i can think of a few...

remember firbys?

what about poochie? ..

these two toys where famous for no more than 3 years..

Ugh Furbies and Poochies were awful...

I have some of these creatures from the 80's called Popples, god they are awesome. Not the new ones though. They are hideous...

http://www.alaska.net/~jnoble/sailaway/sales%20pics/chippurple.jpg

I have the purple one. ^_^

I had popples, and the new ones are truly hideous. And I had a furby. But he died, :(
I didn't have anything obscure. I had transformers and Barbie.

Every toy from the 80's has been recycled, except one. We've had Transformers, GI Joe, Cabbage Patch Kids, Masters of the Universe, Star Wars, Pound Puppies, Care Bears, and Strawberry Shortcake. The only one missing is M.A.S.K. I miss those...little bitty guys with vehicles that turned into other vehicles, like an IROC Z Camaro with DeLorean doors that turned into a plane. Ah, memories...

Polly Pockets and Mighty Max. Polly Pockets still exist today in one form, only they no longer fit in your pocket, which I assume was the whole point.

Back when Lego had the good ol' 9V Motors. And didn`t suck.

Mon-Chi-Chi's....that song still gets stuck in my head and I wanna scream.

Micronauts (original release, circa '77-78) were the bomb.

Panels & Girder for those who couldn't afford Erector sets.

Electronic Dungeon's and Dragon's by MB.

Teddy Ruxpin? Shogun Warriors?

Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine.

Stretch Armstrong followed by Suckerman.

Dinkie's dicast Space 1999 ships...Eagle 1

I found this page which was kinda fun to peruse: http://www.timewarptoys.com/gallery.htm

I miss Popples, and the Russ Wrinkles dogs.

I also miss the much more powerful Nerf and Nerf clones of my childhood. Costco for a short while sold non-nerf nerfish bazookas, which fired this mortar-like rocket so gods damned hard that it could shatter windows. They were pulled because one of them broke a little girl's ribs (something like 5 broken ribs from one shot), which just proves how kickass they were.

Seriously, LEGO has got to be the greatest toy ever made.

OHHHH....I just wet my pants....I had this Starbird as young boy, and it was one of my Favorite. There was a second released later, the Space Avenger/Intruder (1979) which was black.

I miss my Star Wars action figures. I remember when I bought Luke Skywalker his lightsaber was bent and Han Solo disappeared the day after I got him for Christmas. Ah, to be 6 again.

Lego used to be awesome. Then it stopped. Lego, Lego, how I miss thee.

This is funny because I had a dream about Mighty Max recently, where I was in one of those things. It was creepy, yet epic. Also, I would like to add POGS to this list. And, on that same note, SLAMMERS, which were way cooler, though both wre necessary.

Okay, I know I have a lot of images here...but this thread is a boon of euphoria to me. I love thsi jaunt down memory lane...Forgive me for the pics:

I had this Big Trak (+ trailer (not pictured)):

I don't think anyone said tamagachi lol

But other than that I didn't play many toys I was on the sega genesis when I was younger lol.

Mutant League Football and Hockey FTW !

I'll just link to the article
While everything on that site's list is something people would want to forget, they still deserve to be mentioned here.

I miss it already.

that article was awesome

i remember most of those toys, and now i want my own radioativity kit. although knowing me i would have just thrown the uranium at spiders and tried to get superpowers

Legos, they used to be awesomepants, some of them still are.
But anybody that tells me that Bionicle, or any of the new themes (like exofighters, or whatever) are LEGOS, is wrong.

I miss it already.

That strikes terror into my heart.

How about a little boredom with Domino Rally! The domino set made of plastic but for lazy people who would rather have a little cart set all the dominoes up for them, yaaaay!

Toys Colonel Gentleman wishes he had when he was a lad, but they weren't invented yet:

Micronauts
Scooby-Doo monster game
Which Witch
ATAT Imperial Walker
Stay Alive, the survival game!

"RUNNN IT'S NUNZILLAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Though due to protests by the pope. it is not."
"STILL WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS NUNZILLA"
"Though it isn't"
Both---"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

I miss my army men

i still have my 30gallon box of Legos. think i'll keep them for the kids... or drunk building!!

QFT

I'm surprised that no-one has said Lincoln logs, or speak and spell (To tell you the truth that one scared me a lot)

Strangely enough my friends, and I were talking about old toys last night. My friend told us the story of how she got a Puppy Surprise (Plush toy dog with Velcro hole in stomach that holds little puppies) for Christmas and her grandmother thought it was cute until my friend ripped open the mother dogs stomach, jammed her hand in the opening and flung out the little toy puppies.

Mirco Machines!

The original trampoline, sure it caused numerous injuries to everyone that used it but it was fun. Now days we have these padded, springless, caged in things that offer nowhere near the bounce; and you can't even jump off one into the pool.

Oh man I did so much damage to myself as a kid by playing "superhero" and launching from trampoline to pool

Sucked away most of my childhood. Combine them with Star Wars Lego sets? Bliss.

I wish they still sold those gundam model kits in retail stores, those things were fun to build.

Didn't play with many toys in my day and age... I had a few Bionicals and the such, but I primarily used Blu-tac to model. It was weird; instead of the regular play-dough, I used the regular ol' Blu-tac, which I found was a lot stickier than its entertainment-purposed counterpart.

LMAO! "...and a list of Hollywood actresses who need a shmack in their shmart mouths..."

There was this one sweet toy I had, I can't remember exactly what it was called, but it was this starfighter type thing that had a handle like a gun on it and it would light up when you shot it. It came with a video tape that had a kind of anime style cartoon where it was like you were flying around in the fighter battling enemy ships. It told you to shoot at these flashing, seizure-inducing lights to make it seem like you were actually shooting the other ships down. Anybody else ever have that?
