Care to elaborate? I'm intrigued as to the origins and ingredients of so-called "vegemite sandwich"???
I was actually just curious as to what foods you used to have that you can no longer have due to the circumstances: whether it be because your ex-gf left you, your parents/grandparents died, restaurant closed, you've moved to a new location, etc, etc... |

Beat Writer Posts: 204 Joined: 16 Dec 2008 | In my town we had a rockin' pizza joint called Nancy's. They had a Chicago-style pizza that could fill even my fat belly in one slice. It was so good and their thin New York-style pizza was also fantastic. They had a really unique sauce and their Italian sausage was ground in-house and made entirely by the restuarant (not from some supplier). Alas they went under and now I can't get that pizza anywhere. |

All other beef stew is ruined for me because it has to be compared to that beef stew. No place can get it just right like they did. *Sob* So good, I want more. Where did you relocate to? WHERE! |

I would be ever so grateful if someone could tell me what's actually in one of those fabled vegemite sandwiches? |

Vegemite is some sort of delicious spread made from beer extract or something, combined with faerie dust. Australians eat it, as do a lot of the English, because it's awesome. Think Marmite, but about twenty times better. |

Well, it involves a wee bit of smuggling.. http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,20623014-948,00.html I never knew that until I googled a few things. If you have friends in another country I'd ask them to import it :P |

You have gotta be kidding me! We always ban the good stuff! Do you know how hard it is to find blood sausage here, let alone GOOD blood sausage? EDIT: It's just crazy that we ban so many good and different types of foods, crazy. |

With the holidays coming, I was thinking about a few ex-gf's and the food that they made for me during this time of year.
One gf that I had used to make the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. It took her around two hours to make them, and after she was done, she would present me with a giant bowl with butter, chives and my favorite mix of salt and pepper.
Another gf used to make absolutely dynamite peanut butter cookies. She would make them from scratch, and they always came out perfectly. The funny side of this was that the cookies were the only thing that she could make...this woman would screw up a bowl of cereal, and yet, the cookies were the best.
Now Escapists', I'm curious, what are some foods, baked goods or special treats that an ex-gf, ex-bf, deceased mother/father/grandparent, or anyone else who's no longer in your life, that you miss the most?
