I can at least say I TRIED to read the first couple o' books. I may or may not read Twilight...I'm too wrapped up in Timeline-191 right now. If you don't know what that is, wiki it. But don't read too much. It'll spoil it ALL. |

Anywho, Twilight sucks, and I invite anyone who disagrees to attempt to show me otherwise. User was banned for: Your.Name.Here Presents: Perma-Ban, the Thread!. (Permanent) |

If yes, then no, you won't like Twilight. Unless you're gay or have to pretend to so your girlfriend will continue to provide "the goods". User was banned for: Oh god, bees.. (Permanent) |

You are welcome here. |
Muckraker Posts: 235 Joined: 27 Oct 2008 | I have not read or seen the Twilight book or movie, and do not EVER doing so, but I honestly don't have a problem with fanboys/girls (and yes, there are fanboys) who are obsessed with the Twilight series. I just have a problem with the sheer fanbase that the book has shown me exists for this kind of stuff. |

Same :/ |
Copy Clerk Posts: 75 Joined: 27 Oct 2008 | This doesn't suprise me, I personally think the movie will suck and have no intention of seeing it, all the really well received movies aren't that good. For example: the Dark Night was awful and There Will Be Blood was only good for the main actor. |

Maybe that says something about them as well as my taste in women but as far as I know, from what I've read on Wikipedia, none of the books were well recieved except in the sales department. |

Why would gays be interested in this messed-up straight romance movie? |
Muckraker Posts: 244 Joined: 17 Oct 2007 | Don't intend to watch this movie. Go watch the first 12 episodes of True Blood instead. Same type story, probably a hell of a lot better. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 109 Joined: 14 Nov 2007 | I'm afraid I picked Gremily sucks as well - sorry. And I agree with you 100%. Twilight is far too popular for its own good... it's like drugs for depressed emo teen girls who are fooled into believing that some guy called Edward Cullen exists. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1926 Joined: 9 Sep 2008 | Vampires suck. Yes, we know you're fat, lifeless nerds who were picked on in highschool. Reading fiction about undead parasites is going to make you no more socially acceptable. You're better off than putting down the donut, washing off the face paint, hitting the gym and getting yourself some better fitting clothes. The only person who ever did vampires well was Terry Prachett. |

I ALSO picked this option thinking it was a reference to the book. But anyhow, Twilight blows, and so do the sequels. It doesn't help that half the girls in my school carry around the book trying to look intellectual. |

Hmm, you make a good point. I guess I made an assumption. Well then strike them from the list and you get a perfect idea of who the target audience is and why you aren't it. User was banned for: Oh god, bees.. (Permanent) |

Very good Turtledove series, even though I enjoy Guns of the South far more. There ain't nothin' like a picture of General Lee with an AK-47 on the front cover to get me to throw money at the bookstore attendent, run out onto the street curb, and begin reading. Infamous Scribbler Posts: 543 Joined: 8 Nov 2008 | I never read any of the books, or watched the movie, but from reading summaries, I can tell that the story is so cliched and just copy-pastes everything from popular books. The story is just about some girl who meets a vampire, and all this crap happens. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it dies down in 2-3 years, and everyone will be like, "What's Twilight?" |
Muckraker Posts: 296 Joined: 26 Nov 2008 | It's your typical teenage girl flick. My gf is obsessed with it....wants to drag me along to go and see it. At the end of it I will probably just go "oh was I supposed to be watching?" Yeah...manage to ignore a whole movie when there is nothing else to do - I'd be suprising myself :o However, no I do not see the big deal in this movie. |

Paperboy Posts: 33 Joined: 9 Dec 2008 | It irritates me that something that is nothing but appealing to the fantasy guy that every teenage girl believes exists makes so much money, when truly good books get hardly any money at all. As in, if a book was $15, an author literally gets about 30 cents per book. Literally, google it. So when something as complete and utter trash as |

I haven't so much as seen a single word of text from the book, and I've only seen the trailer; and even then it was in the context of Cracked humorist Dan Gladstone's Hate By Numbers. So I don't know crap about this fad beyond its plot, but given the popular opinion here, I'd best stay away from it. |

Twilight has swept the nation and I don't see what the big deal is. I have not read any of the books or seen the movie, and don't want to. This is my basic overview of it: There's a human girl and a vampire dude, and they can't love each other but they do anyway. WOW, THAT HAS'NT EVER BEEN USED BEFORE. And I don't care if it got $70.6 million in the box office. That doessn't make the movie any good. Out of fifteen different sites that was posted on Google, the average rating was 2.6 out of 5.
So far most of the people who I've seen reading it is teenage girls, and I've also heard that it has like eight sex sceens. I opened the first book off a freind to a random page, and it said, "He put his arms around her waist," and that was all the proof I needed. Besides, Vampires are way overated. You know whats missing in this world... Werewolfs; and for all the twilight fans reading this, DON'T SEND ME HATE MAIL ABOUT THERE BEING WEREWOLFS IN THE BOOK. I'm talking about a full werewolf book, not just some on the side.
What do you think?
