The glorious occupation of student. Of the university variety. No part-time work on the side, much to the frustration of the family.

I'm a student, sophomore in high school to be exact, and work part time at my local GameStop.

Full-time student (IT + Networking) who is hoping to get a summer job at IBM, apparently the biggest and most efficient in Australia. For those who know IBM where do I live around?

I have been a Chemical Engineer for about 10 years now. I used to work in the chemical industry directly. I dealt with dangerous chemcials everyday. The job I had before the one I have now, I would have to spend about 5-6 hours out of every day in a full face respirator and about 4 hours a month in full Level A hazmat suit with an SCBA (air tank). It was dangerous work, but I was paid well to do it.

After 2 dangerous spills at my old job, I decided I liked living more than my huge paycheck - so I quit and went to work as a Research and Development Engineer for the worlds largest Snackfood Manufacturer. Ben here over a year and it is the best job I have ever had (and I actually make more $ in this job, so win-win for me, but like I said, money really doesn't matter). I spend every day now in a labcoat and I have a shaved head... that is where my avatar comes from, I am so like Dr. Farnsworth.

The Kind Cannibal:
I'm a handyman/mechanic at the local scrapyard/junkyard. I basically go find random crap people are looking for in the old carcases that litter the yard, be it a 83 Toyota pick-up fender to a 01 PT Cruiser fuel pump.

It's a great, fun, and unique job, though the hours can be a little rough at times.

That sounds like a pretty sweet gig!

I'm currently a full time student, part time geek squad agent. I get paid to tell you your stuff is broken.

I think my title says it all :) It took me 6 years of school and 8 years of experience in sales and marketing to get here.

I am a mild mannered full time arts student by day. By night I am the head bouncer at one of the local clubs.

It is fun stuff. I get to see all the stuff I read about in class in action. It is like watching an episode of national geographic every night. Only occaisionally I have to play "Steve Irwin" and see a moron to the door. The only problem it is all reruns involving the mating habits of the sloppy drunk.

The down side it that it seems sleep is out of style, and early classes get missed. But when I do get out, I do have the best drinking stories:D

I change oil and repair tires at the Local Wal-Mart. Pay isn't bad, but could be better. I like my job enough that I come home in a good mood. Of all the possible jobs at Wal-Mart, I think I have the best one...

Uh... there's an IBM in Canberra (Central City IIRC - it's been a while) and Adelaide (on the city ring - greenhill?) and IIRC one in Melbourne and probably in all the other states as well so I'm going with... Australia.

I'm currently employed as a contract network administrator for roughly 30 companies and a 7 day schedule. I've done stints in Helpdesk, Electronic Data Integration, Industrial Espionage (heh), Law, a metal band (leopard skin mafia - vocals/bass), Programming (mostly internal applications), teaching and looking after handicapped kids. I've also done voice over work for advertisements and was once an extra on All Saints (not that that is something to be particularly proud of I think).

All in all I've done too much - but I've always been on the path to being an IT.

Edit: And the pay is not bad considering.

Full-time student, but I used to be a cashier at my local Giant grocery store. And before that, I was a cart monkey at the same store.

Hold on...are you me?

Wouldn't be the first time. But no, I spent two years as a cart monkey, six months as an swesome cashier, then I went off to college, and then it was now, and later it will be then.

I'm an office monkey. It's a great job, as the fact that it's so menial and mind-numbing means that I have plenty of time to think about real stuff.

I'm a Biomed student at the minute, speaking of which I really should be writing a report about now...

I have worked as a part time gardener in the past which wasn't too fun.

I hope to become a professional biomedical scientist or if I'm good enough I'd really love to get a job as a film critic, just for like a local paper or something.

Pretty simple, what do you do for a living?

What have you done in the past? Future?

I'm a student and I hope to work at GameStop and then make a band as the bassist.

Lawls.

I WORK at GameStop.

You don't want to work there. Really. You don't.

This. I did too...it wasn't as glamorous as my imagination led me to believe. Money? Cars? Women? Fame? Oh, they are there...but only in the games you sell.

On topic: I work as a producer at a radio station. Basically, I put together commercials and imaging for the station! Audio editing 5 days a week.

Nice.

Currently I am an logistics manager working for IBM, I manage a team of 20-35 trained technical engineers across the country working under a variety of contracts.

Previous to all that I did a degreee in T.V production here in Manchester and majored in producing. I worked with some very talented writers and performers including folk that wrote for the adam and joe show and Mike Gibson who was presenting for MTV.

After graduating we had our own company Infringe films and produced short films to a small an#mount of success. Hopwfully will get back into when I move to Leeds next year as work and travel take up alot of my spare time.
