YOu either missed it back in 1997, or you don't check the internets much. Spawn's been a live action movie (which sucked dick), and a 3-part animated feature (much better). Both are over a decade old. And McFarlane Animation is creating a new Spawn animated feature as well. |

Uh, yah, last I checked Wolverine and Gambit are ok with each other. Why the hate? Though a Gambit movie would kick ass. But I have a feeling that Gambit and Wolverine may tussle a bit but end up friends. |

Hmm... worst potential movie? Hmm, that's hard... Anything I think of, I can think of a way that I could make it cool... |

I had heard it would be The Avengers and not Iron Man. That would be amazing. Another awesome one would Angel. Worst: Another Superman movie. He's not that cool. |

Everyone always knew who the X-Men were. So that point is moot. Same with Iron man. In the comics everyone knew Tony was Iron Man. He still kicks ass regardless.
Yes, an Avengers movies is coming. But not before they do Thor and the rest of the Avengers in their own movies. After all the origin stories are told the Avengers movie is coming very soon after that. Also, they only way another Superman movie would kick ass is if the movie did not have Lois, Kryponite, Lex Luther, or Jimmy Olsen. They need to take Superman out of Metropolis. All I have to say is Darkseid. Lastly, Aquaman is and always will be LAME. |

Oh yeah. A LOT of people will be pissed if it sucks. Myself included. As for the OP- |
Beat Writer Posts: 134 Joined: 9 Jan 2009 | Personally, I'd like to believe a Green Lantern movie WOULD kick ass, but I'm a little bit of a fanboy for The Corps. A big-budget, live action Justice League movie would be nice, too. For the worst already made, I'd have to go with "Nick Fury: Agent of Shield" with David Hasselhoff (1998, made for TV) It was truly painful. For the worst theoretical, I'll say anything surrounding Booster Gold or the 52 storyline. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 74 Joined: 7 Jan 2008 | Worst would be Wonder Woman. She's never made any sense and a movie would have to try DAMNED hard to try and explain half the stuff she has and does. An invisible Jetplane AND a lasso that makes people tell the truth? And you're a what? Ugh. Best? I gotta say I really like the way they've done the lead up to the Avengers movie. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2621 Joined: 27 Aug 2008 | Best: High budget TV adaptation of Justice League Unlimited centring around different little groups of C-list heroes each week. As long as it stays reasonably meta and funny without becoming jaded and cynical. Anyone who's seen the JLU episode 'Grudge Match' may agree with me on this one. All girl superhero underground fighting. Best: Dark Knight Returns adaptation. It would have to stick to it properly though and not make Batman young. Good: Green Arrow if they take his socialist streak seriously it could be an interesting one. Plus who doesn't like boxing glove arrows? Good: Booster Gold. Not the 52 Pickup series but his actual original run. It's actually got character development (shockingly for a D-lister). He starts of as a money grabbing, shallow prick but actually gets bitten by the hero bug and my god is he made to pay for it. Serious you can get a big compilation of Booster Gold's 80s run, its rather camp but very cool in the end (he does fight *shudder* THE DIRECTOR!). Worst: Avengers or Justice League films. Too many colours! These groups work well in comics because they can do the epic thing after years of history. I get the impression seeing CGI Iron Man next to CGI Hulk and CGI Thor might be a little on the vomit inducing. Not to mention the Justice League (they have to gone with John Stewart though to stop it being the League of White People). Worst: Aquaman or Namor. Seriously, who thought water themed heroes would work? Idiots. |

Agreed. A proper Death of Superman film would be great (if they had the balls to do it). |
Paperboy Posts: 22 Joined: 9 Jan 2009 | Best: The Justice Society Of America (but dammit would that ever be hard to do) Allow me to explain. I think that The Justice Society is an incredibly interesting group of superheroes when written properly. They contain the nostalgia of the golden age, they give a reader the ability to relax and look at classic styled far out there concepts that allows people to dream, and not to mention that in the last 10 years or so the Golden Age has been treated more and more with this overwhelming feeling of incredible epic, and heavy weighted, story telling. The only thing that drags this sucker down and makes it nearly impossible to make are a bunch of serious challenges it would face. For one, Marvel in itself is only recently starting to get the idea that it's entirely possible to interconnect their films, and only now choosing to make their films with the same studios and all that... Sadly though DC Comics have not clued into this notion for themselves, and their productions are incredibly disconnected from one another. For example you can not tell me with a straight face that Superman Returns will be in anyway connected to the Batman Begins/Dark Knight universe. Apples and oranges. Two, DC comics couldn't give half a flying fuck about crossing their films together, this made very clear by their initial attempts at making a JLA film, titled (of all the idiotic names) American Heroes. For those of you not aware of this, it was scraped, and thank fucking Christ. Their casting choices for the thing sounded terrible, and it was supposed to be completely disconnected from the more recent Superman and Batman films. The next big problem being that people on a whole are retarded, and if they never seen a movie about it then it didn't exist as far as they are concerned. Don't believe me? Ask your average Joe about the Spirit, and see if he realizes it wasn't a brand new hero created by Frank (Fucking) Miller. So the problem then becomes a case of people seeing this film and thinking how much these characters are ripping off the Justice League, or they'll think that they're the same characters or there will be some other retarded form of confusion. It will happen. So as awesome as i think it would be, I know they will never make a film about them, and we'd be lucky if they even mention them or make reference to them. Now about the Punisher. We have seen two films under the name "The Punisher". The first one starring Dolf Lundgren which i payed a dollar for in a remainder bin and felt raped for it later. The second film while staring a much better cast had little resemblance to the original comic book character short of the fact that it features an angry man with a skull on his shirt carrying a ton of guns. But beyond that the writing was terrible, the villain was John Travolta (fuck Travolta), he's very publicly alive, there is no Punisher-Van, oh and BTW this fucker hardly killed anybody in until the final couple of scenes. At which point it ends in a cheesy explosion in a car lot all in the shape of a flaming skull... Gimme a fucking break. I saw it as part of a free sneak peak but man do i want to be paid for it. i actually preferred the 80s film by the end. The sequel? Who actually saw it? It made a grand total of 8.7 million dollars in the box office, and recieved generally negative reviews. Sad fact it there are a few movies out there that actually did the Punisher better than even the Punisher. For example try looking into films like "Man on Fire" "Boondock Saints" or even "Death Sentence" did it better. Look into it. Anyway i'm gonna run off for now but I think I'll be back later to gripe about this in more detail. |

The problem with doing a Justice League film is its very unlikely to live up to the animated series was fantastic. This was a cartoon show nominally aimed at kids that only ran two or three part episodes with the exception of one or two (the vomit inducing Christmas episode saved only by the implication GL got his freak on with an hot red headed alien warrior woman). My desire to see a Justice League/Society film is very low because the series was so good. |

There is hope for the Watchmen but... also doubt. Best: No one has mentioned SECRET WARS. It'd probably cost too much to get all the original actors to be in one film but come on it's Secret Wars. It's got Galactus in it (and not as a Gas Cloud, see Silver Surfer). Also I'd want Eric Bana as The Hulk (yes I liked it) he looked badass unlike Ed Norton who looked stretched neck and bad CGI. Worst: Anything from The Beano. |

*Points and laughs* Why don't we just do Infinite Crisis whilst we're being silly? Surely Civil War actually has potential? I'd love to see a studio have the balls to adapt Kingdom Come but lord knows they wouldn't. |
