I like my "E" key. It's near "R" "S" and "A", all of which are important keys.

And where would we be without a word like "eraser"? I shudder to think.

well played

MrGFunk:

I like the ENTER or RETURN key. It's big, it's punchy, you can really smash it and it always satisfies.

I do not like WINDOWS key - it muscled it's way into keyboards (like we would notice the gap had gone).
I also do not like ' ` ¬ ' - illustrates my point, how do you get the third character and what are they for.
I don't mind Sys Rq but what does it do? I only ever use it to print screen. Maybe i'm missing out on some good stuff.

The sys Rq key is fairly useless in a modern operating system. It has no preassigned function, but it still sends a signal to the bios. In the off chance your computer froze as a result of a communication problem with the bios (either because of malicious software or really bad programming bug) presses the key may unfreeze the machine.

THE CAPS LOCK,

hours and hours of reading people on WoW "TLK" LIKE THIS has just lead me to resent it and anyone who uses it in conversation

Unless you reprogram it with Linux, in which case it can actually become rather useful. In Windows and Mac OS, it's completely unused.

Least favorite: Num Lock - my computer always seems to turn it off when I don't notice so I end up trying to type a number sequence I'm reading off of a piece of paper and have to do it again because the keypad didn't register anything I just typed.

Favorites: The Alt key and the F4 key, they're really nifty on their own, but when I use them togeth

Favorite. Definatly. Caps Lock ^_^.
Least favorites have to be scroll lock and insert >_> No idea what scoll lock does. And insert annoys me.

Also.

plastic_window:
Or Sticky Keys. That counts, right? I hate it when I'm playing TF2 and I start pressing crouch because I'm bored waiting for the game to start - the game crashes and windows asks if anything's wrong because I pressed shift too many times in a row. It's annoying and I keep forgetting about it when I'm playing a game.

I'm gonna have to say sticky keys count. I hate them. :[.

I think some people have already said this but I feel that the instert button deserves quite a bit of punishment.
Back before I was really an expert at this, at school some asshole would be on the computer before me and screw up the program for me.

I like this ¬ one, he seems so unloved, nobody knows what he's for :(

My least favourite has to be the windows key, playing a game and accidentally hit it instead of crouch - BAM DESKTOP.

Favorite key would have to be the twiddle key (doesn't exist on notebooks :() in use for game console and other random stuff

Least favorite would have to be that menu key, I think it serves as a right click if you don't have a mouse, I've practically NEVER used it. On the other hand I don't see why people complain about the windows key so much it can be used as an alternate (one button) 'alt tab' out of games :/

EDIT:

That key is one of my favs :D can do so much binding to one key - oh and you get the 3rd one usually by alt-key and it should come out as a vertical line (either solid or an interruption in the centre). Also you can make a smiley with it |¬` ! I miss it now though since I'm on a notebook :(. Also I don't know what Sys Rq/Req does but could you really live without it's companion the printscreen?

The "Enter" key is my fave. I love finishing a hard essay then going into "Save As..." and make a point of savouring hitting that key.

As for my least favourite its gotta be the "windows logo/flag/thing" key. Could someone tell me what it is for?

True. I'm sorry. I should have said modern commercial OS. I use linux on occasion. I've never reprogrammed the function of any key. What do you make it do?

Well, judging by the amount of grip that has been rubbed off my keys, the Shift key is my favorite.

As for my least favorite it's the Insert key. I never use that thing.

My keyboard actually doesn't have an insert key. Woah its actually been attached as secondary function to scroll lock wtf?

Yes, because it's less than useless. It means if you're cursor has a letter on the other side of it, when you type it overwrites the next character in line.

Least favorite:

CAPS LOCK. 99.9% of all presses of that key are accidental. I'd rather have a larger shift key, or tab, or something. Or better yet, a programmable key.

Favorite? K. Love that letter.

I'm torn between the Ctrl key, considering that Ctrl is cruise-control for awesome, or the "Right Click" key, considering that it is beyond useless as you already have the ability to right click on a windows machine, for my favorite.

My least favorite is this: | (Shift+\)

My favourite is the "-" key, because hypenated words are badass.
My least favourite is the "Delete" key at the bottom left corner of my keyboard that has never been used. It's a total waste of plastic.

Ditto the hate on Insert, also Num Lock. What would be the point of having two sets of arrow keys right next to one another?

Favorites, definitely Home and End. They make editing so much faster.

That's neither a grammatical error, nor funny. I'm sorry, the answer we were looking for was "spelling". Thus concludes another exciting episode of The Price Is Right.

System debugging and easy rebooting, apparently.

I have a button just above my ESC key which puts my computer to sleep. That button has made so angry on many occasions.

I'm not sure what all the hate about the Sticky Shift key is, since you can very easily turn off the shortcut, press the shift button 5 times in a row, go to settings, select the top Settings button, and uncheck the box that says "use shortcut". This way you get rid of the pop-up.

Now about most hated and loved keys.

I hate all the numbers atop of the left side of the keyboard, they don't fit nicely when typing blind, and would be better if the standard was the signs, and the Shift was the numbers.

Most favorite I don't really know, altho I love the Alt key because for almost any strange character I use the Alt-code(alt+125 =}}.

It's on the same key as Print Scrn. If you're using a laptop, it may not be on the keyboard. Also, I doubt it would do you much good. You have to have a very specific error for this key to do anything for you outside of the mod for it in linux.
