Ok maybe this is just me, but im a major fan of anime, and everyone seemed to like naruto, so i tried it (in japanese of course) and ended up watching the whole thing, but to be honest the series felt pointless after the first little saga when the fought the ninja with the massive sword (which was not very stealthy). I loved it cuz all the fights where intense and filled with very interesting emotions and mini story arcs. Did anyone else get upset that they kept Naruto going.

I was expecting you to complain (rightly so) about the 100+ episodes of filler from the end of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc...but...you thought it should have ended after the first story arc?

I'm a very big fan of Naruto - then again, I was thankfully warned about all of those pointless, unrelated, irrelevant episodes after the 'end' of the story, and am enjoying Shippuuden, and I really don't get what you're trying to point out;

Barely anything, development wise, happened before the end of that first arc - if anything, that arc was to introduce the main characters, and let the audience become comfortable with them...

So, what you are essentially asking is, 'Was I upset that the series continued after it had only just started?' at which point I would scoff and call you a silly goose.

If your question had been 'Was I upset that episodes 136 to 220 actually had nothing to do with Naruto', I would be in the Very Much So category, but with what you seem to be arguing, I couldn't disagree more.

honestly since the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, the show isnt the same for me, and i dont like that a unlikely (well for me) secondary character ends stealing the protagonism in the series.

Yes.

Just yes, nuff said for me, I expect everyone else here will basically give you all the complaints I agree with.

It upsets me greatly as possibly the most annoying show I've had to suffer through. And I'm not an anime hater. I've been known to settle down to the occasional anime myself, but Naruto is just obnoxious. EVERY character is ALMOST ALWAYS yelling in just about any circumstance. There is another reason that i don't like it, but i can't quite place it. But something about it makes me very very very very angry.

I hate ninjas, I hate Naruto and I really wish this fad would just die. Take hinata out, Put her in a high school where the Tough girl with the heart of gold and the obnoxious rich girl whos scared and lonely inside fight over trying to win her affection then slowly torture every other Naruto character to death. Simple as that.

"Ninja" in orange track suit + FILLER-O-RAMA! = Very upset butter.

Once I was (barley) able to get past the whole "ninja" thing, I actually liked the series, but then the flood of fillers happened, and I decided it wasn't worth it. Now (my brother and) I no longer watch Naruto.

I like Naruto. It was an average idea that's shown promise and evolved. It's no Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, but it doesn't need to be. It shouldn't really have been about ninjas, though -- a true ninja series wouldn't be good as a shounen.

Contrast that with Bleach, which was an awesome idea that has suffered immensely from poor pacing. Wait a week for some other protagonist/antagonist to unsheathe their sword and proclaim that yes, the opponent has activated yet another of their Trap cards? No thanks.

Naruto is not really that bad, I don't hate it but obsessive Fads are always annoying, no matter what they are for.

Currently I'm enjoying Hero Tales and Macross Frontier, though both are only alright. Macross Frontier irritatingly makes everything highschooly, but I've bought into the soap opera aspects, so I'm already lost.

I used to watch and like it pre-time skip, one of my favourite moments was the episode with Naruto vs Neji.

Round about the Star Village eps is when it went downhill.

I just read the manga, can't really get filler episodes in manga, although I haven't read it in a while so my knowledge on the subject is a little lacking.

Naruto ranks as my third favorite anime right now, behind One Piece and Hellsing Ultimate, and my second favorite manga, behind One Piece. I really like One Piece.

I didn't really like Naruto until that amazing battle on the bridge between Zabuza and the good guys. Then I got into it like you wouldn't believe. Though the fillers did completely ruin it. Except for the one where they go to the Sound Village. That was actually alright. The fillers should've ended there and they should've just started with Shippuden.

Fillers aren't always bad though. The Garlic Junior saga in DBZ is my second favorite saga. Behind the Android/Cell saga.

Same here. Only I am just twiddling my thumbs waiting for the English version of Shippuuden to come out. Not saying that the Jap voices are bed, I just can't force myself to watch that much television with subs. Hell, I almost didn't make it all the way through Kung-Fu Hustle.

100+ Episodes of filler?! Bejaezus that's bad, fillers suck.

Naruto as a character really annoys me, and the fanbase is completely fucktarded. But I might try to get into it (no promises).

I was surprised at how adult these Japanese kid's shows can be, in the sense that I heard Usopp from One Piece say: "SHUT THE FUCK UP!". That was... weird, and cool. Not like these shitty kid's shows nowadays where they suger-coat everything. I'm not saying I want more kid's shows to cuss, but some tougher material would be nice.

Like Project A-KO? But without the wierd alien race.

But much as I kinda liked Naruto, the constant recaps and flashbacks made me hate it.

I though the series was really good, even through some of the fillers, but something seemed to happen where they fired one of the artists and now I can't watch it anymore. I still read the manga, but the anime is over to me.

Okay, i like the anime alittle. The fightings interesting and plus...i jus tlove gaara.

The only thing that I really hate is when they do flashbacks to each of the characters about what they went through. I mean, its a good way to see how they are but keep it short! I cant count how bored i was when i managed to Sasuke Retrieval arc, even though there were some nice fights.

Naruto upsets me because of the stupid following following it has and idiot narutards who seem to love making life hard for the rest of us normal people who enjoy anime but don't take it to the point they do.

and before you ask, I watched at least 10 or 15 episodes. its gay. so very gay (which made me disappointed...I expected alot better really)

Narutards grind my gears also. I am a fan of Naruto to an extent, although it doesn't even come close to other stuff such as Rurouni Kenshin and Berserk. I only read the manga, after the show became a travesty, along similar lines to Bleach. Filler episodes hurt me.

The story in the manga is a lot more flowing, and anyone who enjoys Naruto should forget the anime and read the manga.

Gigastrike. In response to your spoiler, I won't believe it. No matter how much I re read it. I will either stay in denial forever or the writers will do something. :)

Real ninjas don't wear orange jumpsuits and yell "Believe it!" And yeah, I know that's just the english version, but he still yells too much. Maybe if Iron Ninja made an appearance on the show I'd watch it.

Its the only anime I have seen alot of besides DBZ (my misspent childhood) and I don't mind it. Mind you I was watching the japanse ones with fansubs, so it made more sense than the english version to me anyway. all the stupid filler does annoy me though.

I've been forced to watch this anime while I was babysitting. Otherwise the kid would cry if I say no.

All I can say it this. Anime about friendship will always stay either boring or meh... Altought I'm not an anime fan, I can read manga.
Naruto and bleach are what I call DBZ clones in costumes. One super new power pops up every few second.

Also, typical cliché's are everywhere
Rivals?
Protagonist with a questionable IQ, but turn out to be some ultra strong guy?
The most boring love interest?

The last anime I watched from this kind was Trigun. Which was good. (at the time).

Naruto as the manga, i love to death. Hell, im probably the only one out there whos faovorite character is the main protagonist himself. I even like the anime when they arent drowning the show in flash backs or filler.

the only thing i dont like is how friggen stupid the general fan base is. Afterall, there arent bleach-a-lites or one piece-ophiles, just Narutards.

I actually like it... Ok ok you're right, the show could remove 40 episodes and it still wouldn't make a very big difference in the story, however it is one of those weekly things that pull the stress out of my brain and actually stop me from going into depression. Monday: Dexter, Wednesday:House m.d. and Bleach, Friday: Naruto and Vampire knight. Those people who actually managed to live long enough to watch the series to Shippuden will be surprised because it was pretty much a terminal shift and I think for the better.
