There is depth and intelligence to Spongebob Squarepants. You just have to look beyond the facade and more importantly, use your
imagination! |

Hahahah. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you I know have played CoD4. Once you know that shit will happen, you're not so surprised by it because you expect it. Sometimes, even when you're not expecting it, you're still not surprised (by this I mean you're not thinking about it, but were not really shocked). The only real thing I can think of to surprise you is if you were expecting something else. |

Oh LAWD the end is comin'! The Mayans said so! Warn the villagers, round up the sheep! Cover the well! This should bring a few people together. But the rest will be on killing sprees. Heck, if the world was gonna end and I knew it? I'd be burning down my place of work. With nobody in there, of course, I couldn't live with myself as a murderer. But then again, if the world was gonna end tomorrow, I wouldn't have to! Still couldn't do it though... I'd be a dissapointment to a medieval era father.... Tut tut. |

Bad news gets more publicity, hence more viewers watching, hence more money for the news station. In my opinion, there's a balance in this world. Good will and evil will have always coexisted in this world, and will continue to do so. The only real difference now is that technology has brought about a significant increase in communication, and because of that interconnectedness we now get to hear all about the shit we never would have known previously, and therefore would have thought that the world was all hugs and butterflies. |

I've known people who take such things to heart, who worry about The World, and not only does it eat them alive, it makes them less effective in trying to change things for the better. Being horrified at everything and then adding the despair that "nobody cares anymore!" to it only doubles up on the psychological damage. The challenge is to become desensitized enough to keep going without falling victime to disillusionment, despair, or disgust. The problem is not desensitization, the problem is that people use their desensitization as a justification for doing nothing but griping about the bestial nature of the human race. Just because you've grown accustomed to them doesn't make these things inevitable and doesn't mean it's futile to choose to keep caring about it. |

The sad part is I haven't gone to a better planet, I am still on *this* planet with all the uncivilized people. But don't take that the wrong way - all I am saying is that the general public is a bad thing, not the individual. There may always be some asshole to ruin things for the rest of us, but there's always some great person to cheer you up. I still love my family and friends, and I still think there's a lot of great places to go and people to meet. I don't know what kind of animal I'd want to be. Mostly one that eats meat and gets to have sex like 40 times a day. :) As far as a person being a waste of flesh, what I meant was that some people are so evil-hearted that the ability for them to take on the form of flesh and blood and be alive was wasted on them. Yes, there are people that bad. Just not so many that I get all bent out of shape about it. It's just how it is. |

It's like Stalin said: the death of one is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic. It turns out more people cared about one dog being starved to death by some jackass then millions of innocents being killed in the "War on Terror". Go figure.
