Odd since its a turner company. Still its not a bad show and it may draw in some people to watch it. Won't be the normal AS crowd though. |

While I am happy that they are extending the time slot, what with the death of Toonami and all, I think Adult Swim doesn't really fit with the kind of abstract, non-sensical, and slightly offensive humor I have come to expect from Adult Swim. I think they are just trying to get everything from Fox's "Animation Domination". |

Seconded, when did Family Guy become adult swim? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1061 Joined: 23 Dec 2008 | Its funny but it doesn't have the same humour Adult swim has. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1355 Joined: 13 Oct 2008 | I like it, just not sure that it'll fit in. Seems a bit too tame for Adult Swim. |
Beat Writer Posts: 225 Joined: 29 Nov 2008 | I really don't agree with their decision, I enjoyed the show on Fox but it got old after a while. Don't get me wrong, I find humor in King of the Hill and I like the show, but I don't desire to watch it, especially on Adult Swim. I think Adult Swim should just stick to it's unusual comedy styling, such as Robot Chicken. If they're going to bring on an old series, they might as well bring back "Sealab 2021" and "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" but Adult swim seems to have a problem using their own old shows on a regular basis. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1156 Joined: 5 Sep 2008 | I like AS, but I find King of the Hill, just, too quiet for Adult Swim. It's what I watch at 2 in the morning when I want a series of stupidly funny laughs. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2735 Joined: 5 Aug 2008 | It just seems a bit too... subtle for Adult Swim. And the animation seems a bit too dull for it aswell. Adult Swim usually shows zany, off-the-wall cartoons, with vibrant colors (and anime). King of the Hill, just doesn't seem to fit. |

That and Comedy Central. Comedy Central is where adult swim shows go to die. Futurama is only the beginning. Funny you should bring death up. This is supposedly the last season of King of the Hill on Fox. Or anywhere. |
Muckraker Posts: 283 Joined: 30 Aug 2008 | KOTH doesn't really fit with the current line up. However, they have decided to run in at the 10:00 hour, while AS usually starts at 11. KOTH is slightly more family friendly, and I think it's smart for Cartoon Network/Adult Swim to capitalize on it, without cutting the other programming |

It was perfect when I used to watch it, 8 or so years ago. EDIT: Apparently it was seven years ago, I must have been remembering Evangelion from SBS anime night on Thursdays. |

Family Guy has been a part of the line-up a long time, at least two years, I think. I've been watching Family guy on AS for over a year. I agree with what seems to be the general consensus so far on this thread, King of The Hill is not of the same offensive, line-pushing stock as the rest of the shows on AS. Anybody think it doesn't (or does) fit in for a different reason? |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 627 Joined: 23 Jan 2008 | Personally, I think that seeing how it's the best show on Adult Swim, it should be on there, though maybe it's just me. I have to have King of the Hill (to live, literally), and I need it to stay on a specific channel. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 884 Joined: 19 Sep 2008 | It doesn't fit into Adult Swim because Adult Swim is funny. |
Beat Writer Posts: 147 Joined: 19 Oct 2008 | When I heard that KOTH would be on Adult Swim, I thought it was just a joke. I agree with others, the humor on KOTH doesn't fit in with the rest of Adult Swim, and they even start showing KOTH at 9 o'clock (central) for a full hour, before any of the good stuff comes on. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1837 Joined: 20 Feb 2008 | I always hated King of the Hill and that cartoon does not fit in with adult swim. Ya know it just shows me that cartoon network is losing their touch and not getting the right people to actually create something entertaining. I miss Space Ghost Coast to Coast. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 458 Joined: 15 Dec 2008 | Who really cares. It's a crappy show, being shoved into a crappy block of crappy comedy and crappy anime. I haven't watched AS in years, and with good reason. Anything that made AS good is long gone. Space Ghost is gone, Sealab is gone, Brak Show is gone. Harvey Birdman and ATHF have both descended into the realm of garbage. Robot Chicken is funny, but sandwiching ten minutes of watchable show between 3 hour slices of suck is not gonna make me watch AS. I liked AS better before it was invaded by Family Guy and Futurama. Those two crap-fest shows laid the ground work for garbage like Squidbillies, Moral Orel, Tom Goes to the Mayor and the black hole of suck that is "Tim and Eric Awful Show: Good God!" I watched an episode of Tom once that was so horrifically unfunny I actually felt pain. And any good anime that they put on before like Big O, Outlaw Star, or Cowboy Bebop has been long since replaced by crap nuggets like Bleach, Paranoia Agent and Inuyasha. Considering the direction that AS has been taking in the last few years, I'm not the least bit surprised they are picking up another crappy FOX animated comedy. But I guess appeasing the Family Guy 'tards is more important then trying to pick up quality shows. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1647 Joined: 5 Jun 2008 | What I miss the most is the old days of Toonami. Nothing beat stayin up late to see Dragonball Z at midnight. This, of course is back when the show was still really good, before it started to, like all shows eventually do, go downhill. Those days are gone for good, and now, so are the days of pure awesome adult comedy on AS. Ah, well. All good things must come to an end, I guess. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2226 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | Originally, I was going to say that I didn't like it and that it doesn't fit, but with the trend of mediocre, half-assed "comedies" filling up Adult Swim's line-up, I say it fits just fine. Now to be clear, some of the comedies I like, such as Home Movies and Venture Brothers, but Tim and Eric? You've got to be kidding me. |
Muckraker Posts: 242 Joined: 1 May 2008 | Adding KOTH to Adult Swim actually increases the IQ level of their content by at least 100. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 106 Joined: 11 Apr 2008 | Personally I like KOTH, its funny but in a more... mature way. Yes I do like immature humor just as much... and I don't think it needs to be on for an hour block. But I'm glad it's on because I don't normally get to watch it and the time its on is perfect because it fits right into my schedule. |
Beat Writer Posts: 131 Joined: 1 Jan 2009 | I didn't really like KOTH but then again being an Australian I guess there were several jokes I missed. I at least certainly HOPE it's a parody on Southern USA dwellers...if it's not then God help us all. It's reached the height of its popularity, all it would do is bring Adult Swim down. Adult Swim (I believe) is a place for new shows to try and find a niche and thusly find success. The best examples being Harvey Birdman and the hugely successful (and incredibly awesome) Metalocalypse. |

That's most of the problem. AS is supposed to be stupid. Or is that what you were saying? |
Muckraker Posts: 242 Joined: 1 May 2008 | Yeah, that's my point. With only an exception or two, most of the shows on Adult Swim are so stunningly stupid that KOTH doesn't really fit. It's a morality play in a lineup that could care less about morality, much less intelligence. |

I like King of The Hill, and I like adult swim. However, I do not feel that this show exactly fits in with the other shows in that line-up, namely my favorite, Family Guy. What do you think? Does this show fit in or not? Do you like it or don't you?
