the radio I probably won't turn it off, but it was never really my cup of tea. So yeah, couldn't really care any less about it coming out. Although as someone above pointed out, the music industry now needs another "Duke Nukem Forever."

I Have just obtained a copy of the album I have been waiting 14 years for. GN'R were mr favourite band in my teens and I have to say even though the new album is less raw than the now iconic appetite for destruction it is still a great rock album. What are your thoughts?
