I'm a full-time student but I also work at a Greek restaurant part-time. I've previously worked as the meat department bitch at Safeway and the entire freezer staff at Costco. The restaurant pays less per hour than either of those (though I make enough with tips to put it over Safeway), but I wouldn't go back to either of those other jobs regardless. I like my job quite a bit - shifts go by fast, it's a really great restaurant, meals and drinks are 50% off, and I often end up with free food.
I'm a law student. I sit in a library studying people debating all the time. When I'm not doing that, old retired lawyers or Judge's clerks who couldn't cut it in the real world rip me apart all day. When I'm not doing that, I'm screwing around on this website, writing stuff for the webzine that puts up with me, or begging for a job. Before this I was a filing clerk at a government office. I taught creative writing for a bit, was a line cook in California, and edited manuscripts for a publisher in New York for a brief spurt. Before that was sweet, wonderful, glorious college where I was an epic frat dude who organized parties and kicked it with the lotus eaters. Video Games were pretty consistent throughout all of this.
Right now I am blissfully unemployed and a full time student. I dislike spending money, so what I have will easily last me until summer. That said, I have position lined up for the summer at a historic site, the kind with people wandering around in costumes and making cynical remarks about the tourists. Its like Clerks, but with more flamboyant outfits. Good pay, too.
Lawls. I WORK at GameStop. You don't want to work there. Really. You don't.
aspiring clerk aspiring to be a musician? Are you really going to school so you can do something that an uneducated guy can do? Well, I guess English majors have to do something with that degree. Personally, I'm a Nuclear Engineering student.
I'm a student , and for some reason I want to be a newspaper editor. (or magazine/website editor would be great too.)
Student, aspiring author that does odd jobs to stay funded. I personally love it, but then again I have simple tastes. I'm kind of like a modern Rip Van Winkle, but more industrious to his writing. Oh, and I didn't fall asleep for 20 years.
By day i'm a business student, by night I work at Target as a cafer, dayside logistics, and occasionally work salesfloor and answer customer calls/other store calls. Which bothers me not one bit(to do oddjobs) cause I get paid 20% more than anyone else there that's not part of the exec team.
I look after intellectually handicapped kids as of right now, next year I'm going for a Bachelor of Eduction, and if that works out, then I'll be a primary school (thats elementary school for those of you of the American persuasion) Teacher. That's right, the next generation of children are going to get their education from the likes of me, scary thought isn't it?
i do support for a software company and get to avoid being eaten by bears while out on support calls i should be an admin at one point, not always into the support thing, gets kinda tedious and crappy dealing with ppl being jerks all day on the phone
Dragoon. Oh.... | |
Will they learn how to make web comics? What grade are you hoping to teach?
I'm going to college and working part time at Food For The Poor. Doing whatever the hell they need me to do on a given day. Which ranges from driving to pick things up, to manual labor in the warehouse, to making spreadsheets.
I'm a handyman/mechanic at the local scrapyard/junkyard. I basically go find random crap people are looking for in the old carcases that litter the yard, be it a 83 Toyota pick-up fender to a 01 PT Cruiser fuel pump. It's a great, fun, and unique job, though the hours can be a little rough at times.
Indubitably! I have no idea how the grades thing works, but somewhere between 5-12 year olds, whichever one has the best balance of intelligence to snarkyness.
A student at the moment but I hope to have something to do with science, preferabley some sort of forestry. I want to work at any store I can get a job at, except Mc Donalds, and make money!
| |
student, that's about it. I go to school and write...
Full-time student, but I used to be a cashier at my local Giant grocery store. And before that, I was a cart monkey at the same store.
As my profile says, I am a professional hobo wrestler, the pay is okay, but the real satisfaction comes from the virtue of the profession.
full time student(Junior- majoring in interdisiplinary studies..i.e. elementary teacher.) but also work 40+ hours a week at a Dr. Pepper distribution warehouse. Good money when your only 19
I am a frozen foods worker at the local supermarket (-30 degrees Celsius most of the time) I get paid $14.10 an hour (this is NZ$ btw so you may want to convert that)
What have I done? Many things across many areas, from corporate to field work. What I do now is work as an Adoption Assistant for the RSPCA. I do a lot more than just adoptions, but it is my job title.
I used to work at gamestop, but then I had to move up to Cal Poly SLO, but fortunately there's one up here too. Ah, such good memories of that place...
I'm a 'crew leader' soon to be shift manager at a Wendy's. I also play music gigs for extra cash, although, as a long-term career goes; I would love to be a writer. I have a nasty habit of only wanting to devote my life to things that have a large probability of not working out. I guess management positions at resataurants could be a safety net for me, so to speak.
Student and work for the Bakery section of a nearby grocery store part time. Cheers to packaging cookies, working with giant ovens (big enough to fit at least five people into), and still managing to freeze because of this bloody Canadian winter.
I'm a student and I dont have a job. I know, it's pity but noone wants me or they just can't be bother informing me whether I'm in or not. I hate life.
I really have only one "Job". I do however have like 8 billion sources of income. My "job" is delivering food for Yuppies who clearly can afford to tip well but obviously prefer having their loved ones and possesions destroyed. As for the things I do for money that aren't my "job" there is Pimp, Cult leader, Mob boss, Thug, Idea man, Welfare cheat, Hitman, Giggilo, C.E.O., Garbagman, Con artist and I do a bit of insurance fraud on the side.
I love topics like these. Probably because I like blathering about myself. Ah well. I'm a full time student in college, also doubling as a broadcaster monitor for an online broadcast company. Which would sound more glamorous if I wasn't a plug jockey. I grab cable, jerk cable into slot, press button, receive Outside of that, I'm something of an internet enigma. I do a lot of review writing when I find the Outside of that, hobbyist by and at large. Mostly, though I student. Which is no fun, but it... has bills to be paid. That's what the part-time job's for...
Murder. Murder, sometimes rape, and more murder. Safe to say, The Necroswanson loves his job. Except for Tuesdays. Tuesdays is bizcaztue, and wacky tacky tie day. Necroswanson hates those days.
I used to work the register at a drycleaners, until I got fired, but that was probably for the best because if I had to put up with my prick of a boss for one more shift I would have hit him with a stapeler.
I play with other people's money.
Thread started out nice, but now there's some creepy stuff going on... I'll bring 'er back. Finally found another job. It's a position with a company that fund raises for different organizations. It should blend in nicely (believe it or not) with my future goal of law enforcement. I have to start deciding if I want to join the RCMP (every Canadian police officer wants to don the Red Serge and Stetson at some point) or find a regional police service. The choices.
I sell games part-time, tame squirrels on the way to work, and look after a manchild the rest of the time.
| (Pages: 1, 2, 3) | |
Pretty simple, what do you do for a living?
What have you done in the past? Future?
I'm a student and I hope to work at GameStop and then make a band as the bassist.
