hey escapists, i was wondering:
who is your favorite comedian of all time?
dead or alive. whats their show? if you are indecisive like me, do a top 3 or 5 or whatever.
mine are eddie izzard, dave chappelle, and george carlin.
so, who makes you laugh?

Lee Evans. The man is hilarious.
I also like Chris Rock's standup.

This has been done and done and done (try searching), but George Carlin, Chris Rock, Don Rickles, and Richard Pryor for me.

The man in your avatar makes me laugh, a lot. Peter Sellers was probably the best to me, too bad he wasn't around long enough to make more Pink Panthers. Other then that, I would probably pick Robin Williams, Russel Peters (some), and Monty Python. I say the whole group because they are all hilarious, but if I had to pick one of them, it would be John Cleese.

Lay off?
You should be apologizing and sending a pm to a mod, not telling us to "lay off".
If you can't stand critiques when you commit a mistake then don't commit it in the first place.

For either the fourth or fifth time, Victor Borge is my all-time favourite comedian.

Other comedians I really like are Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Hugh Laurie, and Brian Regan.

The Irish seem to have it in the bag when it comes to comedy.

In defense of people who don't use the search button, the search feature on this site is rather shitty.

MacTheKnife is a newbie, he probably doesn't know to search the forums before posting yet.

But anyway, I like Russel Howard, Micheal Macintyre (sp?) Alan and Jimmy Carr, Lee Evens and Peter Kay.

Bill Hicks is my number one favorite.
Lagging at 1.1 is Ricky Gervais.
I also like Jeff Foxworthy and his pals from the blue collar tour who I forget.

1) Rowan Atkinson (can not forget the classics) especially in Blackadder
2) Dylan Moran & Alun Cochrane (tied)
3) Adam Hills
4) Ian Moore
5) Jimmy Carr

It was really hard to put in order...
Oh and for the people that noticed that none of these comedians are american well...
Ben Bailey is the only one that's so-so

Edit: I can't believe I forgot Jack Dee, he's tied with Adam Hills

And this is only "mactheknife's" 3rd post, I wouldn't be as harsh as some others are being, if he had "Gone Gonzo" and made this mistake, that would be different, it would be expected that they be more experienced.

Disclaimer: I wasn't mocking people who have "Gone Gonzo" just in case someone wanted to "internet yell" at me.

Frankie Boyle is brilliant. Love how offensive he can be.

One of the best new, small-time comedians is Dan Cummins.
