Muckraker Posts: 311 Joined: 28 Sep 2008 | Hmm , good question , I guess I chose Phantom because that's what I use for pretty much everything. I could have probably gotten it without the numbers , but in everything else I end up having to use the numbers , so now I just use the numbers. |

I picked a name that wasn't available, so i tired adding 1 then 2 etc.. then eventually i just got bored and typed "205" and they just stuck |

BANNED Posts: 6317 Joined: 29 Nov 2007 | My original name was Harapgishkal. But across countless eons I found that people stopped speaking Sumerian. They also found it hard to pronounced my name. So, I translated it into "the King's English", which translated my name to, "Thy Necrology in thy Swanson", however that was too long, so I shortened it to The Necroswanson. Press Junketeer Posts: 400 Joined: 1 Nov 2008 | Molikroth was the pseudonym Mephistopheles, Archduke of Baator and ruler of Cania, used in a plot to exterminate disloyal minions. He staged a coup against himself, posing as "Molikroth", waited until everyone who was going to join had done so, and incinerated the lot of them. I chose it because I work a lot like Mephistopheles. I copied the above plot to the letter in a text-based game I play, and liking how effective it was decided to use the name. Besides which his personality is pretty much the same as mine.
I also use a dozen or so other names in various sites. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2077 Joined: 1 Jan 2008 | This is the name I made when I made my first foray into online multiplayer at the ripe young age of 12 with Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Suffice it to say, I'm surprised all the other kids I find online these days are swearing, attention whoring pricks. I had a pretty good experiance online and with the community, and many people didn't even bother asking my age (I didn't use VOiP, but I probably acted really mature or something). |
Press Junketeer Posts: 363 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | I used L's name from Death Note, because that guy is awesome, and then I just added 12 and 50 because L is the twelfth letter in the alphabet and 50 in Roman numerals is L. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 2347 Joined: 21 Aug 2008 | The name black lincon originally comes from a story i told to my friends about the illegitimate son of Marry Tod. I like it so much I made it into my warcraft 3 user name and gained the nickname black. Being that I am whiter that anyone you have ever met, I found this very funny, so it next became my gamertag. At that time the story changed from 19th century bastard to quarter ninja, quarter pirate, half Italian with a genetic defect causing an abundance of melanin in his skin, who gained the name black lincon after stopping an illegal human smuggling operation in New York with his Neo like powers and master swordsmanship. The name black lincon was so synonymous with me I just brought it here. Me thinks I though to much into this. |

On the Record Posts: 5314 Joined: 10 Aug 2008 | I chose my name because it's my generic gaming name... Don't know how it came up, but i think i was playing some old MUD game years ago, and made some stupid dark-ish character and the first name that came up in my head was Gormourn... So i m still using it in most games and some forums to this day. |

I'm just really curious why/how people chose their forum names.
I chose mine because Orannis is the villain in the Abhorsen series of books.
