I hate colored tattos

I've always like black and grey shading, since apparently they don't tend to fade as quickly.

But then, Japanese style tattoos, just look so great in colour

Yeah, I have several already and plan on getting more. I would try and get ones that mean something to you though.

Hmm, I'm a little bit ambivalent about tattoos. All power to you if you get them, but personally, they don't really appeal to me. I might have a little fun thinking hypothetically about what I might get, but ultimately I don't think I'll ever get one. I might get one for a significant other, but they'd have to be pretty significant.

Tattoos' effect on someone's sex appeal isn't huge for me. Sure, it might be the single thing that I consciously find really attractive in someone, but most likely they'll have plenty of other attractive features that I'm probably overlooking.

Tatoos I believe are good if there is an important memory attached to it.

Like the skull/angel of death you got in the infantry in Vietnam/Iraq.

Or one you got after an unforgettable year in a foreign country.

I've got 4. A devil's head on my my right upper arm, a really busy (it's hard to describe)hot-rod themed one on my left calf, and on my inner ankles I've got the molecular structure for caffeine on my right and nicotine on my left (I did both of those myself).

Done as a form of art I do find tattos cool.

But doing it to be cool I do not find cool at all. It is also a turn off for me in the long term relationship because so many women get tattos that has no connection with who they really are and makes them look like a tramp. I'd rather the body be as pure as possible but so many do it because they want to fit in especially at the age of being a teenager through college it is easier to assume they are a sell out and have no thought.

I did it because I enjoy pain, and I really loved Ivy, so even though she is gone she will be with me always :)

Cool? No. I do enjoy the art of them though, as long as they're well done.

If done with a purpose, and where it's placed, totally. Because no matter how many people say you can ascend the corporate ladder as long as you have a good work ethic, your appearance DOES play a factor in some companies. Kudos to you if you who finds one that doesn't care.
Plus, It's better then piercing (other then ears. Everywhere else seems kinda freaky to me.) Not so much the belly button, but through skin, and not cartilage.

The tattoo procedure is about as impressive as dental braces, shoe inserts, and shampoo & conditioner in one; it is just another step forward in the realm of technological advancements. It's not the most impressive thing humans have learned to do to themselves, it's rank falling somewhere between getting embarrassingly drunk and doing yoga. Much like TNT, nuclear submarines, and black nail polish, it's the individual application of the technology, along with the underlying reasons for it's use, that should determine it's relative placement in the aesthetic of all who witness it's use.

I like them generally but there are plenty of ways to ruin tattoos like
a)getting tribal tattoos despite not coming from an islander or similar background. You just look like a tosser

I like them as long as they aren't completely excessive or unnecessary. I quoted this because I'd like you to help me out here. I'm planning on getting a tattoo of a Maori symbol, and, though I wasn't born in NZ myself, my mother was. Do you think I could avoid appearing like a tosser because of the fact that, though I'm not directly involved with the culture, it is still a large part of my heritage? Also, it's not just something I'm getting plastered onto my body for shits and giggles, it's a significant symbol to me. For those unfamiliar with the Koru, it symbolizes symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace, and is the Maori name given to new born fern leaves, which are still unfurling.

I plan on getting this, and, possibly, if I don't nearly piss myself during the first one, as well as some others, but I'm still yet to decide on whether or not I really want them.

Bububuwha? Someone listened to me?! Good Lord.

But in all seriousness, no you wouldn't look like a tosser. If your heritage plays a major role in your life then go for gold.

No, I do not think they look cool. I instead prefer the human body to be just like it should be, untouched. But if someone likes it and / or does it, then I don't really care. But stop trying to show them off every chance you get, they're not cool, so stop it. That annoys me.

I like tattoos, I think they are neat. I have a couple. And even if they turn out to be stupid mistakes I will still love them. It's kinda like my body tells a story.

Yes! They're great! Except maybe when people cover most of their whole bodies with them, that only works for a very select few. Also people obviously shouldn't get one if they're not sure since it'll usually look horrendous eventually, but if you don't care about growing old then I say go for it!

