Wear gloves, and when you're not typing sit on them. I also chew on my knuckles and fingers, it's become a habit but it keeps them warm for a while...
The thing you don't want to do is take an excited dog out on a walk on a cold day... My hands felt like they were about to be broken off...
Oh and for feet I have these slipper booties, they make me look like I'm wearing a Onesie, but I haven't taken them off all winter they're so warm. ^_^
