No, do not do that. If you do, try explaining it to anyone without them passing you off as a bunch of wankers that just got their hands on some instruments |

Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 736 Joined: 4 Jul 2008 | When I make a band, it will be called 'The Stanley Morrison Club'. Stanley Morrison will be my stage name on the microphone. Other band names? I dunno, anyone in your band have a really cool last name? That's always somewhere to look. |

Lol, that sounds awesome! :D I'd suggest Jacob's Ladder (heard the movie is a mind bender, plus, it sounds like s pretty sweet band name) |

YES!!! Though I think they've probably copyrighted it. My advice is to go into a bookstore and start looking at the names of books, you can get some really badass names like that (if you look in the right section...ugh... no one wants to listed to "The C++/GUI for Beginners"). |

Haha good point. But tell me one thing, how is 'The C++' not an awesome band name? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2684 Joined: 13 Jul 2008 | Well a band name should be a reflection of the artist's creative visions, so really you should choose it yourself. |

It would. But I feel like it would be the kind of name where you would need a really appropriate genre... like mathcore. |

Me, my brother and some friends are getting a band together and we're pondering a name, so has anybody got suggestions?
It might help if you know the genre so you can fit the name to the band. Its a melting pot of Metal, Jazz and Funk (the smallest mention of the word 'metal' will probably flock most Escapist users to this thread) :D
So far my brother came up with 'H.M.S. Gigantic'
And me trying to have a sense of humour thought of 'Badger Harmonic', 'Cosmic mandolin over surf planet', and 'Locomotive Gladiators' which he didn't see the funny side to.
