Well I only bought 7 albums this year so the list would be (in no specific order):

AC/DC - Black Ice
Trivium - Shogun
Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire
Metallica - Death Magnetic
Children of Bodom - Blooddrunk

But if you ask for my most listened albums of 2008 the list would be different (again: in no specific order):

Led Zeppelin - Mothership (I hope that counts as an album)
Trivium - Shogun
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Pink Floyd - The Wall

For another website I did my top 20 albums of last year. 2008 was such a great year for music.

Sam Roberts: Love at the End of the World
Beck: Modern Guilt
Sigur Rós: I don't feel like typing it out
Born Ruffians: Red, Yellow and Blue

Can't think of a fifth. I got a few others, but they didn't really stand out. I liked 2007 so much more overall, although Love at the End of the World has quickly become one of my favorite albums of all time.

Nickelback? Really??
Well I suppose someone has to like them, otherwise they wouldn't be 'popular'.

This year, I picked up:
Bedouin Soundclash - Street Gospels
Capital Lights - This is an Outrage

And that's it. I'm pretty particular on what CDs I buy.

Hmm. I like the new Fall Out Boy - Folie a Deux...It's about a 6 out of 10. They changed their style a bit, and their slow songs aren't that good.

But other than that I can't really think of anymore. And also. One thing I have to say about something.

blaise84:
Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone

No.
I love Slipknot.
But no.
That album sucked.

There were a shedload of good albums this year.
My all time favourite has got to be
Our Earthly Pleasures - Maximo Park

EDIT: Bugger, apparently that was releases in '07, I only managed to pick it up this year, still an awesome album.
Other goodies were;

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
The expanded 2CD edition of Brighten the Corners by Pavement.
The Age of the Understatement - The Last Shadow Puppets.

Actually, looking through my albums, I have found that 2007 was a far better year, I'm just slow on the uptake apparently.

Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak
Justice - A Cross the Universe
The Presets - Apocalypso
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
Van She - V *
Tame Impala - EP *

The albums with '*' after them aren't the best but I had to make 5 for the list.

EDIT: Added 'MGMT - Oracular Spectacular' to the list.
