Why the F do you want to Fing know? Are you some kind of F police, staking out Fers who say the F word? Who the F are you to Fing tell me anything you Fer! Some Fing people I Fing swear!

But I hardly ever use the F word or any bad language for that matter.

Does anyone else find that the bleeps of censors on TV is actually funnier than the word? I don't know why I do but... I just think it's funnier that way. something about it.

It sometimes is, but when they re dub some parts... They did it on the Sci-fi channel. "Mother f***er" was redone as "motivator" in some movie I was watching.

I hate it when they re-dub profanity, it just sounds so cheezy, I like it when they either blank it out or bleep it. Re-dubbing is funny in a sad way though.

Bleeping out words is in itself funny, but the comedy gold is found when the bleeping completely changes the subtext.

If I didn't say "fuck", I couldn't quote the Big Lebowski as often as I would like.

At all, actually.

This is the funniest thing I've seen all day. Another good use of bleeps is when it gets to the point where most, if not all the conversation is bleeped out to make you fill in the blank.

Could be the funniest thing I've ever seen. That was great, I can't believe how well that worked.

I only use the 'F' word whenever I'm angry, like alot of people do.

Saying it all the time it just because you can kinda makes you look ignorant and childish. But if your mad when you say it, then its understandable.

I usually prefer to give people the middle finger to emphasize the word. But I think it is losing power.

Gordon Ramsay knows how to make TV shows good. Hes not as good as Alton brown, but I really think hes fascinating to watch, and I'm a vegetarian.

Incidentally, what does someone with Tourettes yell if they don't know swear words...

You know, Tourettes is about a 'tick', an involuntary movement that occurs constantly. It doesn't have to be 'Fuck', or even a word for that matter; it could be something like a flick of a wrist.

Now, as for the word 'Fuck', it's just a word. It has no meaning to it unless you give it meaning. I swear quite a bit, but it's more about saying something, not that I have any sort of preference for the word.

I use it all the time. Far too often. I work with a bunch of 20-something year old guys loading trucks, and even in that group I'm considered profane. I make military people cover their ears. I'm simply a terrible, TERRIBLE person when it comes to profanities.

Nope. I just made a very subtle joke. In all seriousness though I don't swear at all. I'm way too meek a person to dream of saying a bad word.

Sounds like me until my senior year of high school. I was ridiculously meek, then cut loose, and it was all downhill from there.

For me, it all depends on my comfort level and my relationship with a person. Also, I'm sort of a chameleon, so if I'm talking to a jovial person I'm a lot more gregarious, but if the person is dead serious then I'll be serious also.
I actually sort people out in Sim terms, believe it or not, if I don't have enough information to determine their MBTI.
In general,
Outgoing/serious people scare me.
Shy/serious people make me say "c'mon lighten up."
Shy/playful=Me
Playful/outgoing people are just fun :D

I'm Australian so outside of work fuck gets a vigorous work out. I used to be meek but like my daddy always told me. "If you are going to swear just do it, holding back makes you a pansy to be walked all over in life."

Besides I prefer everyone fills their literary blanks with fuck than with. "You know yesterday where we went to that place with the, like old people, and they were all old and stuff."

I live in Australia.

Swearing is not so much taboo here as a means of punctuation.

It's very true, and painful as well with the Bogan accent.

"EYYY FARK YEW!!! CARNT!"

Please don't bring up bogans. It pains me to see them freely tossing that word inbetween every second one while talking to their children. Then they yell it out load in the middle of the store when their kids scatter and act up due to their poor upbringing. Just makes me want to say it right about n- fuck.

Fuck if I know, it's not like I fucking count whichever fucking words I use whenever I make some fucking smalltalk.
I generally only use one-word curses when talking with friends, it's like adding an exclamation mark, only with sounds.
When in contact with people that I don't know I either use a moderate language, or very long-winded insults, depending on the conversation.

Sometimes. Mostly when something goes wrong or accidents happen to me. In more normal conversation I use damn, macnabbit (don't know why, sounds fun I guess), shit (agains if something goes wrong) or helvede (or Hell in english) and lort (shit in english) if I want to curse in danish.

Only when mad or in particular situations. Personally for constant vulgarity I prefer the almighty C word.

i shamefully use it quite alot, but when approriate. many people swear to seem cool, or fake anger. when a word like that is used so often by people that dont mean it, it begins to loses its meaning.

people that swear in reviews alot dont relise how un professional it sounds. but with out the seriousness, i only use it when needed, which seems to be alot.

"AMERICA............................."

Nothing wrong with a big of swearing really. I get annoyed at regional dialect with some people and think that's about the same on the offensive scale, especially Brummy :P

It's not like 'fuck' means one thing and only one thing. Some people use it as a sentence-filler but it's also a great way to emphasize a point and it happens to be the better choice of words in the bedroom than 'do', 'hump' and 'bone'.

Nothing wrong with being un-professional if it gets the point across.

It's a crutch for a poor vocabulary.

That is poor argument. Part of having a good vocabulary is using the best word at the corret time, in the correct way. Sometimes "Fuck" just says it better then any other word in the thesaurus.

It's also very versitile. It can be a noun, a verb, an adjective, an adverb, and much more! Plus you can add to it. For Example, Fucktard, Fucknut, Fucktastic, Unbe-fuckan-lieavble.

I object. The word of this topic is NOT a noun or an adverb... It is a verb (Fuck it) adjective (this is fucked up)

I use it, not all the time, but occasionally. I'm usually using "shit" or "damn" when I'm in a regular mood, but when I'm mad, I usually use it a lot more then I normally should and do. When I'm pissed, "shit" and "damn" are out of my vocabulary and replaced with "fuck". Especially in games.

sometimes, yeah, but I hear kids from like, 3rd grade say it all the time just to sound cool. NO. Swearing all the time does not make you look cool. It makes you look like an absolute tool.

Fuck is going to lose it's impact if you use it casually (which probably wouldnt be that bad)

This has already happened here in Ireland.

Yes. Yes I do. It depends who I'm talking to really, though. I almost never use it in writing (apart from on MSN) but I swear freely when I'm with my friends. Occasionally I'll get self conscious about it and try and tone it down. Nthing the suggestion that the whole "It's a replacement for a poor vocabulary" thing is rubbish, because it is. My vocabulary's expansive enough, thank you. It's just that no other word has the impact of a swear word, and particularly the F bomb.
