It's not really resolved though... I'm not sure if that WAS a stock image or if it was Skullcandy's logo that got ripped, either by the Escapist designers or whomever they get their stock from. I'm going to investigate further. I'll contact Skullcandy and see what they have to say. |
CEO & Publisher Posts: 587 Joined: 12 Nov 2002 | Virgil brought this thread to my attention, so I investigated and spoke to the artist who designed our shirt. She confirmed she was inspired by the Skull Candy logo, but had felt that there sufficient differences in the two designs that it wouldn't present an issue. While it's ultimately a judgment call, we've decided that we need to err on the side of respect for a fellow business's logo. It's just the right thing to do. Accordingly, this shirt design has been removed from The Escapist storefront. If we are able to speak to Skull Candy and they see no issue, then we'll restore them to stock, but otherwise they'll be out of circulation. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention for investigation. |
