So the global financial crisis has cleaved a swathe through the stock markets of the world and more fighting has recently broken out in the middle east- nothing new some people might say.

But looking at the current state of the world and the possibilities that a new year offers I thought about what will exactly define the first decade of the 21st century? Cynicism? A capitalists worst nightmare? Constant conflict and hypocrasy? all of these things have been present since the new milennium and time has not endeared me to them anyless.

So, what exactly do you see in the world of today? and more importantly, what are your opinions on the matter?

School tests and the difficulty of work. I don't handle stress very well (if it's possible to actually handle stress in a good way) but I don't go insane over it.

I'm afraid that the fellow in B.C. trying to make fusion power is going to fail because no one will help him financially even though he has a plan that has much more chance of working for a thousandth of the cost of ITER.

Money, and looking for a job over the summer when classes are finished. I need to build up a cash reserve again, but I don't really have any marketable skills yet.

What worries me is that I cannot see how any chick could like me, I'm not emo or anything, just lonely, 19, never kissed a girl(a game of spin the mcdonalds cup in a park doesn't count) also I am fat but hey I like food, nuclear wepons, the fact that I will need a real job to keep up with video games, i also fear that all games in the future will be like world of warcraft

Super viruses. With all the anti-bacterial crap getting thrown at us from birth now, not only are we taking out the low-level bugs that build up our immune system, we're leaving a huge gap for med-resistant strains to come through and take us out.

I'm also terrified that my 2 months of writers block will never end.

Careful, don't make yourself too marketable before you finish college...that's my problem. Being overqualified and under-educated isn't very fun.

I'm not worried about much of anything, actually. I'm really quite content. If I had to say one thing it's that I might have another cold coming on. Either that or that my dog might have gotten into the pantry again. Either way, no real troubles here.

I'm really worried about the world my kids will live in more than ours now. I mean, I'm 16 and have a ways to go before kids but still. It worries me.