I'm cool with tattoos, but not the meaningless crap some people ink across their arms just to make it look more interesting. I can see how a tattoo of the word 'Memories' for example would have some significance to you, but you can't tell me a tattoo of barbed wire all over your arm has special meaning.

That said I'm thinking about getting one for a long time, and if I'm finally determined enough to screw myself up I'd want a tattoo of my avatar. Just a Daedric 'S' on my right shoulder.

I like a tattoo or two, but the full body tattoo thing is ugly, imo. And it depends heavily on the person, some people just can't pull it off.

Yes, I think they're cool. I'm probably going to get one when I'm older. Something like a dragon or Gemini symbol would be cool...

Where's the poll?

Tattoos aren't anything but pop anymore, it's trendy, it's fab.

Even so, though, unique tattoos that actually mean something for the person can often be really cool. The overused tribal and celtic ones are completely and utter shit, WAY too used. It's not cool to get a tattoo just to get a tattoo.

It needs to tell something about YOU, about who YOU are.

i like em, ive been thinking up a design for a sleeve tattoo for years maybe since i was about 13, but im 20 now and still not committing anything to ink, purely because theres douchebags at uni who have mustaches on there index fingers, heartagrams on there forearms and girls with a mingass tramp stamp of some tribal design or a cruifix at the top of there ass crack.

id just say id never get one of any band, never get one of fire on my forearms or wrists because thats like the greb version of the whitetrash tribal bollox on the forearm. i could rant on about stupid tattoos but really its gotta be something meaning full and something that wont make other people , and in later years yourself, go "how could they be so stupid"

I think they are generally stylish, but it depends what it's a picture of and where on your body it's located.

I would partially agree.

I don't have any problem with Tatoos, but some are really just stupid.

Barbed wire rings on the arm? Asian characters (When you aren't Asian)? And I have never seen a dragon or mythical creature that looks good one someone.

I'd say 'all things in moderation'. A tatoo can be a great, and stylish, way to express something about yourself. But you better be darn sure you're going to feel the same way in 15 to 20 years from now because you'll still have it then.

I'm 24 years old. There are tatoos I would like that I think, right now, are bad-ass. But then I think back to when I was 13 or 14. What if I got a tatoo then? What would it be of? Chances are, it would be of something retarded that I've grown way out of. Be it a band, fad, or mentality.

It's a choice, I think, that shouldn't be made flipantly.

.. I dunno. Small tattoos and only one are fine. I really don't like the completely-covered-in-tattoos-arm or leg nor the Pornstar-Tribal/Birdthing on the lower back. Also, the playboy bunny near the bellybutton is a bit old too. Do something original.

I hate white people with japanese and chinese tattoos, they also don't seem to realize that many times the tattooist will write a character like "fag" instead of "life"... other than that I like tattoos that mean something, if it's a barb wire tattoo, well that can't mean anything and you shouldn't have gotten it. Getting one to just be "cool" is retarded. For instance I have a scetch drawn out to commemorate my cousin and aunt who died/are very close to dying.

I was thinking about getting this on my sack.

(Wembdon is where I was born, raised and live to this day, it's a fairly rural village, which is why this is funny).

O_O Uhhh, are you sure you meant "sack" and not "back"??? But yeah, that's pretty funny.

Is the S key near the B? :D

That is THE ONLY CASE tribal symbols make sense, if it's a part of who you are, roll with it. For all I care a red mailbox on your forehead could be cool, if it meant something to you, and you could tell me when I asked you.

I have "eros" and "thanatos" (in greek) tattooed to my wrists. Thought about getting them for years and finally did last April. No regrets. I want more. Just make sure they're in a spot you can cover up for work or whatever.

First one *could* look really cool, and would get you high-fives from gamers noticing, and should hand you an approving glance from others, as it *could* look cool.

The second one: No, just no.

Instead, if you for instance get the logo only, the P S, it would be better; But still no.
