Why?

Have you ever caught yourself asking that question?
You're in the middle of something that has absolute no importance, and you ask yourself "why am I doing this?", and yet you finish what you're doing or, you just stop because you didn't come up with a good enough reason.

If you have ever done it, what were you doing? Did you finish or did you just stop?

I just recently caught myself asking why I'm going for the "Seriously 2.0" achievement on Gears. I'm still currently working on it for I want to 1000/1000 Gears of War 2, and it's the last achievement I need.

Because telling youself that the interactions between paricles means that everything is predetermined and that any semblance of free will or control over your life is entirely illusory is, in fact, quite depressing.

Other than that, it's because that last thing you need to do will taunt you if you don't finish. It was the same way with me and the SSBM trophies.

Yes I have done this once before.

Yes actually just this afternoon I was playing dino dash or something to do with doritos.
I came up with a good reason to stop, I didn't though. Weird...

Yeah, then I realize that I have nothing better do to, and it's Winter Break, so I should enjoy myself instead of trying to be productive.

Once I have Seriously 2.0, that's pretty much what my next reason is going to be. I can do whatever I want to on winter break =P.

May I ask, what you did?

I was sitting there eating a salad in the pitch black, late at night, and I just suddenly asked my self that very same question. I don't have an answer, but I really wish I did.

I often ask my self this, and then I realize it's because otherwise I would be sitting around questioning everything instead of actually doing something.

Cause everytime I ask why I end up coming with a creepy revelation that I promptly forget and then feel slightly disturbed at my bad memory.

For some off reason, I died of laughter reading that. Now I'm, most likely, just as curious on why you were. Think of an answer dammit!

I never ask why. I just mindlessly follow whatever directions they give me.

It's 2am and im surfing the escapist for no real reason. Needless to say i asked this question about 30 min or better ago and had no answer to continue but am still here. I pin it on the "I'm on winter break and dont have to do anything tomorrow" thought.

Trying to get all the kill/headshot challenges done with the sniper in CoD 5. Its slow and not very fun to me, but just cant stop. Have not given it much thought as to why im doing this and murdering my kill/death ratio.

If ever prompted with that question, I say "Why the fuck not?" and continue doing whatever I was doing previously. It makes for some interesting situations.

Usually in these instances it is because you have been doing something consciously and your subconscious brain takes over while you wonder off in thought. I do this alot when I'm driving, though it is usually me asking myself "Why did I just go that way?" as I turn down the wrong street heading to a familiar destination out of habit.
