I believe it all started with Attack of the Show, at first I wasn't too phased. I mean we still had great shows like Electric Playground, Cinametech, Judgement Day, and Filter back when it had to do with games! Then it started...Next Generation...Cops....The MAN SHOW! (That show was stupid on Comedy Central,) a show about people puking?! I mean ok, Ninja Warrior was an ok show and it had to do with Japanese culture which is inevitably linked to technology so ok, but....Why all these other shows?

Then they had the balls to begin changing the shows I still clinged to. They pussified Xplay and took it away from what it was, a game reviewing show (Ok half of it is game reviewing,) they completely canned Electric Playground and Judgement Day, they took away the guy from Cheat! who actually looked like he might know something to this little brat who doesn't look like she'd know a Gamegear from a GBA (Not saying women can't play games, Morgan Webb was believable,), and they turned Filter into this shallow excuse for a whore of a show (Top 10 most suggestive words, who the fuck cares!?)

I don't really like to flame, but this is just too much. We had an ENTIRE channel devoted to technology and gaming and NOTHING ELSE, it was a gamer's heaven. Some idiotic middle-schoolers for a creative team decided to make it more 'mainstream' and by that they bent over, lubed themselves up, and I don't even need to go any farther. All I wonder is if I'm the only one who finds this channel unwatchable now...

Yes, I like to refer to it as going into MTV status. Because MTV use to have actual music on it. Now it has nothing but crap and girls saying like 285 times an episode.

Also the instant they started airing The Man Show, I said to myself, that is the down fall of G4. It may still be airing gaming/technology shows, but they use to be so much more.

I am a chronic G4 watcher (I live in Canada). I tune in every day for EP daily and then on the weekends for EP weekly. X play is a big *meh* for me. If I have nothing better to do or if there having a special (like the E3 special) I'll watch it. AOTS is just trash I'm sorry I just can't stand it anymore.

Eh, they still play Ninja Warrior, so it's all good. That's the only thing I watch on that channel, anyways.

Note: Apparently the U.S. G4 and the Candian G4 air different things. I'm talking only about the American version.

The only shows I like are Attack of the Show and X Play. It used to be an oasis in the desert of television. Shows constantly about games. Now it's just cheap shows that they don't have to pay to make. G4 is only good because of the two shows I mentioned above. They need to resurrect the old shows.

The worst part about it is that you can detect in their programming schedule a subtle contempt for their audience.
It's like someone in marketing looked up one day and had the revelation:

This is the "MTV Syndrome" where it seems any shows relating to gaming(which is what its supposed to be) are shoved in the early morning hours when no one is generally watching TV. I remember also when it first started and and now its "Eh".

I don't know why some of the "Fringe Networks" think they need to air "Mainstream" programs. G4 is supposed to be about gaming and yet they show COPS? RIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHTTTTTTT!

Cheat's on at like 7 in the morning and about the only shows I watch it for are "Unbeatable Banzuke" and "Ninja Warrior". Supposedly they show previews of Yhatzee's Zero Punc but when I tried watching them recently on a Tuesday for the preview they didn't do it. I haven't watched it in a while since the last Sasuke("Ninja Warrior" Competition) and now its just a "If I remember to watch it" thing.

BTW MTV is trying to show videos when people are still awake on FNMTV(Friday Night MTV) but problem is its just to pacify the people that complain about it. VH1 doesn't show videos till about 3-4 in the morn and then they run till 11 when God knows what shows up on the TV.

Hmm ya know...this would be an interesting column for "The Escapist" to do but I wonder if anyone would do it. Its an interesting topic and it does go into the "gaming category" so why not?

My opinion is that G4 always sucked, but I was just too stupid to notice it. First of all, Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb just aren't funny. I'd add an "anymore" to that sentence, but I'm not sure they were EVER funny.

... Well, that Devil Kings review was okay. Yeah, go check that one out. It's not terrible.

Oliva Munn can do no wrong in my eyes. I have only been watching the network for about two years now, but having seen the "rewinds" episodes, I can't see too much of a differnce.

As soon as they got rid of The Screen Savers and Unscrewed with Martin Sergeant I knew it was going to be shit. The only thing I ever watch on it any more is X-Play and occasionally Attack of the Show, which are the only decent programs they have.

But they did play 'The Terminator' and 'The Road Warrior' a few of nights ago so they've earned a few points in my book. Those points were then instantly taken away the moment I remembered that they play shit like Cops and Cheaters.

And they got rid of fucking Robot Wars!

At this point the ONLY show i watch on G4 is "Attack of the Show" X-play went down the drain hard out of nowhere, I remember when it was strictly game reviews, and that awkward announcer guy in the beginning then they started doing these weird segments, and now they rarely do a game review. It's sad too when they have to interrupt Attack of the Show with Morgan Webb basically saying, "This is an advertisement for X-play, please don't change the channel after, ATOS finishes."

I find it ironic that AOTS's "epic fail" leads directly to X-play

i effectively stoped watching G4 the day 3 days after the xplay revamp they did a few months back, to be honest im sad because i didnt discover g4 untill about 6 months before they stated to mainsteam, i remember when the manshow premered, i will admit i appreciated the star trek tng reruns, but i miss that one show ( cant remember the name) it was like gamers diaries or somthing, u guysll know it was a show about how they made certain sucessfull game franchises and stuff, i especially liked the one on the grand turismo series. dated all the way back to the early eighties.

Now i go to the website and watch things like sesslers soapbox, and the ocasional review. but i think theyve been bought out in the review market, ie fable 2, a good stand alone game, highly enjoyable, but it wasnt a 5 i mean seriously 5s are for the games that revolutionize a genre or embody a console, ie halo and the xbox.

The British chick is too busy doing poker half the time. You know it's sad when you get excited that the regular hosts are being subbed for the blair that I like (the girl) and the other guy that does the tech stuff.

I started on G4 a few years befor they started to main stream. Technically it was TechTV when they were still their own network. Those were the good ol' days. Turn on the T.V. in
the morning once G4 slowly started to digest TechTV and it's judgment day. Come home and it's Arena! followed by some more Judgment day then X-Play. I wish X-Play would go back to doing skits. That's the main reason I started watching it when it was still part of TechTV! Like the zombie at work thing. That was pretty funny.
