Thanks for getting my hopes up OP. There are people out there who really would like to see them try remake 4-6 so they better mesh with 1-3.

The original had a greatly better story, better technology (in terms of the Star Wars universe) and better acting. The newer three (mostly the newer two, as soon as that moronic dreamboat was employed-you know who Im talking about) just jammed puzzle pieces into place to make the story make sense, and the technology tried a little too hard... wont get into acting, or lack thereof.

Remaking the first three? Please, rename the series first.

Actually, that's the first thought that popped into my head. Then I thought, "I just won't see them and pretend they never exist." Then I realized, as much as I would hate myself for it, I probably WOULD go see them if they remade either trilogy.

That's my stance. After all, if the new one sucks, I don't have to buy the DVDs, but if they can do better than Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, I'd be thrilled.

I died inside when I saw this forum's title. Even though I knew a certain Lucas family member had sold his soul when I saw the new Indiana Jones, I was praying that he wouldn't dare bastardize his beloved classic trilogy.

Well to be fair, minus jar jar binks, episode one was okay, liam neeson is awesome and euan mcgreggor is okey, but Attack of the clone and Revenge of the sith are just bad... exept for a few nice fights

After the Clone Wars George Lucas could issue a press statement saying the original trilogy is non-canon and he is instead re-writing it. Thus giving Hans Solo force powers, Chewie speaking English, and Jar Jar Binks becoming the leader of the Senate.

It was a nice prank though. Props to the OP.

Ye Gods, no! The worst part is that I can imagine this. It's like George Lucas is stuck in a mental box, polishing and polishing his Anakin story. He needs to move on, do something creative. Yes, it was very exciting watching Luke's struggle against the odds to redeem his father. Yes, I suppose it was interesting to know "how it all began", if somewhat poorly done, but we're all ready to move on. Give us episode seven, eight, nine. Make some new stuff up, already!

I am a huge fan of the originals but there are a few things that I think need to be touched on in either a remake or a future movie that doesn't completely suck for instance;

Why are the Stormtroopers, who are amongst the best Soldiers in the Galaxy so damned incompetent? Yes I know the good guys are supposed to survive and win the day but cant they do that with their own skills rather than relying the incompetence of the Stormtroopers? I am aware that they touch on this in the EU a lot but most people don't read the EU stuff.

Would it really be that hard to humanize some of the Imperial Officers? Primarily the ones that aren't completely insane like Tarkin? For example Piett or Veers, would them being human really hurt the story that much?

For my sanity and possibly yours I will leave it at that, i don't wanna mention the Battle of Endor too much...

I don't have as much hate for the second trilogy as others do, but parts of it (medichlorines) still piss me off. But I saw The Phantom Menace before the original trilogy (though the original trilogy before Attack of the Clones), so I really grew up with both trilogies at the same time. Hard for me to heat the second trilogy.

But yeah, headlines like that are cruel, cruel tricks.

I for one would be much MUCH more thrilled over such a project if George Lucas wasn't involved in it at all. The guy's gone fucking loopy, him and his Film-Rape buddy Spielberg, and neither should be allowed to make films ever again. Nor edit their existing ones.

Give Star Wars over to the care of James Cameron, Ridley Scott, or (provided he signs a letter promising to behave) JJ Abrams. F**K, I'd almost... ALMOST take Uwe Bole over Lucas.

And yes I saw the new Indy film, no it wasn't as good as the others. The part I hated the most was the monkey part.
