They say that a Hero is only as good as the villian they fight...

Who is your favorite cartoon/ comic/ anime VILLIAN?

I'm personally a fan of Candlejack and the Lobe. And no, I will not make the stupid Candlejack joke.

Venom from the COMIC BOOKS, the movie seriously gayed him up.

Man, it has to be a draw between Venom and The Riddler. I just love them both so much... in a evil kinda way.

Y'know that one that's, like, really evil and wants to take over the world for whatever reason? Yeah, I like that one.

I don't have a favourite but I think this is an honourable mention. Shredder from the old TMNT that I watched in the early 90's.

SEPHIROTH from ff7

Best comic book villain, Hush from Batman.

Megatron from G1 Transformers - at least he manned up and killed some Autobots in the movie.

That's pretty damn broad misterprickly...

But lets see, my favorite Comic Villain would be Baron Von Wulfenbach from Girl Genius. He's villainous but understandable and well motivated.

Favorite Cartoon Villain would be Lex Luthor from Justice League Unlimited, damn he's good at being evil AND at the end of the series... he saves the universe. Awesome.

Favorite Anime Villain award goes to Knives from Trigun, because he is just so wickedly evil.

Phase_9:
Best comic book villain, Hush from Batman.

I never quite got what made him so great.

Myself it always changes too frequently. At the moment, the riddler or bane from the Knightfall era.

Lex Luthor is a good one just because like the joker used to he plans everything methodically, and that without Superman he would probably be the greatest contributer to humanity's development. Hes probably the most driven person in the DC universe besides Batman.

fullmetalangel:
If not... I would say Light is the... not my favorite, but he's probably the most evil villain that I've ever laid eyes on and I'm glad that he

.

edit: Light Yagami from DeathNote of course.

Seconded, his evil laugh is freaky man freaky. Youtube video contains SPOILERS btw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C65oaIHsdYM&feature=related

Team Rocket from the original Pokémon series ;D

I've always been a fan of Dr CLAW from the origional inspector gadget, The Leader from the HULK comics and ky-an-wang from 3x3 eyes.

Roth From the way of shadow the first book of the night angel trilogy.

Thats a hard choice. Right now the only villain I can think about is ozymandias from the watchmen. Then again him being a villian is debatable.

Dr Horrible

Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (the Disney movie), his constant look of utter disdain, his sweeping movements, Tony Jay's perfect voice, and the "Hellfire" song. Let's just list some stuff he does.

He:

Persecutes, tortures, and burns people alive he thinks are guilty.

Killed an innocent woman and tried to drown her baby because it was deformed, than gave that baby the name "Quasimodo", meaning "half-formed" and keeps him in a bell tower.

He's a holy man of the cloth and yet he sexually harrasses Esmerelda in a church. Followed by him confessing his lust while singing the aforementioned, and disturbing, Hellfire (it's actually very dramatic and serious, unlike the rest of the film) where he basically forces himself into believing that Esmerelda is a satanist, and the only way to save her is if she "becomes his", and if she doesn't? Well, hell awaits.

Traps a family in their house because he found Gypsy merchandise near their house. He then burns the house down.

Imprisons several Gypsies for mass execution, again, because he believes them to be devil worshippers.

And at the end? He's nothing but a psychotic killer, breaking the rules of "sanctuary" in a church in order to kill a Esmerelda. I think the best part is at the end, when Esmerelda is trying to save Quasimodo, and he's about to cut her freakin' head off while chanting. Only for him to fall off the building, in the molten streets of Paris, or my way of interpretation, falling into Hell. His appearance is of worth as well, carrying a psychotic smile amidst his now (unexplainable) zombie-pale skin.

My love for Frollo stems from his utter belief in what he's doing, torture, maiming, burnings, the list goes on. Yet he still has no problem with it, because he justifies it as God's will.

i like the joker from the older batman animated series... he was funny as hell.(when i was 8)

Starscream. No one has ever failed his master for the last time so many times.

Cartoon: Mojo Jojo from Powerpuff Girls
Comic: Dr Doom/The Joker
Anime: Light from Death Note (if he counts xD)

I've gotta say it's Kaku from One Piece. Nothing in a villain is as refeshing as light-heartedness and jumping off cliffs.

Sora from Air Gear

Original Cartoon series Batman's Joker, the one voiced by Mark Hamil.
All, "Hello everybody! Joker's back in town! *joker laugh that very people in the planet can do right* (I'm looking at you currently deceased Heath Ledger!)"

THAT was a good joker, none of this "Y'wanna know how i got these scars?" bullshit...

Apocalypse - he's about as powerful as they get

Either the Joker or

He was the antagonist, but at the same time the main hero

He was the villian with the best of intentions that you agreed with.

I guess it just shows the writing talents of Alan Moore

Dr. Doom:

RICHARDS!!!!!!!!
*shakes fists ruefully toward the sky*

That is why Dr. Doom is the best villain ever. He deserves a better class of heroes to fuck with, because the FF are lame.

My favorite is also the Joker, but I really liked the newest representation (Heath Ledger's character). I believe Mr. Ledger's Joker was closer to the Joker from the comics.

He may well have been, and don't get me wrong i liked his represntation as well, but i just hated that they did away with the "Fell in a vat of chemicals" things.
I mean yeah, a guy gets a "smiley" scar on his face and thereafter goes nuts and blows things up? doesn't sound very Joker as i remember him.

The Joker i've come to know and love is a trickster, yes he blew shit up but at the same time he liked to joke people around, he was also genuinely derranged his plans weren't all that complicated. Also what's Heath Ledger's Jokers obsession with Knifes? beyond the fact he has that scar? I would've gave my left arm for some Joker Gas in the Dark Knight...

Mr. Valentine:
SEPHIROTH from ff7

Sephiroth makes for an interesting Dark Messiah 'I will inherit this world' villain, but for the record: Kefka from ff6 would OWN him up sideways in a fight. Plus, he started wearing his mother's panties in Advent Children.

That's why he's such a good villain. BECAUSE he succeeded, peace and prosperity was brought to the world, and nuclear holocaust was avoided.

DIOOO! for anybody who has read jojos bizarre adventure...

The first person that comes to mind is Slade from Teen Titans.

I think I like anyone that isn't evil just for the hell of it.

I definitely agree, but I'm holding out hope that the next Batman movie may incorporate more of the "Jokerisms" we know and love.
