I don't think anybody really gives a shit about post count here, thats why I keep coming back. There are a few people who are quick to cry 'SEARCH BUTTON OMG' but they usually end up getting ignored anyway. As for pysical pain, I broke my wrist and it was pretty damn painfull. The nurse said it was called a 'banana' break, one of the most painfull breaks possible apparently. |

Beat Writer Posts: 209 Joined: 15 Aug 2008 | Did you know that the reason a small pain like stubbing your toe feels worse than say breaking an arm is because your brain recieves the info from the small injury faster than the big ones? Apparently our brains are wired to gives us the feeling of pain much later for a big injury like a broken bone than say like a cut on our fingers because for one adrenaline will kick in for a big injury and also our brains will turn off the pain receptors (sp) to keep us from going into tramatic shock. While on a small injury the area of pain is smaller and so less info needs to reach the brain meaning also there is less need for adrenaline to be used because your brain knows it's not a traumatic injury. Fucking awesome right?! Also since we're on the subject this didn't happen to me, but when I was younger my neighbor fell on this stack of T-posts (the posts we use for barbed wire fences) and the spiked end cut into his knee causeing all the fat to come gushing out of his knee. It looked like strawberry yogurt with cottage cheese it was brutal. he started crying and everything and had to get like 12 stiches or something like that it was AWESOME, |

Apart from those, nothing of note really. I hope i'm not saving up catastrophe. |

Infamous Scribbler Posts: 672 Joined: 8 Nov 2007 | Got hit by a car, caused a dislocated shoulder, various bumps and bruises and scratches as well as a torn ear and a contusion. Stayed in the hospital for a week, nurses were great, food was meh. Had massive headaches for about four months afterward and I believe my right shoulder isn't as flexible as my left and my right ear has lost a bit of its accuracy. The double splintering of my right pinky due to two bowling balls clashing together onto it makes for better cocktail party conversation though. I can almost hear the Looney Tunes theme whenever I describe that one. corroded: |

The worst physical pain I've been through that I can recall is when my hip popped out of place(something you'd think only can happen to older folks) while jazz running during band camp 3 years ago. I couldn't move the lower half of my body by myself for 2 weeks. Not really sure if that was exactly what happened, but the x-rays didn't show anything. OH, and nip piercings are reallyyy painful btw. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1600 Joined: 1 Nov 2008 | I broke my wrist after I fell off of a chair, landing on an ironing board leg. I was 4 years old at the time, but I can still remember the pain. Also, I was 14 and had the crap beaten out of me by this older kid, just for sh!ts and giggles. And other kid's amusement, which made it even worse... |

Opeth is worth it. On topic: I broke my wrist whilst snowboarding, which was pretty painful, well not that painful, but still quite irritating. The worst part is that I had to board for about 10 minutes or so to the nearest elevator with my broken wrist.-_-" |

My sister thought it necessary to demonstrate to me when we were younger. It sucked the ass. As for my non-sister-caused owies, a car hit me on my face when I was about eight, I fell off a nine foot high branch and winded myself on a protruding root when I was about nine, and I lost a fight horribly about six months ago. |

Beat Writer Posts: 150 Joined: 7 Nov 2008 | It's a toss-up for me 1. When I was about 10 I accidentally shoved a pocket knife in between my thumb and index finger turning my hand into pretty much a fleshy pita pocket 2. A week before my 21st birthday I tried to "judo" flip my friend (we were both 250lbs) and landed on my shoulder. You know that sound when you're preparing raw chicken and you twist the joints backwards to break them apart? My shoulder sounded pretty much the same but quite a bit louder. It hurt so bad I was puking on the way to the hospital. When they did the x-ray they made me hold a 15lb weight to see how much separation there was which caused my arm to drop putting the ball of my shoulder against the middle of my ribcage. Completely separated ACL, 3 separated tendons from underlying muscles, detached clavicle, and a torn deltoid. 3. I was being stupid in woodshop and was drilling a hole in a stick of walnut for absolutely no reason. One of my classmates called my name and when I looked at them I released my grip of the wood and it spun on the end of the drillbit and hit me in the testicles about 15 times before I passed out and fell over. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1615 Joined: 16 Jan 2008 | Most painful... I broke my right arm at the joint. I can bend the bugger slightly backwards, so I fell over, extended my arm to catch myself, extended it too far, so when I fell the joint was pushed too far and snapped. The ball of the elbow then slammed into the nerve that runs down my arm (well, one's arm), knackering that in. So, elbow hurt like hell and the side of my forearm and hand felt like they were on fire. Good times. |

You're lucky; you had painkiller. I smashed my head open and they decided to stitch it together. No pain-killer, no anaesthetic. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1094 Joined: 11 Oct 2008 | Nothing broken, yet. Tendons of my left knee were almost ripped, walking to the bathroom became a pain in the ass, once tripped and hit my right lower leg heavily against a sharp edge, every time it bumps into something (and it ALWAYS does) hurts like hell, and many many accidental cuts when I was younger. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1515 Joined: 12 Dec 2007 | Car Crash: Bit my tongue in half - long ways. Teeth went right through my lower lip. Hairline fracture along my jaw. Snapped my clavical clean in two. Gearbox slammed up and broke my wrist. Major bruising obviously. Guy who hit me was an illegal driver; provisional licence, no insurance or tax. He came round a corner too fast after trying to jump a bridge, skidded right in front of me, no time to react, just remember bright lights then extreme pain. Car behind was tail-gating, came into the back of me. I had no airbags, if I hadn't have worn my seatbelt would have likely been the walking dead; okay for 30 mins then just drop dead of internal injuries. Happened on the 23rd December, had to eat through a straw for three weeks. What do you think the bastard got? Driving without due care and attention - 6 month ban. No insurance, no tax - £455 fine. My insurance excess - £550. A ruined christmas, had to re-take a year at uni, took about 3-4 months before my functioning got back to normal. How is that justice? |

My nose was flattened, three major breaks and I needed surgery. Oh and I bled for about an hour straight then felt dizzy. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1557 Joined: 31 Dec 2007 | When I was about 12, I was climbing a massive tree with my mates, and what looked like a sturdy thick branch was actually dead and hollow, I plummeted about 30 feet, and the spike of a council fence drove through the back of my knee. I had to have surgery, and be in a wheelchair for 3 months, then crutches for another three, and stay out of anything physical for another 6 months. I still would eb disallowed from professional sports... It even affects me today, I had to brinng in a hospital report to work saying my knee was well enough to lift boxes when it gave way a few months ago. And I've been told it will never be the same again. I miss playing football... |

When I was 6 I was really into Judo. One time, we were practicing break falls and were doing this one where you roll forward. Me and my brother were doing them at the same time and he rolled onto my wrist when it was bent back. I had sprained it, but my teacher wouldn't believe me and made me do 50 press ups :|
