Damn you all for living on the wrong side of the planet! EDIT: Oh and... PIX PLZ!!
We'll play Imagine in your honour.
I wish I living in Australia :(
It's times like these I wish I was The Flash. Then I could run over the water to hang out. Ah well. Have fun kiddies, somebody smack a kangaroo for me.
Don't ask me why, but for the longest time I thought you were French.
Is it perhaps due to the 'cockney' of me saying "Labyrinth is the French"? I wasn't quite sure what to make of that, as I've won wars. I'm taking a camera, never fear.
awww sounds cool, sadly Scotland is very very far away from Australia
I am so excited about this. For the record i will be meeting at central as close to 9:30 as i can with an awesome trilby and a sonic screwdriver
Damn this is happening at the worst time for me, I'm gonna be spending that whole week moving into my new apartment. On the bright side I'll be in my new apartment. I also have no money for travel right now. *sigh* Oh well, maybe next time.
One of those retro sonic screwdrivers or one with the glowy blue light at the end? I request that everyone take pictures of this event- I wish I could be there, but I have not the money to make such a venture......
Yeah, my attendance is not possible.
For those not attending, at some point we will be on Yahoo/MSN with a webcam, so say hello and you'll be granted a peek at the event. On that note, who was going to bring one again?
i said "I think i've got one", which i still think i do. if i dont (and depending on the cafe) im sure we could find one Edit:
blue tipped, david Tennant style
Cheers, Jim. In addition, I'd like to note that people will likely recognise me from an Opeth shirt and bowler hat. Here's a picture for reference:
I also have Really fucking long hair, it's black. So keep an eye out for that too. Chances are I'll attach the logo in the OP to the hat.
Damn people being on the wrong side of the world, I would like to go. But alas, I'm stuck in the states. Have fun with the stuff.
I pity you. | |
just out of interest, should we like, grab phone numbers or something in case bad things happen to us?
Look at the OP. "Additionally, I'm up for giving people my contact details so drop me a PM. This makes it easier if anything goes pear-shaped."
All I know is that my gut says maybe. Though this could prove to be the perfect excuse to not see people I hate at a place that is inconveniently difficult to get to. I shall ponder.
What is it about rl internet ppl gatherings & having time in a netcafe/online at someones house as a compulsory part of the itinery? Just something i seen to notice
You and me both. Anyone want to chip in and buy us plane tickets?
Because the internet is so much fun, and allows for the merciless mocking of people that aren't attending.
I don't think I can make it, I know you'll miss me. That conversation would be interesting:
Hell yeah, I give people I don't know money all of the time.
I'd go, if I could convince my dad to sell his plane ticket to California and get me one to Australia... hmmm... I don't think he'd like that... Oh well, take plenty of pictures so I at least feel like I'm there.
If you end up showing pictures on the site, please photoshop ultrajoes helmet on him for I dare not find out his secret identity. Oh, and I hate you all for being in Australia (dam Pacific Ocean).
Ahahahaha. Actually, several people have requested anonymity when pictures are posted, so aside from Ultrajoe's helmet, there'll be a smattering of V masks and more than one CENSORED bar.
Interesting, and I just have to say something, you look like an Australian version of my stepsister. It's incredibly creepy, I just had to get that out there, its been bugging me since the first time I saw your avatar.
Awww...... Now I really wish I could've gone- I might have seen Indigo Dingo's true form! Will there be a group picture where you label everyone, at least?
SECONDED FFS! | |
Maybe... though there'll need to be bribes first.
It's cool, il just.. sigh, just stay in NYC. Though I did pay the Gizmodo spot a visit.
Have fun, don't talk to strangers!
I will watch from the American West coast, have fun! Also, is there any chance of an American meet up? That would be cool, anyone agree? AMybe we could do the same thing out Australian counterparts are doing and meet somewhere?
I envy you Australians, sounds like an epically fun day.
Somebody should plan one for next year sometime. I'd go, provided it's not during summer, I'll be back home all summer.

So it's the fifth. On the thirteenth, we strike!
As has been mentioned before, our Sydney 2008 Escapist Meet-up will begin at around 9:30am, Central train station. From there we'll progress to Galaxy World Arcade for some good oldstyle gaming. The rest of the day is likely to include a drop in at a Net cafe so we can harass FeNinja and the like.
So far, our attendance list looks thus:
Labyrinth
Ultrajoe
Xhumed
jim_doki
Indigo_Dingo
raemiel
Fire Daemon
Dommyboy
Lord Krunk
stompy
Graustein
maximilian
If anyone can/can't go who is on the list, or wants to be let me know. Additionally, I'm up for giving people my contact details so drop me a PM. This makes it easier if anything goes pear-shaped.
There are a number of Labyrinth Red Star stickers available. None of them are awards for sucking up.
